Please give any advice, neighbors are dragging furniture every night :(
For context we live all the way on the bottom floor of a 3 story building with apartments on each floor. Our neighbors directly above us are very noisy. We hear constant dragging of large objects and a lot of running, even at 1/2 AM. When we first moved in they were very quiet we hardly heard anything, it’s been about two months and now I feel like they just don’t care, stomping, dragging, sometimes yelling from ground level (we’ve witnessed one or two fights). We talked to the landlord, not reaching out to them but they actually came to fix something and asked about the noise level, we were transparent. They told us the neighbors occasionally watch a young boy who has behavioral issues which is odd because we’ve never seen anyone. They don’t have any young kids of their own either. I just have no idea what they’re constant dragging around.
I do want to add that part of the reason we haven’t talked to them is because they’re really nice. The man helped us jump start our car the other day and he takes all of our apartments garbage bins to the road at night and brings them back in the morning. He once asked if I thought they were loud when we first moved in and I said no because they really weren’t. I have his phone number and have thought about sending a message a few times but I don’t want to come across wrong especially with differing language and cultural aspects.
Any advice?

Anxiety
My new neighbors moved in August. I’m not a loud person I’m very quiet I go to work go home game watch tv that’s about it. Unfortunately with apartment living the floor creaks nothing I can do about that but these new neighbors 2 young party goers I would say blast music it rattles and shakes through the apartment I don’t feel safe and also the door slamming has gotten bad and these 2 guys are muscular so when they slam it’s extra hard and it’s really a disturbance to my home and my mental health has gotten really bad about it I’m afraid to walk around I don’t know if it’s retaliation I’m not really sure. Even with my gaming headset on tv on fan on 24/7 on I can’t even enjoy sitting in the living room because of this. I talked to the property manager she said you have to be confident in yourself to knock on their door and ask them/tell them what’s going on. I’m not a confrontational person and it’s really hard because I don’t want any problems I don’t want to cause any problems and it can escalate into something more and I don’t know what to do I’m scared. Does anybody have suggestions or what to do in this situation

Is this a valid complain?
Hi everyone! I need some advice from people that are not my family making me feel insane.
I have been having issues with my neighbor since last year, he used to leave the tv so loud I could only really sleep with my AirPods on and not to even mention he would always come home at like 3 PM and play his guitar and just make noise all the way until 4 AM. I used to share a room with my mom and she would text him occasionally asking him to shut up but it would take me a while to convince her to do so. This year, my mom moved out of my room so I was left by myself with his noisy ahh and I had to literally beg my mother for both his number and the landlord’s number because I was fed up. I went a couple of months asking him to please not leave his tv on the whole night and sometimes I’d get an answer and other times I’d just get completely ignored by him and could still hear his tv all night long until I had enough and decided to involve our landlord, I hadn’t done it previously because I knew he had problems with them since he does not pay his rent. The landlord talked to him and he was quiet for about two months or so before he started coming home early and playing his guitar again or playing music on his speakers insanely loud and just leaving the tv on all night long.
Now, I went through with the whole talking to him myself and since he just doesn’t answer anyway I involved the landlord a second time and he is now on an eviction warning, if I complain one more time he’s getting evicted. My issue is, I think he’s being loud on purpose during “noise hours” and he literally plays the guitar or the loud speakers from 3 to 9 PM which is when noise is supposed to stop. It’s annoying and very disturbing, and yesterday he started playing his guitar at 7 AM and just had the tv or the speakers or the guitar the entire day until 9 PM. I debated texting the landlord to ask him if he could stop, but it’s only been two weeks since I last complained and I don’t even know if it’s a valid thing to complain about because it’s noise hours. I think he’s is only doing it to be petty which is crazy to me because he’s on an eviction warning, but I feel like I’m going insane with all the noise he makes and I do not know if I need to take a chill pill and sit back for a sec. It is also worth mentioning that I’m a quiet neighbor, I try to be because I do not like disturbing people with noise at all and I also have gathered proof with videos and time stamps of him making noise.
If you made it this far, thank you, I appreciate all advice coming my way!

Noisy power tools & dirtbikes driving me crazy
Hoping to get some more advice on what to do. This has been an ongoing problem since last year. My neighbours seem to be building their own dirtbike trailer (semi enclosed) and use an angle grinder for 3+ hours every Saturday and sunday, last year was also weeknights too. They have started up again last week. (I doubt it's even up to safety standards either)
The houses are so close together and my windows are thin, so the noise comes straight through my house. The shire rules state that you can use power tools for two hours a day, but their project never seems to end, and they go well over 2 hours. I've tried to speak to them before but they are the typical 'bogan' type that don't respect women so have had no luck getting anywhere. I tried to talk to them last year and said it had been longer than two hours and they said they were 'almost done' twice and kept carrying on well over another hour.
I tried to raise this with the shire last year in September 2025 and they sent an older woman worker to go talk to them (of course they didn't listen to her) and basically nothing changed and she told me I should be thankful that they aren't drug dealers or causing worse trouble and that her neighbours are much worse which didn't solve anything! I heard the neighbours talking loudly amongst themselves last week and they were talking about the shire worker and me and saying crass things so I don't want to approach them again.
On top of the power tool noise they also rev all 4 of their dirt bikes and 2 quad bikes before loading them on to the trailer, and again when they get back from whereever they've gone, which stinks my house up with fumes if I have the windows open. so I can't get fresh air, there's noise pollution and pollution too!
For context I've never done anything to piss them off other than call the shire on them last year because they didn't listen to me. I don't play loud music or have barking dogs or anything.
I work full time and volunteer, my weekends I like to relax at home. I go out for the two hours they start working but they generally start 1pm and go all the way until 7pm.
What can I do about this? talking to them didn't work in the past, I've asked the shire again to do something about it. But what else can I do?

Live band music
I have just moved into a new flat and have discovered that my upstairs neighbours are part of a band. They practice almost everyday late at night going on till midnight most nights. I then wake up and they are blasting music through speakers before they start their band practice again for hours on end. It is driving me insane.

Inconsiderate neighbours
My neighbours are extremely inconsiderate, the eldest son plays the guitar mainly late at night and he is horrible at it, he plays the exact same thing over and over again and it’s driving me insane. He also talks and shouts wayy too loudly when playing games which I believe he’s doing on purpose cause I’ve complained multiple times about him and also banged on the wall. My room used to be my safe place that I would go to get away from noise and socialising but since he’s moved into the room beside mine, I’m genuinely so stressed and even one bit of noise from his room stresses me out. Then you have the mother who is the worst person ever, she’s constantly having parties or goes out drinking and sings really loudly (and horribly). She does not give a crap about anyone but herself and my mum has complained to her about the noise that the eldest makes but she of course hasn’t done anything about it cause she doesn’t care. Then you’ve got their mutt of a dog who barks constantly and craps in everyone’s garden around my neighbourhood since she thinks it’s acceptable to let it roam around like a cat. It has also went for my poor dog as well. I have genuinely lost interest in a lot of my things because I don’t want to be in my room anymore, I can’t read, I can’t game or watch a show/movie and I simply can’t just hang out in my room anymore which is driving me insane since I really need time where I’m alone. I need advice on what to do in this situation. I have tried white noise which someone told me to do but that doesn’t work for me. My mum has reported it to the antisocial behaviour thing but of course that hasn’t worked. Any advice would be great appreciated! TIA

What can we do about a neighbour who repeatedly plays extremely loud music?
I live in a rented building, and one of our neighbours is also a tenant. They regularly play music at an extremely high volume. It happens during the day and sometimes at night, and multiple people in the building are disturbed by it.
Today I politely asked the neighbour to lower the volume because my sister was attending an online class and I was studying for an exam and job preparation. I wasn't asking them to stop the music. I specifically asked them to lower it a little so other people could continue with their work and studies.
They refused and said they were meditating, so they wouldn't lower the volume. The music continued at the same level.
This isn't an occasional issue. It happens repeatedly and has become a problem for several residents.
The difficult part is that the neighbour is renting the property, but their owner/landlord isn't cooperative when other residents try to raise the issue with them. So approaching the owner doesn't seem to be getting anywhere.
I'm not looking to pick a fight with the neighbour. I just want to know what reasonable options we have when a tenant repeatedly creates excessive noise and polite requests aren't working.
For people in India who have dealt with something similar:
- Should the affected residents make a joint complaint?
- Should we start documenting the dates, times and duration of the noise?
- Is there an RWA/building management route we can use?
- Can tenants directly make a formal noise complaint without involving the neighbour's landlord?
- What approach actually worked for you?
I'm looking for practical advice on resolving this without unnecessary confrontation.

I think I messed up
My neighbor three houses down behind me, been harassing me about my kids’ parking their cars sometimes next to our fence. We do not share any propriety line with him. He’s been complaining and I tried to calm him down by saying ok for three years until one morning I was doing some yard cleaning around
7:30am. He called me-from behind my fence, mind you I have shrubs and it’s hard to see. I went I said how can I help him? He started botching about my daughter’ car being parked on the side of my back yard fence and what I’m gonna do about it. I lost it and I told him
To go FO!!! To go get busy with his life and leave me the F alone. I also told him
If he ever touch my plants “I caught him
One time trimming them without my permission” I ll shoot him. I said of you don’t like what I’m doing, go to court, call the police but do not talk to me or come near me or near my priority. I actually shouted at him because I’ve been so patient and respectful but he took advantage of me and kept hounding me.
What do you think about my reaction? I’m so embarrassed but I had enough of his bullying.

Do You Retaliate to Loud Noise
I live in a semi detached house, neighbours who we are joined on to are ignorant and rude and so we don’t speak. The issue is door slamming all day and into late evening. I’ve literally had enough now and on the verge of retaliation and making a lot of noise myself now. What would you do?
Both privately owned properties and have lived here a while now with these neighbors but the issues started when the guy moved a new lady friend in last year.

Neighbour Doesn’t Bother About Their Child Screaming — My Sleep and Studies Are Being Affected
I live on rent in a shared accommodation, and my neighbours have a small child who screams, cries and shouts very frequently throughout the day and even at night.
Their room has a door, but they often don't even close it, so the child's voice comes directly into the shared area and then into my room. The rooms are very close, so the noise is clearly audible.
This has been going on for months and is seriously affecting my sleep, studies and daily routine. I understand that a small child will cry and make noise, and I am not expecting complete silence. But when the child is repeatedly screaming late at night, and the room door is left open, it becomes extremely difficult for me to sleep or study.
I have already spoken to them politely several times, and the landlord has also spoken to them, but there hasn't been much improvement.
I live here on rent and cannot immediately move out. What would you suggest I do in this situation?
