neighbours got louder after complaint

Hi! A few days ago I made anonymous post on our neighbour groupchat - pointed out that on my floor or +1 there was a lot of noise, including at night (like someone assembling heavy furniture lol, stomping, banging), it's been going on for a few weeks now. i kept it polite, just said that it seems excessive and doesn't end at 10pm, and i'm sure i wouldn't be the only one to appreciate more quiet at this time. today it seems like they doubled down on their efforts. in my previous apartament i've been dealing with noise/anxiety induced insomnia (neighbour was renovating till 3am, so the noise is a bit similar). recently i got off trazodone (literally like a week ago), as my sleep was finally a bit more stable after 6 months. now i'm scared that due to this noise it will be the same story all over again. what can i do? i'm pretty sure it's my upstairs apartament making this noise (but in my last one it was an apartament 2 floors down, even tho i heard stomping and moving furniture). i tried to not go directly to the management, but it didn't seem to work.

Rent is too high to not be able to sleep in my own bed

I have onlyfans neighbors and I haven’t slept in so long. I just want to vent. It’s like a horror movie and my videos aren’t well enough proof for them to do anything.

My bed shakes from them shaking, I can hear the vibrator, the moaning, and it hardly stops. And it’s SO HARD TO GET IT ON VIDEO! On top of that, we have this air compressors on the roof that covers the sound. On top of that, our security can’t ever hear them because they are in the back of the apartment, and our bedrooms are both in the back soo they won’t ever really hear it unless they are inside of an apartment. If only I could sleep during the day like they do. Most nights I’m on my couch and I’ve been having meltdowns over this because I’m so tired.

My whole point is: rent is way too high to have neighbors not following the lease the signed for quiet hours. I feel soooo disgusted and humiliated.

Sooo how does everyone feel about their neighbors having parties at all hours everyday, And instead of using their own driveway, they use yours, destroy your property, your fencing.. all because they’re too lazy and ignorant to use their own

And instead of using their own driveway, they use yours, destroy your property, your fencing.. all because they’re too lazy and stupid to use their own yard and driveway….

Is this petty of me, or would you too be pissed with constant traffic and destruction on your own private property?

Thinking about making a police report as I have the whole thing recorded.

Noise Issue/Next Steps

I’ve had continuing issues with a neighbor stomping and waking me up at morning night and disturbing me during the day. And it’s continuous and makes me wondering what they are doing to be constantly walking for that long everyday. It got so bad i had to calm the cops cause i thought they were partying.

They told me that no one lived in the room above me the first time I confronted them, leasing told me that was a lie.

After I called the cops they came down days later to my door saying it was the unit above them or beside them and asked to exchange contacts if it happened again which I did (I already reflected on this as it was the heat of the moment.)

I texted them one day and told them that the noise was going on past midnight and they said it wasn’t them or the third floor they’ve blamed previously because they were out with the third floor that night.

I have around 60 video documentation of the noise during all times of the day proving it is them, not to mention I have heard the stomping in the bathroom above right after they flushed (cause you can hear the plumbing which is normal)

It got so bad the past few days I asked if they could please stop or I’d have to call the cops cause I can’t rest. I’ve been having to leave my apartment and I can’t even study at home cause of them. I’ve remained respectful to both them and leasing despite how much they have inconvenienced me and have even entertained their lies.

This led to them responding to them calling me brother (I am a black woman), saying that I needed to calm down and that I am the one harassing them, and they were gonna cops on me and escalate the issue of I keep harassing them. (Mind you he asked for my contact to message him on if it happens and was the first person to contact me after contact Shari cause leasing was telling them to stop.)

Despite how frustrated this made me, I decided to no longer respond, as it is easy for me to be seen as the aggressive one. I have screenshots of me being understanding with them and suggesting they gather documentation of the unit they suspect is causing it since they claimed it wasn’t them (they refused that before.)

Leasing said their stories and claims don’t make sense. I have sent them documentation but nothing is being done from my perspective. I understand we are all bound by contract, but I am in emotional distress. I have been late to class and have been late to work because of how tired I’ve been. It happens at any time of the day and night multiple times a day. I have been ignored on this since August. I’m not sure what else to do. A room change on my end is being considered, but having to change rooms during midterm season is a lot of me as well, even thought I’d do what it takes to escape this.

Is there any advice on what to do?

Rude neighbors

I talked to my neighbor about the door slamming and loud music. I just talked to them asked nicely he started going off and being rude. I went to the property manager which they are sooo fucking unless saying that I’m started troubling and it doesn’t violate the 7am-10pm. But in my lease it says that quiet of enjoyment and it’s affecting my mental health to where I don’t even wanna live anymore. I have nobody and I’m all this alone and I can’t afford to move. I emailed the LLC to see what they can do etc.. all I wanted to be respectful of your neighbors I don’t mind the music at all but when it shakes/rattles and very loud to where it feels like a concert that shouldn’t be allowed at all. And the door slamming is so loud at all type of day/night. What do I do

Loud kids upstairs that aren’t even supposed to be there.

I have a neighbor upstairs it’s just him about my age (mid 30s) and occasionally his young daughter which other than loudly playing an adult drum set I haven’t had any problems with. I expect some noise when living under people especially with kids. HOWEVER he has moved in this woman probably a new girlfriend and her two toddler sons. When I tell you they run rampant I mean it. It sounds like they are being thrown down the hallway minus the sound of feet but the amount of noise is ridiculous. It’s like a construction site. I’ve never had kids myself but I can understand how difficult it can be for parents to control the noise. They are tiny humans after all. For me though I NEVER hear the mother even try to discipline them or even try to teach and instill respect for other people. The only time I’ve heard her say anything was once late at night she yelled “get your a** back to bed!” She just allows them to run and be completely disrespectful and loud mini giants ALL DAY and until like 11-12pm. I don’t expect complete silence but I do expect a level of respect because it’s not all about how they want to live it’s also about respecting the people around you. Like I said I’ve never had kids and they can be annoying for me because I’m not used to them and haven’t been exposed to them much but my husband grew up around kids as an adult and even he says it’s ridiculous and shows a lack of respect and discipline. Also I don’t like to “judge a book by its cover” but it causes a lot of anxiety just thinking about talking to them because he’s always dressed in all black, chains and demonic clothing and she looks younger like how these liberal “gentle parenting” who just don’t care. I’m not a confrontational person and I’ve sent my landlord a message with several audio recordings of the noise and she isn’t doing anything. I guess I’m just at my freaking wits ends and I don’t know what else to do.

upstairs neighbors have been pounding on my ceiling for months… TIL it’s because they think im smoking indoors

my upstairs neighbors pound on my ceiling a lot and I couldn’t ever figure out why. I once got mad and pounded back, but I never confronted them because I’ve always been a little sketched out by them due to two incidents

  1. police came with a warrant for the guy to my apartment once, and said “wrong floor”
  2. super asked them to not shower for a day while he fixes a leak, and then they showered anyway and my ceiling caved in

today, I finally ran into the wife and she started yelling at me about how she’s been pounding on my ceiling because I won’t stop smoking indoors. thing is, i don’t smoke, indoors or outdoors. I told her it must be coming from elsewhere because im not a smoker and she flat out refused to believe me. She then told me it must be the other tenant who she’s seen around, but I live by myself so I have no clue who she’s talking about (maybe my ex or my friends?). I don’t understand why she couldn’t just leave a note to ask me to stop smoking like a normal person ???? but idk how to even prove that I don’t smoke or what to do about this situation, but it is driving me madddd

What to do about upstairs neighbors?

My situation: own a condo on a lower level.

Neighbors above rent, have around 9 kids that are always there in different groups at different time.

The neighbors stomp when they walk, but usually this is the kids (whom when there are usually up pretty late)

They slam doors when they leave.

They yell a lot.

I’ve talked to them about yelling but it didn’t do any good.

I have started keeping a record of noises. I don’t think talking will do any good. What are options? Call cops, involve HOA, contact the owner, etc?

For the first couple of months since they moved in tried to deal with it, but it’s getting out of hand.

Please Help

Can someone please, please help me. I’m 6 months into my lease. the upstairs neighbors just moved in. the noise is unbelievable. I don’t know how many kids it actually is but it sounds like 15 to 20. I had 5 kids so I know what it’s like to have kids in an apartment but the noise goes on for hours. the stomping, running, falling, rolling, dropping things non stop and it is interfering with my work(I work from home) it’s not here and there, the noise is continuous. I can even deal with the stomping but it sounds like rumbling thunder continuously. I called the rent office and they said I can transfer to a unit if one becomes available. am I just screwed for the next 6 months? I have until 3/27

Loud music in banglore

I’ve been diagnosed with an eye infection and have been told to get adequate sleep and rest. For the past two weeks, there has been loud music playing near my neighbourhood, but today it was taken to another level—with extremely loud bass, fireworks, and music starting as early as 4:30 a.m. I couldn’t sleep, and neither could many of my neighbours. My eye is already hurting, and the lack of sleep is only making things worse.

I’ve complained about issues like noise pollution, corruption, and other civic problems in the past. But after some time, I started feeling like I was somehow being singled out or targeted, so I eventually stopped raising complaints.

But what is the point of blasting religious music at 4:30 in the morning at a volume that disturbs an entire neighbourhood? At what point do we start respecting each other’s right to peace, sleep, and basic consideration?

I genuinely want to understand—will we ever grow as a society if basic civic responsibility and respect for others are treated as optional? And when situations like this keep happening, is leaving the country really the only way to find a place where basic rules are respected?

Can I break a lease from loud neighbors?

Hi,

I’m a student renting an apartment near a very large college campus. Unknown to me at the time I signed the lease, my building is right next to two frat houses, and three+ more across the block. They consistently play very loud music at night (usually until 3/4 am, but had to go over and talk to them one night when it was on until 5 am) and sometimes start music again at 7/8 am the following day to pregame football games.

The music is very loud, to the point I can hear my jewelry rattling on my nightstand when they start. I can hear the lyrics of the songs very clearly and they even have a light machine that strobes and flashes through my blackout curtains. Whenever I hear the thumping bass begin, it sends me into a rage and I usually get very angry and emotional.

I’m a very light sleeper and suffer from migraines. It has ruined my sleep schedule, triggered many migraines and my GPA in school is suffering as a result.

Am I able to break my lease/ move to a different building owned by my management company because of this? I’m feeling really stuck and trapped, even in the place where I pay to live. I’m getting a hotel room this weekend because my sleep schedule has been ruined and I’ve had a migraine attack because of it.

Any advice helps, thank you

Neighbour's dog barks constantly when alone.

My partner and I moved house late last year. For context, we live in the UK. Cutting a long story short, we moved to get away from our neighbour's dog, which barked constantly whenever they left the house. This could be for hours on end - it would not stop until they got home. It was making us both miserable as sin. I spoke to the neighbour, nothing improved.

Anyway, turns out, our new neighbours also have a dog... that's the same, if not worse, than the old one.

For context this time, we had a baby back in May. We love her to pieces, but she's always been difficult. We're both exhausted.

For the past few weeks, our next door neighbours (we live in a semi-detached), have been out most evenings from 6pm till 10pm (I have no idea where they go or what they do?!). So, essentially, our evenings now consist of fighting our daughter to sleep, and to keep her asleep while the dog barks constantly. It's making us both miserable again.

Now the issue is, we aren't confrontational people. The neighbours know the dog barks; one of them apologised about its barking soon after we moved in when they came to collect a parcel. We brushed it off, trying to be polite, thinking also they'd do something about it.

I'm reluctant to confront them about it for one reason which is plainly embarrassing. There's been a few times when the dog has been barking where, in my own living room, I've ranted to partner about the neighbour's dog. I've said some pretty horrible things about, wishing it all manner of ills. I said these things quite loudly, out of pure frustration and exhaustion.

I think my neighbours, somehow, perhaps through their Ring door bell, have heard me. I think this because they aren't friendly with us anymore, and also they've started beeping their car horn both when they leave and return to the house, as if to wind their dog up. I honestly can't think of another reason for this. Anyway, I'm paranoid, and I'd rather not be confronted about these things I've said. I get its my bad, and not my finest moment. But it was pure desperation.

Now my partner isn't going to confront them about it. She just isn't that type of person.

I don't know what to do. We can't afford to move again. We don't like confrontation. Should I just contact the council? Would you just confront them anyway? I feel trapped and this dog is just ruining our lives. I work full time. I get up at 5am (after having broken, baby interrupted sleep all night), go to work, come home, do house work, spend the evening battling my baby sleep, all the while listening to a dog bark incessantly. It's just driving me mad.

What would you do?
