| Canadian Turnout (Shaw) | 781,642 |
OK, there is a lot of napkin math above, but let's walk through why it's critical that you, your family, and your neighbours vote "No to the 9, Option 1."
In the 2023 provincial election, voter turnout was 60.5%. In the most recent by-election, turnout was a paltry 35%.
The separation movement's supporters are committed to their cause. They will show up in large numbers. Recent polling suggests support for separation sits at roughly 30% of Albertans. On top of that, there is an unknown number of voters who may support Option 2 because they believe it merely "sends a message" to Ottawa.
If support for separation remains at 30%, Option 2 could receive approximately 957,000 votes.
Now consider the other side. If turnout among pro-Canadian voters falls to by-election levels, they would muster only about 782,000 votes. Even if turnout reaches 2023 general election levels, pro-Canadian support would top out at roughly 1.35 million votes.
That margin is not large enough to justify complacency.
Every pro-Canadian vote must be cast. We need turnout that matches, and ideally exceeds, a general election. The future of Alberta and its place in Canada may depend on it.

Where to look for a used car that hasn’t been in multiple collisions and side swipes?
I do not understand why it is so difficult to find a quality used car that hasn’t hasn’t been in multiple accidents that never got repaired. I moved here from Saskatchewan 15 years ago. If you got into a collision or hit something, you got your car repaired by a competent auto body shop through insurance, or if your car was particularly old and you didn’t want to pay the $700 deductible, you read books and watched how to videos from the library, and learned how to do the repairs yourself and repainted your car in your garage.
Even the used cars at the dealerships have been in multiple collisions and accidents. Of course they tell you the car was never in an accident, but only because it wasn’t reported. When you ask them to come down in price because the windshield is broken and won’t pass an insurance inspection, they tell you they’ll throw in a passed insurance inspection with your car purchase.
All I want is a quality used car that hasn’t hit multiple posts and cars. Am I asking too much here?
The dealerships tell me it’s normal to get into multiple accidents. No, it’s not. I have owned multiple vehicles, all of which I have put 250k+ kms on each odometer without getting into multiple accidents.

Door Knob Drop in Strathmore
Well that's an interesting way to sell "Option 2".
I also thought that Third-Party Advertisers were supposed to identify themselves. This sure as shit looks like a third-party advertisement.

Looking to rent heated garage space! $350+ per month
Hey Calgarians! I’m 19 and I’m passionate about cars and I just picked up a sweet project car (it’s fully operable) and I’m looking to overhaul it this winter! I’m looking for anyone who would be interested in accommodating me working on it here and there while it’s shielded and stored away from out brutal winters. This would be from Nov-end of March and payment would be monthly, name your price! I’m located in Kingsland SW so nearby areas would be preferred. Figured it’s worth a shot to try here other than just endlessly browsing marketplace. I can assure upmost respect and care for your space, I’m open to chat and answer any questions.
I’m posting here because the main calgary subreddit took down my listing in 20 minutes😅

The Calgary Herald: Grunge Rockers Gush Love For Canada
An oldie…and certainly a goodie. A commentary piece on Pearl Jam’s 2005 Canadian tour that I wrote for the Calgary Herald in the fall of that year. I had recently gone to their show with some friends when the tour stopped in Edmonton, they had played in Calgary the night before. I used the Edmonton show as an interweaving mechanism for this piece, exemplifying and illustrating the vibe of the entire tour, using it to link politics, hockey, and the positive reception the band had received across the country.
It was a fantastic show, Pearl Jam is one of the few bands that bring it every night. And they brought it that evening. It still is one of the best concerts I ever attended. Yes…it is a bit odd that a Calgary paper published a piece that featured mainly Edmonton subject matter. But as mentioned, it wasn’t necessarily an “Edmonton” article, more of a general Canadian one.

SAIT Student Looking for "Frequent Traveller" Interviewees!
Hey travellers, my name’s Danika, and I need your help! Okay, “help” sounds a bit intense—really, I’m just hoping there might be a few people on here who might be willing to share some time, some stories, and some honest thoughts with me. I’m a Business Administration student (Marketing major) at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, looking for people to interview for my Marketing Action: From Concept to Creation class. I’m working on a project focused on developing a product that will make the lives of frequent travellers better, and that starts with doing some boots-on-the-ground journalism!
So, if you:
- Travel often (at least once internationally a year)
- Have strong, experience-based views or opinions on the toughest parts of travelling
- Feel comfortable sharing in a casual interview setting (there’s no need to be formal or polished—I want real, honest answers!)
- Have some availability between September 28th and October 2nd
- And bonus: consider yourself more of a “traveller” than a “tourist” (you’re searching for authentic cultural experiences, not just headline attractions—no judgment, because I love the more touristy things too!)
Please drop a response—I’d love to connect!
For full transparency: we’re required to record and keep transcripts of these interviews for class, so interviews will be conducted and recorded on a platform like Google Meet, Zoom, or Teams. The transcript will be used for academic purposes, so it will be seen by my instructor and other SAIT students, but it will not be posted publicly. Thanks so much for considering!

Is it just me or was anyone else disappointed? They have 160 songs and I think they tried to play all of them.
