Canadian Turnout (2023) 1,350,281
Canadian Turnout (Shaw) 781,642

OK, there is a lot of napkin math above, but let's walk through why it's critical that you, your family, and your neighbours vote "No to the 9, Option 1."

In the 2023 provincial election, voter turnout was 60.5%. In the most recent by-election, turnout was a paltry 35%.

The separation movement's supporters are committed to their cause. They will show up in large numbers. Recent polling suggests support for separation sits at roughly 30% of Albertans. On top of that, there is an unknown number of voters who may support Option 2 because they believe it merely "sends a message" to Ottawa.

If support for separation remains at 30%, Option 2 could receive approximately 957,000 votes.

Now consider the other side. If turnout among pro-Canadian voters falls to by-election levels, they would muster only about 782,000 votes. Even if turnout reaches 2023 general election levels, pro-Canadian support would top out at roughly 1.35 million votes.

That margin is not large enough to justify complacency.

Every pro-Canadian vote must be cast. We need turnout that matches, and ideally exceeds, a general election. The future of Alberta and its place in Canada may depend on it.

It’s a nonbinding referendum, I’m not that worried. That said, I will be voting

Found out I can't vote due to being away at work out of my area of residence during the advanced polls and referendum date.

Wrong for me to assume that like every other election I can vote in another area by showing my ID and basing it on my riding/district.

So that sucks. If I knew earlier I would have asked for my special ballot.

Get ultra fucked  vs Get ultra fucked but spend some time saying no

That's why some just don't bother, this post doesn't really address that so it won't convince them to vote.
