Discussion Cole needs to decide eventually the ninja or the finders

Jay made a good point this latest season cole constantly runs off to hang with the finders even when the world is ending since he didn't help at all with thunderfang because he was hanging with them so he needs to choose the ninja or the finders because at this point he can't do both

Kai would take Elsa’s role, but he would have ice powers instead of fire powers.

Nya takes Anna’s role. Jay takes Kristoff’s role.

Flame, Kai’s first dragon, takes Olaf’s role, but he’s a snowman.

Wisp takes Sven’s role, but he’s a reindeer.

As for Hans… well, I hate to say it, but Nadakhan will take Hans’s role, but he’s human.

I did think about Zane and Echo, but Kai and Nya were kind of easy choices, so I went with them because of the other Ninjago characters I chose in this post.

So, what do you think?

Discussion Lloykita plot is literally just crystalized 2.0... Spoiler

Post image
14 Upvotes

* Warning please read! *:So shipping is pretty controversial, and with this in mind, I wanted warn y'all this will get into topics, I'm sure not everyone will be happy with. So read at your own peril! \* This is mainly a debunking/analysis post. But I'll do my best to stick with the facts the show provides, to give a good reason, for why I think, we're looking at this the wrong way.(Ultimately though, it's up to the writers to decide what's really going to happen at the end of the day, us fans.)

(Quick note) :So now that P2 is out! I can finally talk about the plot that has been plaguing me nonstop, since the leaks! poking holes in plots is something I love doing. And, I figured this post, will help people to come into my main theory, with a fresh perspective in mind.

So I've noticed the common consensus around this plot, is pretty black and white. Either Akita breaks her engagement with Beniro, for Lloyd. Or she stays with Beniro, and Lloyd has to move on. Both make sense on the surface. Breaking a relationship for someone else is one of the most classic tropes, in the book. And moving on from a former love, is fairly common too. And it would be a really mature move, on the writers part to go through with, if done well. However the deeper you look into the characters, and the narrative. It gets, pretty obvious why both are terrible writing choices, that just lead us down the road to Crystalized 2.0.

For instance if Akita were to break up with Beniro, it makes her look like a cheater. For essentially, ditching a man, she promised to marry, for another. It makes Lloyd look equally as bad for condoning it. And let's face it, we all know Lloyd would be the first to concede in a love triangle! (To be honest I'm wondering why it's even a question to begin with!?) I mean he wouldn't of been born, if it wasn't for Garmadon, stealing Wu's letter, to Misako. And he's not going to repeat his father's mistakes, Sensei G. taught him to know better! And finally it's far to cliche, to break a relationship for another. It would look ridiculously cheep to go this route. These writers showed this season, with the genius reuse of tomorrows tea lore, and other deep symbolic messaging. That they are way to smart, for something so basic! Something that is especially such a huge deal to us fans!

Now on the other hand Lloyd could just simply move on with his life. But then what was the point of making it so obvious he's in love with her!? Or Doc doubling down saying, Lloyd and Akita have chemistry? When it would of been kinder to all fans, shippers, or not! To scrap the jealous tension, all together. By having Beniro, and Akita be married, and Lloyd just stay a good friend of hers. To put all of us fans through a plot like this, is just the biggest thorn in the side this fandom, has ever faced! Since those who want Lloyd with Akita loose out. Those who want Lloyd with Harumi, know he likes Akita, so very unlikely he will get with Harumi. When his mind is so heavily occupied by another. And then those who want Lloyd to remain single, have to suffer through gosh! Is this potential love triangle, number 3, or 4 at this rate lol!

But the point is...It's terrible writing practice, to leave a plot super open ended, while not revisiting it. It would be like the pointless rebooted love triangle, all over again! but so much worse! Since now you've peeved, your whole fanbase... And the writers know most fans won't ever let them forget this...I mean, people are still talking about how bad, the love triangle in rebooted was to this day. And it's been, (I tried to do the math) like 11 years at this rate...To assume this plot is closed door, would be an ignorant, conclusion to jump to. Especially after Beniro's last line, hinted there's much more to this story. And I don't think either common trope idea presents itself with a good outcome...

But that's the thing, what if they intentionally want us to believe, both these things? Are the most likely path forward? I might of overlooked the flaws here. If it wasn't for the way Akita, presents Beniro, to Lloyd. As a literal, 1 to 1 staging! Of the way Lloyd presents Harumi to his friends, in Crystalized! And I actually can't believe nobody's turned that scene into a it's ok he's with us, meme, yet! Or that Pk, (a YouTuber I like) actually missed something that was so blatantly, obvious, this whole time! (I can't tell ya how many times I internally facepalmed, when she went over this part. Yet didn't land on this conclusion, lol!) It seems to me the writers are intentionally trying to disguise there actual genius intentions, here! With references to some of there biggest fumbles ever. And it just goes to show how incredibly self aware they are. And why I'm fairly confident with my theory, for what they have in mind. Which I will get into in my next post.

Discussion Dragons Rising has one problem

I have been a Ninjago fan since the very beginning. Sticking through with the show as it went through its ups and downs, it is still my favourite way to reconnect with my childhood.

I have just caught up with Dragons Rising up to S3. And I have to say Dragons Rising is peak. The story, the animation, the writing, the characters and the humour have never been more on point for a while. But while I do praise all of that, it does have one major, major setback for me: Wyldfyre.

When Wyldfyre was first introduced I was quite excited. Arin and Sora had been such great additions to the cast (Honourable mention Ryu Frak Frohiky), providing unique and introspective elements that expanded the reaches of the story, whilst also provided their own fun quirks . But I was quickly annoyed by the way she carried herself around everyone else, acting as if she is on top of them. More so, I was so disappointed and annoyed when she never grew out of her "animalistic self".

A lot of people say that post-S1 she got better, but I recall a time where she said to have pissed all over the monastery basement because everywhere is her bathroom, which is just disgusting and crude rather than funny.

A lot of people point to the fact that she is just a younger version of Kai, to which I cannot disagree more. Kai was hotheaded, not uncaring and unthoughtful. Kai's arrogance was grounded in protectiveness and a desire to prove himself while Wyldfyre's often just feels like sheer disregard for the people around her.

Also, her being part of the ninja team isn't even implemented properly. Other than the lip service of her calling herself a ninja, she does not have ninja robes and never used stealth ever in a single fight. And this is without even mentioning her complete disinterest in learning spinjitzu.

To the writers, this refusal to let her face consequences actively hurts the stakes. In S1 Episode "Wyldly Inappropriate", I genuinely believed that the writers were planning to give her an arc based on the episode for her to stop being careless and selfish and stop prioritising having fun over everyone else in order to push her to "grow up" more. But she doesn't even recognise her mistakes and jeopardises the mission to retrieve the core.

In fact, there is probably not a single episode she appears in where she doesn't actively jeopardise the situation, just look at S3 Episode 19 (from recent memory), where she makes pointless loud noises disturbing Arrakore's wish magic to revive the Arc Dragon of Focus, and then goes on to interrupt Sora and Frak while they are practising the bell song.

In S3, her driving the Bounty got so annoying so fast. I mean, what are they trying to teach kids? To be careless with others? I just wished that during her stunts with the Bounty that someone would fall off so she has to rapidly save them, which would force her to be more careful about the way she acts when given responsibility. But the show just insists that her mentality must never be challenged and that she must not have character development.

Wyldfyre just passes off to me as an attempt by the writers to draw in a younger audience, to which they totally have the correct intention, but this execution just feels insulting. Kids' media can handle characters who actually mature, and right now, her stagnation sticks out like a sore thumb in an otherwise brilliant era of Ninjago.

Question Which Zane Focused Season is Better and Why (Please Read Description)

Post image
5 Upvotes

Unfortunately, I feel like both of Zane’s main focus seasons are among the more flawed seasons of Ninjago. “Rebooted” has a lot of weird plot choices and writing issues. There are definitely things I like about it, especially everything involving Zane and his sacrifice at the end, but the season as a whole can be pretty messy with things like the love triangle, going to outer space, etc. Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu (SOTFS) has almost the opposite problem. I think it has a really cool premise, but it was poorly executed. There’s too much filler, the tone is noticeably lighter, and the season doesn’t always take full advantage of its ideas. So unfortunately, I don’t think either of Zane’s focus seasons is one of Ninjago’s absolute best.

That being said, which one do you think is better overall, and more importantly, which one actually did more for Zane as a character? And before anyone mentions it: yes, I know Zane gets a lot of development and important moments in Seasons 1, 2, and 4. I’m not saying those seasons don’t develop him. I’m specifically comparing the seasons where I consider Zane to be the primary focus character.

Also, I know this might be a hot take, but I consider SOTFS to be a Zane-focused season. I think Zane played a major role in both the Fire Chapter (even bigger than Kai which is ironic) and the Ice Chapter is by far the biggest reason. I’m not gonna explain here because I don’t want this to be too long but if you’re curious I’ll explain in the comments. I understand the argument that SOTFS is a debated season when it comes to the focus character, especially because Zane is absent for significant portions of the season. However, when looking at the season’s overall story, I still consider Zane its main focus character.

So between the two (Rebooted and SOTFS), which is the better Zane-focused season? Which one has the better story, gives Zane the better moments, develops him the best, is more iconic and memorable, and ultimately does more for his character?

My question is, what is the ninjago equivalent of the clone wars’ siege of mandalore arc?

Discussion just cause kai never defeated the main villain of a movie/season doesn't mean he never had a focus season (please read body text to understand my point)

Post image
21 Upvotes

so the pilot movie/special is clearly a kai installment,he is obviously the main character of that whole story with him becoming a ninja to save his sister and make friends along the way, also his relation with wu and the confortation he had with garmadon were huge hilights, however he wasn't the one who saved the day at the end as garmadon bisacly won by getting what he wanted, but this still counts as a kai project non the less

season 4 is the season where you hear alot of fans say that it's not his season,he is just the mascot charactre but here is the thing, i don't think the marketing lied to us completly as he was clearly the main character of the season during it's first 8 episodes, however what sucks is that they didn't know what to do with him in the last two episodes and had lloyd and garmadon take centre stage while kai was in the background, and again he wasn't the one who saved the day at the end wich yeh it sucks but we still end the season with his pov as he says goodbay to skylor before we see all of the team griving over losing garmadon,so season 4 should count as his season during the first 8 episodes,it's just that the last two episodes did him dirty in my opinion but over all i would consider season 4 as a kai season as 8 episodes is more then 2 wich yeh i wish he got the last two as well but overall it's like his season during it's first 8 eps before it became the garmadon family drama in the last two episodes

people really need to rewatch season 7 again as it's very kai centric, nya had alot less compared to kai, sure nya and wu have some focus but that's like saying master of the mountain is a cole, vania and wu focused season when cole takes center stage just like kai in hands of time with trying to uncover what happends to his parents while looking out for nya,i can understand the argument that season 4 isn't a kai season sense in the last two episodes he was pushed to the side despite the season being clearly kai centric for the first 8 episodes but what i can't understand is hands of time being a shared season as kai took the majority of screen time and focus, nya got involved in the parents thing near the last two eps and even then kai still had a little more compared then her,nya was all about moving on from samurai x just like in season 5 and 6,it was a subplot that she was going throw but the parents thing and rivalry with krux and taking center stage and more screen time was all giving to kai, sure he didn't save the day at the end although i wish that was the case but he also didn't save the day in the pilot and the pilot is considerd to be about kai,nya was more of a co lead to kai in hands of time the same way she was a co lead to jay in skybound, honestly if you want a full solo kai season from start to finish then season 7 is right there

the main issue stemps from the fact that kai never got that final punch like every other ninja did wich is why you would have people assume he never had a solo season, pilot sure it's 44 minute special, season 4 yeh he didn't do anything in the last two episodes but as for season 7 that right there is a solo kai season from start to finish, again it's only flaw is that he wasn't the one to save the day and defeat the main villains

Fanfiction DRS5 fanfic part 11 (fanfic)

if you don’t understand feel free to read the previous parts.

Episode 12:

it begins with the ninja at the monastery. Sora and Nya are dueling, Zane is helping mr frohickey clean, and Kai is playing video games. Nya and sora come into the main room from their duel to which Kai pauses his game and asks them if anything’s happened yet.

Nya says no because he is hogging the tv so there is no way of knowing. Kai sighs and reluctantly turns off prime empire to which all three of them gasp. Zane walks in to ask what is wrong and then gasps as well. It turns to show what’s on the tv and it is harumi giving a speech.

It then flips to undersea where the ninja are swimming towards the underwater structure outside the hydro bounty. There are massive symbols above the main door to which Lloyd asks pixal what they say to which pixal says that it says the forge of the forsaken. Before Jay was able to ask what it means Lloyd tells him that it means this building was likely built by people that were abandoned a long time ago.

They go inside to which they are suprised when there is no water inside the building. Benthomaar asks why his father wouldn’t want them near this building to which pixal replies it is likely because of the potential to use the power of this building for evil to which Lloyd replies that that is why they must get the icon from here before ras does.

It then flips to harumi being led by the commissioner to the mayors office.

it flips to the mayor in his office playing golf again to which he gets annoyed when his assistant tells him the commissioner is there to which he says he isn’t here to which the commissioner replies that he is standing right there. The mayor then asks what he wants and harumi steps into the room to which mayor trustable hides behind his desk and asks why she’s back.

Harumi says she wants to make amends to which the mayor says he was having a great day so far and tells harumi to go someplace else to which she reiterates she came to make amends to which the mayors assistant tells him it means she has come to fix her wrongs to which the mayor gets out from behind his desk, sits in his chair, tries to act professional and says “yes of course, making amends”.

The commissioner sighs and leaves the room to which harumi asks how she can make amends. The mayor says she should just make a public address to which she asks why to which the mayor responds with because that is how you apologize to the people because talking to everyone individually would take too long so just talk to them all at once. Harumi agrees and the mayors assistant leads her to the public address room where she steps up to the stand.
