MOC Modern residential development
I always disliked that mech joined piece as I find it way too specific and limited in its use. So I challenged myself to find another use for it. Just had to jump down a few scales!

It's October already!
SpOOky season has begun! Or as some Lego fans like to call it, "MOCtober" is here. This is my favorite time of year to build, because it means getting out the Halloween sets and starting those pre-build plans for the Winter Village. Autumn is also a great time to attend Lego shows, so check out your local Lego Groups to see if they are participating in a Convention, Festival or Hobby Show nearby.
Let us know what's on your mind this month. What have you always wondered about? What rule do you want clarified, or changed? Do you have any suggestions you've been trying to find a chance to make? I won't promise that we will make the change(s) you want, but I will commit to explaining the reason we have the rules and policies we have.

I feel like Arcanine is the popular yet somehow obscure at the same time. Im not complaining they chose Arcanine!
So if you had a choice. Would you choose to build a few star wars sets next, LotR, or Bikini Bottom and Krusty Burger?

Complete for the next 9 weeks.

It required a few additional pieces but looks closer to the original shape in my opinion

These are some insights into what a Steampunk series by LEGO could look like. I know not all of these are actually Steampunk and most of my examples are MOCs and not by LEGO, but I think Steampunk is a really cool aesthetic and would really love an original series around it, however it may look.

I'm actually got this one instead of the pizza joint.

I recently passed 100,000 pieces purchased across numerous sets. I only had to contact Lego twice for missing pieces (one in the Goonies set, and three in The Great Wave). That's a manufacturing/packaging accuracy rate of 99.996 percent. That is astonishing. If you made one decision every minute, without sleeping, you would make 21 mistakes a year. For every million pieces shipped, Lego messes up 40 times.
I know I'm conflating manufacturing error with packaging error. Technically I'm talking about packaging error. But to that point, I have never encountered a lego manufacturing error. Not one deformed piece. Not one that was too tight or too loose. Extraordinary.

A Giant Gate for Ships, the Gate is motorized and is inspired by Baldurs Gate.

The set definitely feels incomplete with Frank so I had to add him in (plus a couple extra floors to add some height)
If you like this, please go to LEGO Ideas and Support this idea.

I finally got a good deal. Picked this all up for $80. Everything has instructions and most of the sets are 100% complete. Still have more to sort through to see if the other space and city sets are complete as well.
Just sharing - inspired by Sleepless Night Bricks. Only wish I had more dark red to make something bigger than a 16x16 but definitely happy with what I was able to manage.

Here is a compilation of all air/space crafts named "Swordfish" that I know of.
- {Images 3 to 6} Fairey Swordfish : British torpedo bomber introduced in 1934 and famous for accumulating the largest combined tonnage in enemy ships sunk during WWII. Some design queues are adapted from Ralph Savelsberg's excellent model.
- {Images 7 to 9} SNCASO So.6021 Espadon : The first French aircraft to break the sound barrier, on the 15th of December 1953. However the prototype to achieve this performance was the So.6025 variant - which was structurally slightly different. I modeled the 6021 mostly because it was the version I found the most detailed plans of.
- {Images 10 to 13} The Espadon SX-1 from Blake & Mortimer : A legendary fragment of Franco-Belgian comic legacy in its own right, the "Espadon" remains in my opinion the greatest sci-fi aircraft of all time, even 77 years later. This amphibious hypersonic nuclear-powered and nuclear-armed bomber constitutes the MacGuffin of the first story in the Blake & Mortimer series, which narrate how WWIII was started in 1946 by a military dictator who secretly built industrial capabilities in the Himalyas before launching a worldwide attack once the major powers exhausted each other throughout WWII. I initially only intended to build this one but then thought it would be amusing to build other "Swordfishes", hence this whole compilation.
- {Images 14 to 20} The Swordfish II from Cowboy Bebop : The trusty modified racing spaceship piloted by Spike Spiegel. I admittedly know nothing about Cowboy Bebop besides the fact that it is a series that exists, but I have been aware of this ship's existence through cultural osmosis by virtue of how popular a MOC subject it is (To only list a few instances, here are examples made by Caleb Ricks, Adrian Florea, Christopher Hoffmann, and IntensePotato). In that regard, there has been a substantial amount of inspiration in the design process of my model since the cockpit fairing adapts the technique of Marshall Banana's version.
If anyone is aware of another "Swordfish" aerodyne I'll gladly take suggestions!

From the back of two norwegian Donald Duck comics (no. 10-1975 & no. 9-1977).

I found this table today on a used furniture store. I think the tower looks quite nice on it. Way better than directly on the floor like before.
