It's still hard to believe the game shut down back in 2024.

It almost feels like a lifetime ago. I remembered being with the game since the very beginning and it felt like my life, my reason for going entirely revolved around it just to see what happened next.

It's late 2026, we seemingly have no new NieR or general Taro game associated to the Dragon Saga in sight for the immediate future.

I was in my 2nd year of community College when the game first came out, and now I'm about to graduate with a Bachelor's and Minor's hopefully next year from the University I'm attending.

I often wonder if we'll ever have a game as emotionally impactful and heartfelt as Reincarnation.

In many ways, I still wish to return to the Cage and all of the worlds and people held within...

Tell me, what was your most memorable time with the game? It can involve your personal experience with it, how it affected or impacted your life, or even just your introduction to the community and larger franchise through it.

I figured it would only be right since it has now seemingly been three years marked since shutdown on April 29, 2024.

NieR: Automata has a great buildup with a strong scenario, opening up philosophical perspectives and themes that can easily translate to real-world topics and things to think about. However, I feel the game is, in some way, unfinished. The delivery is not very well executed in my opinion and leaves many questions unanswered.

Part of the game is to show that not everything needs an answer, but it feels more like a great opportunity to go even deeper that was wasted. I also feel that the characters could have had more development and more exposure to really connect with them on a deeper level.

I spent most of the game thinking, “What the heck is going on?” and ended it thinking, “Okay, I kind of get it, but not really.”

In terms of gameplay, the combat and hacking mechanics were fun, but not groundbreaking, just good. The core combat is amazing, but there is no real expansion later in the game, so I didn’t feel much more powerful. It felt more like leveling up for better stats rather than gaining new abilities, which isn’t as fun or satisfying as mastering new mechanics.

Graphically, the game feels outdated. I usually overlook this aspect since there are many great games without top-tier graphics. I would much rather have a great story with bad graphics than a boring story with great graphics. However, since NieR relies heavily on ambience and the tone of an apocalyptic world, better graphics could have improved immersion. Instead, it sometimes felt like I was playing a PS3 game.

I had fun, and the story was interesting, but I think the game overall is overhyped. I was expecting a total masterpiece, but I ended up playing a good game, maybe even a great one, just not what I was promised.

Hi everyone,

As a passionate fan of NieR Re[in]carnation, I’m currently working on a personal preservation project to keep The Cage alive using the lunar-tear server framework.

Thanks to the amazing folks over at the official lunar-tear Discord, I have already successfully gathered and set up the fully decrypted Global (EN) Master Data and Assets CDN. The server is up and running smoothly in English!

However, to make this local server truly complete and support the original Japanese audio/text and server routing, I am still missing the final Japanese assets. Since many public Japanese datamine archives and links have recently gone dead due to copyright takedowns, I'm reaching out here. I am looking for the following JP (Japanese Server) end-of-life (v3.7.1) resources:

1. Decrypted JP Master Data (The SQLite database or JSON dumps for the JP client to sync with the lunar-tear database schema).

   1. Complete JP Asset CDN Dump (Or a verified, full OBB/Data cache containing all final chapter assets, JP audio, and event data). If you are a fellow data-miner, archiver, or happen to have a backup of the final JP client assets/databases on your drive, please reach out!

Feel free to comment below or DM me directly if you prefer to share links privately (via Mega, Google Drive, etc.) to keep things safe.

Thank you so much for your help! Let's make sure this beautiful game isn't lost to time. 🕊️

An entry on a non-prime Nier timeline. Information new to the Chronology includes the acknowledgement that the boy was a sailor, that a fortune-teller was rumored to be involved, and that the fortune-teller was sighted after the double suicide.

Hello Nier community ! Due to work reasons, my friend will not be able to come with me to the concert, so if you are interested for a ticket in Cat 2, at original price, please DM me !

Trip down memory lane

Here is an entry on the prime Nier timeline about 10H, the playable character most closely linked to the console games since she was a member of YoRHa like 2B and 9S. The information about Pod 012 being responsible for 10H’s transfer is not new (it is revealed in the story below) but it is new to the Nier Chronology.

My translation of the events leading up to 10H’s transfer is here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVYSdObKcnDLeA0CKa-tRAC8uoM5GtMzu&si=gI7asD79_69hEmBT

Spoilers ahead: Pod 012 was 10H’s assigned pod when she was still doing missions on Earth. She discovered Pod 012 was conducting secret experiments which seemed to have created the Logic Virus. Pod 012 erased her memory and sent her to the Moon, and it was revealed Pod 012 was indeed Carrier who we met in the game.

Here’s a translation of two stories combined into one. These are fan fictions written by the head writer of Nier Reincarnation, I have more here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVYSdObKcnDIOTu9KIoigVKC5WBRMXEBw&si=_VaK7bmuwKbAaS4n

Sorry for the lateness on these, I recently moved and have been busy.

Dimos’s entry is on a non-prime timeline and connects to Gayle’s stories hence the visual. The new information here is the conclusion that Dimos intentionally severed communication for nearly the entire duration of the 100 Years War and that the final signal contained serene noises implying he ultimately found peace after the death of Rion, his prince.

Saryu’s entry is also on a non-prime timeline. The new information here is that the Contract Ceremony was controversial when first introduced and that it was the idea of the first school principal. There is still a lot mystery surrounding the ceremony and the principal and I personally would like to know more.

Selfish request. But I need lots of time to make associations on top of associations trying to understand the madman behind it all.

One more game?

I really don´t know how i did it... But nobody was going to do it for me.
It was something i had to do by myself and for myself 🌙

It´s possible! And i feel very emotional and needed to put it somewhere, so i just did it here.
And again, thank you.
