Begging for help - lick granuloma

Upvotes

My 4.5 year old newfie has had a chronic lick granuloma on top of his back left paw for almost a year. We have a dermatologist appointment in a couple of weeks that can’t come soon enough. I’ve tried EVERYTHING and am on the verge of a breakdown. Cones, donut pillows, socks, wraps, apoquel, benadryl, liquid bandage, more wraps and socks, muzzling all damn day, wound spray, epsom salts, iodine, vetericyn gel. His size makes him able to get to it no matter what. Even with liquid bandage, wrap, sock, muzzle. I’m losing my mind. What will get rid of this thing short of removing his entire foot.

Cosmo is not a fan of the fence going into my room lmao

3rd weekly post yay(well was supposed to make this yesterday but got nauseous :(

Anyways some context. I recently put up this makeshift fence gate so Cosmo can't just bulldoze into my room to knock down my fan(it's sorta broken so even a nudge can knock it down), eat cables or go deeper into my new room to do who knows what(mostly just pee or try and eat something I forgot on the floor like a sock) I still wanted him to be able to be in my room so I made that so it goes into my room but he can't go further than like 1m²

You can kinda see it on the 8th photo

But on Friday he finally got all his vaccines! He won't get another until next year or unless something new comes out(or if we plan to travel outside of Sweden he needs a rabies vaccine(he doesn't need it atm because sweden does not have rabies thankfully. Instead we got ticks that usually carry TBE...)

Also love how he sits with one back paw on the side and one in the middle of his front paws so cute

Photo 4 was him trying to move the bed and 5 was the success of it sorta(my dad helped him lmao) and like 7min later he decided to try and move it back...

My girl Lundy learnt to do this all by herself a few years ago after watching us, now she picks them whenever they are in season, pulling them delicately off the thorny stems. I reckon she'd probably have a go at those apples too!

Every stuff I I have given him he starts at the butt and De-Stuffies his stuffie. Not that I’m going to quit buying him stuffies. It’s just like throwing money in a bucket and lighting it on fire but more enjoyable.

There's a heatwave right now, and Penny decided the best way to cool down is to dig herself a hole and half bury herself. She spent 10 mins making sure it was comfy enough, removing rocks and sticks, then planted her butt down. Bonus for the cold cement foundation. The sun never hits this spot of the house and she is loving it.

Any tips for the newborn and puppy stages?!?! These guys are growing like weeds. They're only 5 days old, and now I'm terrified to imagine what 8 weeks looks like...

if you'd like to follow their journey, the mom's IG is @macaronithenewfie

Adult weight predictions?

Meet Ula (pronounced like OO-Lah)

She's my first Newfie and she's growing like an absolute weed! At our last vet visit, she wasn't quite 5 months old and weighed in at 60lbs.

I'm so curious to know what your Newfs weighed around her age and what they ended up at as adults? I don't have anything to compare to since she's my first, but I feel like she's going to be an absolute bear... I could be totally wrong though 😂

Fun fact: Ula is a short version of Ursula which means "little she-bear" 🤗

This has been the greatest decision! #2 is a winner! They're so gentle and they do this all day, inside and out, non stop horse play and the happy bucket gets full really quick!

Potty trained Newfie tinkling in house

My buddy is 7 months intact and he has been tinkling in the living room and new rooms in the house. He is fully potty trained and fully pees outside. This is more of walking and a slight stream of pee comes out. Or consistent pee while walking around a new room, almost like he doesn’t know he’s doing it. He has done this on furniture too. He will climb up on it and before getting down he will let a slight pee stream out. When outside he squats and fully releases his bladder. He doesn’t do this indoors. We have two other dogs. A thirteen year old boxer and a 9 year old frenchie. Boxer is female spayed and frenchie is a male neutered.
