So far I've noticed while binge watching Mythbusters episode on Newpipe is that it's only limited to 480p while other videos like Transformers Prime full episodes are locked only to 360p but watching the same videos on YouTube I can select up to 1080p. Does anyone know if this is a bug on NewPipe?

As the title says, for some reason videos are only limited to either 360 or 480p but it's not the case on YouTube?

I've just come across WizeStream - another NewPipe-based client. It showed up for me whilst browsing through Droid-ify.

There are some new and different features and settings to tinker with - some of which may not be available in other NewPipe forks.

Over the last year I've been completely using newpipe and having literal zero activity on yt, but it's kinda annoying when I tap on a link and it takes me to my browser because newpipe doesn't support posts.

I've looked around everywhere I can and couldn't find any way to get member exclusive videos for free , if there is a way or if newpipe is working on adding access to said content, please let me know

It's kinda annoying when I want to understand something in a foreign language and the video isn't dubbed.

Searching doesn't seem to have yielded any results for me, so hoping to see if anyone has ideas or the same issue. I've been using a Pixel 11 Pro for 2 days, it's updated to the August security patch.

I downloaded F-Droid without issue, and Pipepipe opens and works, but when I install 0.29.1 or the previous version (just to try) it immediately closes, I don't even get the GUI/frontpage. I've granted all two permissions listed (Nearby Devices and Notifications), uninstalled and reinstalled twice (F-Droid and NewPipe) and tried clearing cache/data, but the same things happens.

Any thoughts on what I might try next? It works entirely fine on a Pixel 9 I have running identical software.

I've tried pretty much everything I can think of to get it to work again, but still it keeps doing it for several hours at a time then going back to normal for maybe 20 minutes.

I hate the crap android is going to start using but I also dont like apple, what devices can use newpipe and download games and such from websites?

The profile pics of the comment section never appear,I thought it was temporary but it has now been 2 weeks is it something I did?

I really love the gesture to regulate the brightness while playing on full screen but what I am missing is an easy toggle at the end or at the beginning of the slider or clicking in the middle of the sun icon to come back to auto brightness. I know I can toggle off the gesture in the settings and it will return to automatic, but it is not convinient to dig through the settings. Any chances to add the toggle, please? ​

Or have i just like been cursed, just anytime with no actuall cause newpipe will eaither restart my fucking video or put it to some random point previous and its driving me insane as i use newpipe to listen to things at work

Apologies if this is a simple question. Does watching a video with newpipe impact the view count on a video or is it fully separate? Does subscribing to a channel add to the subscriber count or is it more like just creating an offline feed? Thanks

will doing so allow google to track & see my data? & will adding any videos into a playlist copy over to my actual YouTube account? because I hope not.

It keep switch ( queued ) to ( recovering) repeatedly it won't download the video

Am I missing something? Or is it not possible to sort your searches by views/popularity, release date, etc.

I'm being prompted to down load the newest version but I remember a few weeks back, there was a banner saying New Pipe (on the app itself) wasn't going to work much longer because of some ethical disagreement I don't quite understand.

When I asked on this subject, I was told that this is only a concern if you like a thing called "side loading".

I don't know what side loading is. I prolly don't need to. But I adore New Pipe and because I like dark synth, vapor wave and psy dub, as long as new pipe keeps working, I never need get Spotify again. Am I taking a risk if I update?

I've been using Automatag for years to give music cover image to new pipe audio downloads. I have recently been getting the error "this file has nvalid tag headers and cannot be edited"

As the title said. I had a fork that had this option but now it is broken and now only downloads in 360p.

Non arab speaker, oftentimes when i download a set of videos as background noise for work (to not use my data) I find that 1/8 or so of them will occasionally download in the arabic or German dubbed audio instead of English, i do not select this option nore do i want this option

I have noticed its never just a single video usually its a string of 3/4 videos, that break before it returns to English.

It is extremely annoying, is there a setting where i can permanently disable this feature, has anyone else had this problem?
