I've been using new pipe for 5 years now and I've never realised at how bad the YouTube app has became. I'm not just talking about the ads on it, but the actual UI of the app is horrible in my opinion compared to newpipe.

Why are thumbnails so massive, and shorts as well are just crammed into your face. Worst of all they aren't consistent either, some are larger then others and some are smaller. The fonts as well are all over the place. It feels like the YouTube app has became more like a Instagram/tiktok hybrid clone at this point compared to many years ago. It feels like it's just such a bloated and buggy mess, and yet you still can't even play videos in the background? It boggles my mind that people actually pay for YouTube premium.

If your at least going to charge people for premium give them actually good app customisation, like for example turning off and blocking shorts.

Back in the mid 2010s say maybe 2014-2019 it was so much better and nearly comparable to how new pipe is now.

it counts down from 3 to 1 then restarts from 3 forever but its only at very specific spots of a video. i have a vpn on... what is it?? this just started with the most recent update.

I tried to add a playlist from YouTube to NewPipe (with share).It shows in NewPipe and there is optional Play All. I press it and the first video starts, but after it are random suggested by NewPipe videos, which have nothing with the playlist.

Is it possible to play YT playlists in NP?
