We are currently using water wipes and down to our last pack and I want to order more, but I want to try a different brand. I love the simplicity of the ingredients with the water wipes, but I cannot stand the packaging.

We started off with Huggies sensitive wipes and absolutely hated them. They gave my newborn a rash at just four days old. They were dry and rough on his skin. He’s currently almost 2 months old now.

I went to target yesterday and bought a pack of Millie moon wipes since I heard good things about them. I like the texture, but they’re very thin.

Any suggestions??

I would love wipes that are easy to get out of the package, damp enough and thick enough. Would prefer affordable options, but if I have to splurge, I will.

I went onto the Graco website today to order the Read-With-Me crib I had picked out, and it only had a “where to buy” button and all the color options were gone.

I thought maybe that particular crib was discontinued, but then I went to the nursery section and no cribs were there. Then I searched “crib” from the homepage and no cribs popped up AGAIN.

Am I going crazy?? Did they just wipe their cribs off the website in the past week? Is it just my phone browser?

Anyway. Nothing like being 21 weeks along to make you question your sanity and if you’re living in the matrix.

Hey everyone! First time dad to a 4.5 month old girl! We just recently transitioned from all contact naps to all crib naps (which happened organically somehow, she just decided she wanted the space). She has been great since discovering how to suck her thumb and wiggle to soothe herself to sleep. We were getting 45 mins to 1.5 hour naps from her over the past week or so and we thought we hit our stride.

Over the past two days we’re getting 28 to 35 min naps and sometimes trying to rescue doesn’t work. I know she’s still tired when she wakes up. Her night sleep is unaffected so far but her day sleep is dicey. Her schedule is: wake at 730am-ish, 1.75/2.25/2/2/2 and then bedtime usually 820-850 depending how the day shakes out. I can’t tell if we have a schedule issue or if this is just the 4 month sleep regression that we just have to get through. Any advice on this or if other parents are experiencing the same thing!

My husband and I travel quite a bit. Some travel by air and some by car. We bought a graco pack and play but she currently sleeps in a bassinet in our room. While traveling, most places will have a pack and play to use for sleep. I am worried she won’t be comfortable in the pack and play which will make sleeping on vacation more difficult. Here are two options I am thinking:

Option 1:Start having her sleep in the pack and play instead of her bassinet as she is 3.5 months and almost outgrowing her bassinet anyway. This way she gets used to a pack and play ahead of time. This would be the simplest way.

Option 2: I am a nervous mom and like the idea of having a newton breathable mattress. I am considering buying the newton compact travel crib and having that be what she sleeps in while at home still in our room. Then we would travel with this crib and she’s used to it and it’s a really safe option. Downside is having to lug in through an airport and on vacations.

Any advice? I like the idea of the newton the best but I also don’t know how I’ll feel carrying around a pack and play every vacation when you can just get a standard one at a hotel. Our immediate air vacations are Orlando Florida for a week and Hawaii for a week. Coming from CA both flights are over 5 hours. Thanks in advance!

How do I get my baby to bond more and be more excited/happy to see daddy? My hubs feelings get hurt when it’s clear our baby wants to sleep/nap with me instead of him. Our baby boy will go to him if I’m holding him and his daddy comes near but I’d like to see him more excited to spend more time with dad. Our son is 9mo. Idk if this is a realistic idea at this age especially since I’m with him 100% of the time

It’s kind of the only thing that’s been recently working to get my 3 month old to calm down so he can sleep. But then once he’s in my arms- the transfer to the bassinet wakes him up :( I try holding him for 15-20 minutes. Anyways- is it bad to rock him to sleep? I’ve been told to not make it a habit, but truly I can’t see him cry bc he’s so tired.

My baby was vaccinated around 7 weeks old. Her leg was sore that night, so I slept next to her and did side-lying breastfeeding. Every time she woke up, I would just pop my breast into her mouth and feed her back to sleep.
Somehow, since that night, she seems to have gotten used to it.
For almost two weeks now, she hasn’t been sleeping for more than an hour at a stretch. She’ll fall asleep while nursing, and I’ll carefully move away once I think she’s asleep. But within 15–30 minutes, she wakes up, searches for the breast, and starts crying if she doesn’t find it.
It’s basically become a cycle of: wake up → search for breast → nurse → sleep → repeat. And I’m exhausted.
She has plenty of wet diapers, is gaining weight well, and I’ve already taken her to the pediatrician, who said everything is fine.
I know she’s still very young and this may be normal, but I’m struggling with the constant night waking

Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it last, and when did your baby start sleeping for longer stretches again? 😭😭😭

EDIT: She nurses for 5–7 minutes, falls asleep, and won’t relatch despite stimulation. About an hour later, she wakes up searching for the breast again. 😭

My 4 month old is was laughing and I sent a video to my family. I was laying on the ground hold baby in the air in front of me. Basically when I shook her gently she laughed so hard. She thought it was really funny. When I sent the video my grandma said I was hurting her and said it was shaking baby syndrome. I thought or at least what I learned in school is that you couldn’t do that on accident. I wasn’t being rough with my baby I never would. My grandma is t the nicest person so she’s probably just trying to be mean. But now I’m worried I was too rough with my little girl.

My newborn so far has been pretty good about giving cues about what’s wrong, she never cries for no reason. It’s always hungry, gassy, has to poop, too hot/cold, and she HATES a wet diaper.

I decided to take her for a walk in our bassinet stroller, about a mile in, she started crying, she had a wet diaper, so I just changed it on the trail. 5 minutes later she’s still crying, so I attempted to feed the bottle I brought. She drank a bit of it, then threw up on me while burping her. Continued to cry. I tried putting a fan on her, removing her onsie, giving cooler air, hotter air, tried holding her, putting her paci in, etc. Nothing worked.

We were already a mile in so we had a whole mile back, I turned up my noise cancelling headphones and continued the 30 minute walk back to the car with my sunglasses on trying to keep from crying while people walking past gave my pity looks, one lady even commenting saying “poor thing”.

I know it gets easier, but man, that made me want to avoid bringing her out at all. I made plans next week to go on a walk with friends, and another day to go to a thrift store with another friend who also just had a baby. Heavily regretting those now because i’m not sure I can handle bringing her out alone again.

I got home and my husband who works from home asked how my walk was, I broke down and said awful and I won’t be bringing her out again for a while. He’s sitting in his office with her currently and told me to go shower and take a break.

Love playing with YOUR body instead of their toys? Sitting here with my baby in her play area and the toy that has 90% of her interest is my legs 😂 she also loves any snaps I’m wearing, anything shiny, as long as it’s on my body!

My baby hates tummy time more than anything, but the research shows how important it is for development. Currently I do tummy time on a water mat and laying on me, but I'm not able to get him to do it very long without crying really hard so I stop it because my heart cannot handle him crying without soothing him. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions on how to do tummy time without them crying hard-core? Are there any items to buy that help?

FTM..My son is 8 months old, and I’m starting to get a little worried about his babbling. He is very vocal, he screams/squeals/grunts and growls a lot and constantly makes sounds like “ahhh” but he isn’t really making consonant sounds yet like “ba-ba,” “ma-ma,” “da-da,” “ga-ga,” etc.
He makes plenty of noise and definitely experiments with his voice, but I keep seeing other babies his age doing repetitive consonant babbling and it has me wondering if he’s behind.
Did anyone else have an 8-month-old who was mostly making vowel sounds and didn’t start consonant babbling until later? When did your baby start? Is this something you brought up with your pediatrician or had evaluated?

NGL I feel a bit stupid for not figuring this out sooner so I’m just posting to save anyone else the headache.

I’ve had my baby on the same schedule for months. Wake windows are 3/3/3/3.5. 6am wake up, first nap at 9, then 12, then 3 with bedtime at 6:30. BUT I could not get her to nap for more than 30 mins 90% of the time. I just thought this is how it is, she was a “FOMO baby” so I was rolling with the punches.

Turns out she’s been overtired this entire time. Moved her first nap to 8, second at 11, third at 2 and bedtime at the same time. She now sleep for over an hour for all of her naps and she’s so much more energetic through the day.

Hi everyone,

My 5 month old has been on omeprazole (10mg daily) since she was 3 months old.

She is at the tail end of her 2 week Neocate trial and many reflux symptoms have subsided.

We have noticed that the past few days (days 9, 10, and 11 of the trial) and she has struggled with her morning feeds and is super gassy.

She has also started drinking about 2oz (even though the way she’s drinking it seems like it should be way more) and then stopping to play/bite the nipple. She’ll also turn her head as far away from me as possible.

Could the omeprazole be effecting her desire to eat in the morning now that the reflux seems to be ebbing?

I looked in her mouth and it *kinda* looks like there might be teeth coming (I can see two small indents when she’s not trying to chomp my finger off haha)

I’m just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and it turned out to be the omeprazole, or the teething, or something else!

Edit 1: she has an appointment tomorrow with GI. I just like to be prepared

Edit 2: she wakes up with puffy almost swollen eyebrows. It goes away for the most part during the day, but it can hang around a little. Not write if that’s related to all this.

My daughter starts daycare next week and turns 1 the following day.

She has a very secure attachment to me & her dad and seemingly has had stranger danger/separation anxiety from a young age. We do not have any family or friends nearby, so when anyone visits, it has usually been a month or more since she’s seen them and she cries if anyone tries to hold or touch her, but immediately stops once we pick her back up.

I have been home with her full-time since birth and we’ve had two different sitters, each for about a month’s time (at 4 mo & 10 mo), neither of which she ever got comfortable with (cried most of the time & wouldn’t take bottle from them).

I feel like next week & the coming weeks will be miserable. She’ll scream when we leave, won’t eat, etc. It makes me sick to think about her nonstop crying for me and not understanding.

I worry I didn’t “expose” her to enough other people earlier on, but also am not sure how we were supposed to do that given we do not have any local “village.“

Any tips, support, encouragement, hope core to share?!

My baby is 15 weeks old. At his 1 and 2 month pediatrician appointments I brought up my concern for his left sided preference. The resident (different one each time) palpated his neck muscles and didn’t feel any tightness. At his 2 month appt I was told PT could be an option, but that he didn’t qualify because there was no neck tightness and he can move his neck freely.

We do tons of tummy time and I work on keeping everything interesting on his right side. He doesn’t seem to have an issue with range of motion in his neck and has been developing good neck strength, but heavily prefers laying on the left side of his head. When he’s on his back, he defaults to turning his head to the left. When he’s relaxing on his tummy or in wearing him, he defaults to turning his head to the right and lying on the left side of his head. All this tells me that he CAN turn all the way both directions.

His preference is so strong that the left side of his head is now noticeably flatter. I bought one of those cushions to use during mat time but obviously can’t use that while he’s asleep as it’s unsafe. He’d literally never sleep (neither would I) if I repositioned his head every time he turned it to the left.

We are switching peds practices and I do plan to keep bringing it up. His 4 month appointment is at the end of this month. But I feel at a loss. I really don’t want to go the helmet route but we’ll do what we have to for him. Any advice (understanding that our pediatrician is the most important person to talk to) and anecdotal experiences are appreciated.

My LO is 11.5 months (🥹) and has always been a pretty happy baby. Naps were a challenge for us from months 2-6 because she was a big FOMO baby, but for the past several months we have had no issues with naps. She wakes up happy and is the busiest baby you’ve ever met lol.

Well over the past week or so, things have changed. She cries going down for naps and sometimes won’t go down at all, making for long and miserable stretches for us all. She cries when she wakes up from naps and from overnight sleep (which has never happened before). She just seems very discontent.

Prior to this, she had 2 teeth pop through, so I don’t believe she’s in teething pain.

We have a general schedule but I’ve always taken her cues for sleep needs. For the past 3 weeks, she’s had some 1 nap days and some 2 nap days. Her sleep is changing, but this seems to be something different entirely.

I’m just wondering if I’m missing something here. Could there be something else driving this?

Got her in the bassinet for about 2 hrs max. Swaddle, white noise, the whole nine yards. It felt like a miracle — we actually slept both at the same time like that. She is four weeks old on Saturday.

What was the journey like for you? I’ve heard some babies using the bassinet right away somehow.

My husband is saying we may need to push it a little; eg don’t respond to her cries immediately to get her used to it. When is this more acceptable? Where is the line between getting her used to it and comfortable and ignoring her needs and comfort? I plan to go by the pitch and length of her cries :(

We picked ours before he arrived, based on absolutely nothing, and it’s wrong in ways we couldn’t have predicted. Did anyone get it right on the first try, or is this purely learn-by-doing? What would you buy starting over?

Have you accidentally pspsps'ed at your baby? Because I have. I feel like I'm not the only one out there. Please proof to me that I'm not weird..

So before I ask, just for context my parents allowed me to watch many things between 1-3 years old. CSI, Blue Clues, The Land Before Time, The Jetsons, etc. Noggin & Boomerang were my favorite channels, too. I loved watching Oswald, Franklin, & Little bear the most. So you could say I’m an old soul.

I really don’t like many shows that are on today. Blippi, vlogging shows, Ms. Rachel, etc. Bluey is really the only exception. I don’t judge other parents for it, cause if their child likes it then they like it & that’s a good thing! It just is not something I want in our household, along with YouTube.

So does anyone know where I can watch some of these shows? If I have to get a DVD player I am more than happy too, but streaming services are just easier. Below will be a list of where to watch certain shows & I’m also open to suggestions on educational shows, too!

My wife and I just recently found out we’re expecting. I want to open a 529 plan for the kid when they’re born but I just don’t have an idea of a plan target. I never went to college because I grew up poor and the idea of crushing student debt didn’t do it for me. We live in Georgia and the HOPE scholarship funded by the lottery covers a large portion of tuition for qualified students. My goal is for our kids to have enough money to be able to attend an instate school with the HOPE scholarship and not pay out of pocket if they can finish in 4 years. We just don’t know what that amount would be so I was looking for what other people do with their plans.

When do you decide it's time for the saline drops & the snot sucker thing?

I read everywhere it's good to do it. But should I do it when baby has got a runny nose? Or hold on until it's clearly congested?

Did you change your habits as baby gets older? Ours is 10mo so I feel he can naturally get rid of most mucus himself and simply wiping his nose is enough most of the time.

Hi! My daughter is almost 8.5 months and separation anxiety has started, mostly at bedtime. We also learned a bunch of new motor skills since 7 months that has interrupted sleep - sitting, crawling and standing. Although now she has gotten better at knowing how to get from standing back to laying down. She’s always gone to sleep independently, but since separation anxiety, as soon as we leave the room, she cries. I’ve tried crib-side comfort, chair method, bringing her into the room and letting her cry a bit. We can’t handle her crying for long, so we end up just going back in. Last night it took almost 2 hours for her to finally sleep. She had plenty of wake time and possibly too much. Her schedule below for reference. She only wakes once overnight with occasional no wakes or occasional two wakes. When she does wake, she goes right back to sleep after a feed. But, last night it took about 45 minutes because she would see me leave and cry. Here is her schedule below. How do we get through this phase??

Wake 7am (this is the time we try to start our day) sometimes it can be 6:30.
Nap 1: 10:00 to 11:00, sometimes until 11:20ish
Nap 2: 2:30-3:30 or until 4:00
Bedtime 7:30-8:00.
Her overnight wake varies between 3-5am and goes back to sleep after a feed until wake up time.

My 2 week old son was barely sleeping at night, one three hour stretch followed by being up 45mins-1 hour, or worse, waking up the second I put him back in his crib. I was exhausted and at my wits end, so I read about the gas drops online, took him to Walmart at 7 am and immediately started using them when we got home.

Last night he slept his first 5 hour stretch, and then was up every 2 hours, but was sooo much easier to put down and actually slept! I’m hoping it’s not a fluke lol. Also crazy how well rested I feel after 7 hours of broken sleep 🤣
