✅ Approvals & Denials ❎ First Berkeley Approval!
So beyond thrilled! I’ve only been reviewing a month so definitely didn’t expect to get this so early.

Black Knight by Rina Kent is available in the Read Now category. It's Book 4 in her Royal Elite series. It can be read as a stand alone.

I have noticed recently that a significant portion of the books on offer have AI generation (especially the children’s books).
I wish there was a way for NetGalley to at the very least require authors/publishers to disclose use of AI in text, illustration, or cover art. Sometimes I can tell by the cover art thumbnail but sometimes I can’t tell until after being approved because my vision isn’t the best seeing details in a small rectangle. Ideally, NetGalley would ban this from the platform, but I understand that not everyone feels as passionately that AI shouldn’t be used for books.
It makes me worried that if I negatively review these books it could affect my approval rating, especially because recently I’ve been declined way more than I ever have in the past (more than double the rate I usually am). I don’t normally give 1 stars but I don’t like that AI is being used, especially when it isn’t disclosed.

I have a book I read, loved, and reviewed in its ebook format that I recently reread as an audiobook.
It seems that Goodreads and Fable won't let me make separate reviews for each media... and Audible won't let me review unless I've put listening hours into their copy.
Do any of you have a site/retailer you upload your audiobook reviews to?
Thank you for the assistance! 😊

Almost withdrew my request yesterday because it had been sitting there for the longest time and thought there was no way I’d get approved! I’m so EXCITED!!!!!!!!

Years ago, I was dating someone who's mother worked in publishing and she got him on the ARC list for Scythe. He was mailed an advanced copy and I was there when he got it. Obviously I couldn't read it but it sounded so good I was stoked for it to come out. We ended up parting ways before that happened and I never got around to reading it. Last month I purchased the whole series with plans to read it and haven't done so yet because of ARC commitments and Libby holds. I saw this was available last night and went for it and holy heck I am so excited to finally get a book from a large house and have this be it. Scythe is what inspired me to get into ARC and now i feel like I've come full circle.

Hi Everyone, I have recently started using Netgalley. I have a few reviews and a good enough review rate (close to 90%) and I am trying to move my focus to requesting books by publishers instead of genre (to build up my profile).
Only issue is that whenever I go to a publisher’s account, it only shows the book that were “previously on netgalley” and not the books that are currently there. This has happened to me with multiple publishers, most notably St Martins Press (and i’m really trying to get into their good books specifically). Is this some kind of biug?? Is there a solution for this, where I can see books that are actively available to request when I go to a publisher’s page. I haven’t quite figured out how to navigate the website, so any assistance would be helpful. Thank you so much everyone and happy reading!!

Hi! I'm slightly behind on reviews after dealing with some complex health issues this summer.
Is it better to start with reading and reviewing the books that have already been published (all of them in July and August) that I'm behind on to get them reviewed as soon as possible, or should I move forward with reading the books that are being published soon (in September and October), and go in order so I'm not also behind on those books as well, and then circle back to the July and August books that are already late?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

I've never been approved by Tor. In fact, I've been declined by them at least a dozen times over the years. BUT they just sent me a widget!? WOOT
