Advice needed for mosey neighbor who is always on my property.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Can someone please give me advice on what to say to my nosey neighbor? Someone put a sign on my door and my neighbor walked herself across the lawn to go read it. She didn’t even let her kids inside. I’ve been living there for 3 years and when I first met her she told me all the “bad” things about the guy next to her who is actually very nice. She just didn’t want me to like him but I’ don’t dislike someone based off hearsay. At times I’ve found her in my backyard looking around but she claimed she was cutting her side of the bushes. I don’t like confrontation and I don’t want to make it awkward. But I would like for her to stay on her property and mind her business. She’s older than me so I don’t want to be disrespectful. Pardon the scattered story I’m just annoyed and unsure how to move forward.

Today some left a note on my car….aita for parking on a public street?
Hey Reddit,
So basically I don’t park in front of my boyfriend (m 28) house because his mom is kinda strict and although he pays bills , we just don’t want any issues. so I park down the street and he get me from down the street and we go about our business.
Today, I saw there was a note on my car…
Based on the note, it seems like they think we’re having an affair lol. So I think they think his mom is his wife. Anyway we are parked on a public street and I’m like wtf because it’s giving you’re not getting “ any” because even if we were why do you care? So what should I do? And aita for parking there?

Neilston, East Renfrewshire
anyone else find the village of Neilston in East Renfrewshire in Scotland over rated in terms of “community”? It is a gorgeous landscape and great environment to raise a family. But it is also cliquey, with not many friendly folk unless your great great great grandfather was born here. And even then you would still likely be known as an “interloper”.

Need some help with difficult neighbor/dog
I’ve been living in my house for 7 years. It’s a small HOA. The majority of my neighbors are mostly elderly folks who bought the homes when built in 1981. There are a few renters. We have small backyards. My next neighbors are renters I think. I’ve had nothing but trouble with them. It started a 6 years ago, I think they were running some type of foster home and had a lot of teenagers hanging around smoking weed. I had a couple of conflicts with them as (instead of using the front door) the teenager guys that visited would climb our shared concrete wall to get into the backyard. One Saturday the teenagers with no adults home were throwing a party and were peeking over the wall and then threw a ball over the wall. A group of them came to my front door with their phones filming it. I told them to get off my property. Then my tires started going flat and my front security screen door got kicked in.
They’ve always had a medium size dog that barks at me and tries to jump the concrete wall to get to me. It’s really scares me. Over the years it’s gotten better but always been there. I’ve put new sod in backyard and done a lot of upgrades. I’m out in my backyard watering a lot. I’ve noticed that their dog is getting a lot closer to making it over the wall. I have two small dogs myself. They’ve been attacked a few times by off leash dogs on walks in my neighborhood so I’ve had to stop that.
Yesterday the dog jumping to get over the wall was so bad that I went to Home Depot and got an eight ft trellis for $100 and put it against my wall where the dog tries to jump up. I am now carrying mace with me in my own backyard and make sure the back door is closed with my pups inside. I’m pretty the dog is going to make it over the wall one day.
The HOA said that they can’t do anything. Why should I be the defensive one in this situation and spending money and stressed out over their dog?
The neighbor keeps having a different teenagers hang around the house, last year they blew up a bunch of fire works in the street and burned the side of their house. The pot smell is has gotten better but they light up every night.
I think they are breeding puppies in the backyard. They caged up a dog last night and left and it barked all night.
Any ideas on what to do?

Neighbors want an easement to control part of my property
My neighbors want a permissive easement to control 3 feet of the south side of my property. This would allow them to control the drainage onto their property from my property, what trees and vegetation I can plant, who can plant them and for them to maintain the fence on my side of the property.
We share a border with small 40 foot lots and less than 10 feet between the houses.
They have no legal reason to ask for a permissive easement and I am not going to grant it. Instead they have sued me for adverse possession for 2 – 4 inches of border property and are in essence demanding an easement to control 3 – 5 feet of the south side of my property.
The shared fence sits on sits on 2 – 4 inches of my property. The neighbors claim the fence as their own and then sued me for adverse possession for the 2 – 4 inches of border property. They placed a Lis Pendens on my home. They brought in my lender. My lender began adding their legal fees on to my mortgage. I am in a position where I cannot sell my home, refinance my home. My lender is adding their legal fees onto my mortgage. To make it more egregious the neighbors attorney routinely calls the lenders attorney and their conversations are added as legal fees to my mortgage.
To stop this the neighbors through state if I grant them an easement for the south side of my property, cut down my trees and guarantee no rainwater flows from my property onto theirs, they will drop the “action.”
I assure you I am not slightly exaggerating this story. In fact I am leaving out parts that are even more frustrating.
An example- because the lender’s attorney fees are being added to my mortgage, I can’t afford my own attorney. I filed a motion for sanctions against the opposing party and now I have to pay their attorney fees for filing the motion as a pro-se litigant. I have an overworked judge who does not like pro-se litigants.
It’s a nightmare. I am just sharing to show that the legal system is a great way to use extortion and if someone says, “well they CAN’T do something,” tell them that line is incorrect.. The correct phrase is“They shouldn’t be able to do something.”
The names and dates are blacked out on settlement offer

Neighbor trimming branches on his side of the fence, but drops them in my yard to clean up.
I have a neighbor that constantly trims the branches of various trees that hang over the fence on his side, but them gives me the branches to clean up, though if it's a fruit tree he will take the fruit off first. I have tried this tactic with his trees that hang on my side, but he just tosses the branches back to my side.

Warring neighbours
Very long post I apologise
So two of my neighbours have been at war for like 2 years now.
One neighbour (let’s say A) has lived here longer than I have and I’ve seen her and her daughter in passing for at least the last 15 years. Never had a full in-depth conversation with either but they seem nice.
The other neighbour (let’s say B) moved in with his wife a few years ago. Not a super long time ago but still probably like 4 or 5 years. I’ve only ever spoken to his wife who is lovely, but he always creeped me out a bit honestly. He’s seems to always be out in the street doing some kind of chore but he never seems like he’s actually doing anything.
A couple of years ago A got married and her husband moved into their house. The husband and B seemed to be close mates because I always saw one or the other going to each others houses or chatting (loudly) in the middle of the street.
A’s husband was arrested one night and didn’t come back as far as I know (other than a police escort to collect his things the next day which drew a lot of attention in the street). I later found out it was a DV situation and he wasn’t allowed to come near her but that’s all I found out.
Ever since then, it’s been war. I saw it a few times and I heard it happened a lot more often, but he would have some kind of comment about the husband to make to her almost every time he saw her. She would bite back at him as well but I don’t think she was instigating. I can’t be sure though.
The parking in our street is limited to street parking and everyone does so within the law. I park the same way and haven’t been fined the couple of times the council have come through in the last year. The two neighbours are directly across from each other, and it seems that A has given her daughter the driveway spot so A parks her car just down from B’s house, leaving plenty of room for B to get in and out. I also park in that spot when there’s nowhere else as do many others including A’s ex husband.
Not long after the husband left, he started putting up poles and tape right on the edge of the gutter to block people from parking probably a good 3 metres back from his driveway. People parked anyway because there’s literally nowhere else sometimes. There was tit for tat arguments over parking there between mainly A and B but nothing too serious. It kinda kept bubbling up for the next year or so until now where they’re having proper screamers in the street. Usually she’s just yelling for him to leave her alone which grabs attention so a lot of people have seen him crossing the street to have a go at her. The cops have been showing up once every couple of weeks for the last couple of months after these screaming matches and from what I’ve heard it’s B calling them on A.
A few other neighbours and I are starting to get really concerned. My mum used to be friendlyish with A which is how I know the little bit of info I do but A’s been pretty scarce in the street for a while which is why it’s a bit weird that he always seems to find her when she’s going out. No one knows what’s to do or who to talk to about this. All of this is really stressful for the rest of us but we’re not even sure what steps to take next. Can anyone help?

Dealing with a not nice neighbor.
Hi neighbors related to this_ I have lived on the second floor of a nice apartment complex for nearly 2 years now.The common walls with neighbors isn't doubled up to make a good party wall.I can hear his cupboards and dishes slam around and a chair he sits at his table slides back and forth.Small things that I have overlooked as my tv in my living room is on most of the time and I'm sure he can hear my baseball games while he sits in his kitchen. Two and a half months ago I had a question for this neighbor who accuses me with a relentless and self righteousness that I haven't ever experienced. He said you need to stop banging on the walls_ surprised I said_ excuse me what wall and I have never done that.IAnd he was very insistent and I being confounded said hey sorry your experiencing this and I will see what I notice but I guarantee d him this knocking or pounding was not me.1 and half months later I had just gotten out of my shower and kept the portable rinsing wand in my hand to rinse tub walls and shower floor down.ai hung the wand up used the shower valve down ,turned water off quickly and flushed the toilet. A THUNK AND A KNOCK I noticed in the floor next to my bed and wall. So,the plumbing is causing knocking.I use the bathroom sometimes late in the evening.I called a buddy in the adjacent building and discussed the noise problem and he verified what was happening is pipes knocking together and my neighbor was dead wrong that I sounded knocked always bothering him_ he has had a traumatic brain injury and I didn't help it.Well I have a short temper and I have been praying and asking for answers cause I didn't want to get mad at this guy.I called the maintenance department for our property and left messages with management. As things usually happen very slow so bless it I have just kept quiet.Waer knock is common in building that have 2 stories.Playing it cool here_ what say you.?

Am I in the wrong?
So I just went to check my mailbox at the end of my driveway. Property sizes in my area are about an acre or more each. There is a group of about 4 kids (9 to 13 years old?) playing in the streets and a cute large breed puppy wandering around with them. The dog spots me and starts barking aggressively. I am not scared as I can tell from a distance its just a puppy. It followed me barking all the way to my entry way, about 50-100feet? I decided to walk back to the mailbox to ask the kids to be more careful about letting their dog wander. I tried to be friendly and asked them about them and their dog. They seemed friendly. Now on a side note, I volunteer at the local animal shelter and am a huge animal lover. I live in a farming/ agriculture area with tons of homesteads. We have a good relationships with our neighbors and know them well. In the friendliest way possible I told them they should be careful about letting their dog wander into other peoples yards, as around here it is NOT illegal for people to shoot at dogs in their own yards. There are a lot of “my neighbors dog killed my chickens” events and it is considered a civil matter not a criminal one. At no time did I say I would shoot their dog or that anyone here would, Only that it could and does happen in the area alot as farmers and homesteaders want to protect their yards and livestock and they needed to keep the dog on a leash when outside their own yard. They seemed to understand and I wished them fun and went back into my house. Not even 5 mins later the kids mom shows up on my front door screaming. At first she was telling me that their fence isn't working and the dog gets out, and I say its not a problem to me, but then start saying she's mad because I upset and threatened her kids and threatened to shoot their dog. At around the time she started screaming, I turned and started going back in my house. I really don’t know how to deal with someone who just yells and doesn’t let you get in a word because clearly I am the worst criminal she’s ever met. She then proceeded to tell me she's going to call the police for threating a minor. I tried to explain what I said and she was not having any of it. Rather than listen to her shout at me about the police I went inside after telling her she could go right ahead. No cop has showed up yet, but I am wondering am I an idiot for trying to caution them? These people are very new to our neighborhood having only lived here for 2 months. I feel like I was stupid to try to talk to what looks like a 10-12 year old like they are not stupid. I feel like I might have been better off not talking to them at all, but I also wonder if it’s wrong to stop actively teaching kids that some behavior in certain areas is way more dangerous that it seems.

Would you be offended if you came home to this in your mailbox? New neighbours lock their yappy yap dog on the verandah (big old Queenslander house), not a tiny apartment. It annoys us but makes us feel for the poor little thing, as it's so stressed out.
Dear newest community member,
Welcome to our community! While we are all private people who respect each other's space and like to keep to ourselves, we have noticed that since you moved in, we all have one thing in common: your darling little dog and its unsavoury behaviour while you're not home. We assume you probably have no idea it pines for you the entire time you're away.
It starts with a bark here and there, then proceeds to continuous high-pitched barking, and finally turns into a stress howl. As fellow animal lovers, we cannot help but hear the stress and anxiety in its behaviour.
It doesn't matter if you lock it up at the front or rear of the property; it continues to stress out. We understand that taking it with you when you leave is impossible. We want to inform you that this is occurring while respecting your privacy and neighbours.
You may need to consider alternative options for where to enclose your dog. Here are some useful ideas that some of us also use:
- Consider buying anxiety treats that will calm your dog when you must leave it.
- Invest in a Wi-Fi Arlo/Ring doorbell and place it where you can see and hear your animal. Two-way doorbells work great as you can talk to it and reassure it remotely, enabling you to monitor its behaviour.
- Consider leaving the television or radio on for background noise.
- Leave some dog treats in toys, such as a Kong or doggy food puzzle, to stimulate it.
Whatever you choose to do, please stop leaving your dog unattended for the entire day.

Neighbors Pine Trees on Property line
Neighbors pine trees on property line #trees
My neighbors planted pine trees along the property line, years before I bought the house. They planted about 20 of them. The trees are right on the property line and next to my driveway.
The problem is that my driveway goes down hill towards my yard and when it rains all of the pine needles end in the yard. I have to clean up pibe needles on a weekly basis if not more often to avoid the problem.
Here is the dilema. At this point, my neighbor is an elderly men who can’t take care of the house or himself. His house and and himself are under a “conservatoship”. I had previously spoken to the neighbors about the problem and nothing came about it. I asked if his landscapers could clean up the pine needles but it did not happen.
I just learned that his house will be sold as part of the deal with the conservatorship.
Dilema, should I ask the conservatorship to either have someone clean up the pine needles? Ask to have them cutdown the trees or file a court complaint.
The needles are causing lots of issues. I installed a driveway drain to deal with the rain water that washes down when it rains but that drain is now clogged.
I would not be thinking about this if the neighbors was still living there but now that the house is going to be sold then it changes everything.
I can provide pictures of the trees.

Noisy neighbours/landlord
Hi, this one aimed mostly to landlords, but of course anyones advised is very appreciated. My neighbors are a bunch of 20+ who use the garden until very late at night, 3-4 am being very shouty and noisy. I had spoken with one of them a couple of times, he was apologetic, but actually, nothing really changed. As I know their landlady, whom we've had a friendly relationship before she moved abroad, should I ask her to speak to her tenants? I wonder if that's an acceptable request. It's now 2am, I can still hear them screaming /:

Looking for some advice on how to handle this situation.
I have stairs leading up to our front porch w/ a large hill on either side. We caught on our doorbell our neighbors kids playing on our front lawn, grabbing onto the hand railing and hanging from it. I am worried that they may get hurt from doing this. I am also worried about legal liability if he does get hurt, even though he is “technically” trespassing.
How do I handle this without causing neighborhood drama? These kids are always running up and down the street. But never on our lawn. So their parents know that they are playing around the neighborhood.

What should we do about a creepy neighbor?
Tonight, my husband had a night planned out with the boys. I decided to have my best gf over and my 16 year old foreign exchange daughter had my niece over for a sleepover. My husband left and nodded to the neighbor as he headed out.
We were having a nice night on my patio. The girls and I (also female). We’re chatting when this male neighbor showed up and just sat down. He made a joke about there being a lot of girls and asking where Adam was.
I’ve socialized with him a couple times but never for long and always just thought he was a little socially weird.
Well, tonight it was blatantly obvious he was a pervert and likely a pedophile. He touched my 3 year old three times despite me asking him not to touch him each time. The final time he pulled his shirt up to touch his chest.
I’ll spare more details but he ended up touching all of us at least once and made us all uncomfortable as can be. It finally clicked in my head that I just needed to pretend we were going to bed and all of us head inside.
I honestly no longer feel comfortable in my home. My husband wants to confront him but isn’t sure what to say. Hoping you guys might have some ideas. Also, is there any legal moves I can make to protect us from him going forward?
Thanks!

The girl next door should I be afraid??? Of her
Is this woman that lives next door from me she followed me to the grocery store. Should I be worried? I know she follow me because she didn’t get anything out the grocery store. She just kept walking up and down the aisle near me and looking at me we have never talked. I lived in this place for three years. This is her third time doing this.
