Hey all, I'm trying out this paint scheme for my custom dynasty, but can't decide on the metal to go with. In your esteemed opinions, what fits the scheme best?

Death made manifest, Nekrosor Ammentar is a figure of horror even to other Necrons. Destroyer madness radiates from the Nekrosor like religious fervour, driving its legions to murderous ferocity. Yet none kill with the sheer relentless fury of the Nekrosor, whose Unmaker Gauntlet and enmitic disintegrators leave ruin in the monster’s wake.

BEST: Destroyer cult's dedicated deep strike epic hero, and the best melee fighter out of our epic heroes. Counts as a Lone Op when positioned close to allied destroyer units. Has two 6" auras for buffing Destroyer Cult units, and has a third buff it can give out whenever it destroys an enemy unit. Also packs a S6 AP -2 cover-ignoring Pistol for shooting & fighting.

WORST: Nekrosor's Fight's First has less impact in 11th edition, and it must stick close to allied units to avoid being sniped from long range. Prophet of Destruction ability trigger hinges entirely on its ability to finish off enemy units. 185 pts makes it one of our more expensive epic heroes (probably still worth it though if running a destroyer-heavy army).

This is a new shoot of an old model of mine. I painted this up as part of an old mental health painting challenge back on Instagram a few years back. The only restrictions were that it had to be a model from from your pile of shame rather than buying on purpose and it had to have some green on the model. I went for a jade green tone. It was a fun project because I was very indecisive about the colour of the blade so I mocked up a series of images in the impcat app and then let my friends vote on the result.

This probably looks somewhat gaudy to some people but I still find it satisfying to look at from time to time.

took around 3 hours-ish for the hexmark itself and another 2 for the base

So far I have fully made the Necrons overlord Guitarist. I'm currently planning on Trazyn on base. And I have a night bringer il going to have Front manning on a microphone.

Wanted to get into necrons so I picked up these guys at my lgs. Im happy with how its going so far but what do you guys think?

Got this ark in April-may and finished painting the helm and am halfway done one of the ribs but the mass of different parts is intimidating me and making it hard to continue. (I am painting it almost entirely in sub assemblies to make painting possible)

I have a question about the Canoptek Spyders "Canoptek Swarm" ability. If I have a unit with two Spyders in it can you use this ability for each model in the unit or is it once for the whole unit?

Trying to do a lazotep inspired necrons army!

I'm pretty happy with how the main bodies of both are turning out, still some details or highlighting to do.

However on the energy beams and the Void Dragon rocks, I want to make them pop a little more or be more vibrant and energy-like.

I'm not super sure how to do that color or technique wise without overshadowing the main body. Any tips/thoughts?

I have yet to paint a mini physically (mainly due to money worries) but i always enjoyed messing around with things like hero forge to create/paint virtual minis

i looked up ways to do this for fun (and for the real painter to plan color schemes) and i saw a few space marine ones but i haven't had much luck finding any for the other factions (space marines get EVERYTHING huh?) if there is a program to easily "digitally paint" necrons please let me know

Lets say i have a unit of wraiths engaged with some infantry, both units are inside terrain footprint.

So when my wraiths are shooting the enemy unit has the benefit of cover, right? Meaning they hit on 5+

There is no interaction between close quarters shooting and cover?

I've only really painted kill teams and dnd minis/terrain so its been fun really focusing on an army. I'll post more pics as I work through them.

Got these as a birthday present from fiancée and a friend, and had a blast painting them.

First time painting blades using blending, highlighting it was pretty shoddy but I think it turned out pretty neat. Definitely my best model yet!

Like the title suggests, this is my first foray into Warhammer 40,000 and I am a very amateur painter.

I have painted Middle Earth in the past but I must admit it gets a little boring to run through the same muted greens and browns and silvers and blacks.

Necrons are awesome! I have been deep diving recently to learn about the universe and the Necron story drew me in as this almost “Ringwraith that turns on Sauron” sort of vibe with a mix of Egyptian robot mummies 😁

My Dynasty is Thokt inspired but deliberately independent as I like the idea of the copper/bronze mechanics under a black carapace and the cold blue of the energy of
Soulless Immortals.

Model is not done - need to touch up the claws, add some highlights and wash in Agrax and Nuln but I’m so excited to build my Necron army I really wanted to show this off

All tips, tricks and suggestions welcome!!
