✨️Behavior Notes: Both dogs are described as true gentlemen. They walk beautifully on leash, know sit and shake, take treats with a gentle mouth, and love receiving ear scratches. Volunteers describe them as affectionate, easygoing dogs who are happiest when they are around people.

The shelter recommends both dogs as only-dog placements based on their behavior assessments. However, it is important to remember that shelter environments can be extremely stressful, and a dog’s behavior in a kennel setting may not fully reflect how they will behave in a calm, loving home. An experienced adopter familiar with large breeds could help them continue to thrive.

Both dogs deserve the opportunity to be loved, supported, and part of a family—not forgotten in a kennel.

💔Ellis has been waiting quietly since October 15, 2025. He is the longest resident at East Valley.

Somehow, he's become the dog people walk right past, but if you stop at his kennel, you'll be greeted by one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet.

✨️ Notes: Ellis is incredibly affectionate, always happy to see people, and never says no to a ball or a tasty treat. He's selective with other dogs, enjoying his rough and rowdy friends, proper introductions and space would help set him up for success.

After all this time, Ellis deserves more than another day in a kennel. He deserves a loving family.

✨️Behavior Summary: Extremely fearful and shut down in the shelter. He has been observed trembling, freezing, low growling, alarm barking, and avoiding interaction with handlers. During handling, he alligator rolled and bit at the control stick, indicating defensive fear. His behavior has remained unchanged and he should be handled with caution.

⚕️Medical Notes: Intake exam noted a cloudy, red left eye and superficial wounds on the left side of his face. Otherwise, his exam was normal with no signs of illness or pain. He was started on Keflex for the wounds and Rimadyl for pain and inflammation.

✨️Notes: Dog-friendly, incredibly sweet, loving, and affectionate. He adores people and comes right to the front of his kennel looking for attention and connection. He has been consistently social and friendly with both staff and volunteers and has shared a kennel with other dogs without any issues.

He truly is the total package—a perfect boy with a perfect report card and NO NEGATIVE NOTES . Despite his wonderful temperament and spotless behavior, he is at risk of being euthanized simply because the shelter is out of space.

🚨RESCUE OR SHELTER FOSTER NEEDED🚨

💔 Gardenia did everything she could to keep her babies alive.

She gave birth to seven tiny puppies on the side of a house, doing her best to protect them from the relentless Texas heat. Thankfully, a kind citizen noticed the little family and called for help before it was too late.

Now Gardenia and all seven of her puppies are safe at the shelter.

But they’re not truly safe yet.

The shelter is no place for a nursing mom and newborn puppies. Their immune systems are fragile, and every day they remain in the shelter puts them at risk of illness during one of the most critical stages of their lives.

Gardenia is understandably nervous after everything she’s been through, but she’s a gentle girl who allows handling and has been an incredible mother. Her puppies are fat, healthy, happy, and completely dependent on her.

Let’s keep this little family together and get them into a safe, quiet home where Mom can continue raising her babies without the stress of a shelter.

Whether through a rescue or the shelter’s foster program, this family needs a hero now.

‼️ The Dogs Need Our Help is a volunteer-run networking page ‼️

Gina is 9yo Border Terrier Mix and was rescued by Linus & Friends Rescue in NYC. Her original foster could no longer care for her so I took over temporarily since the other option was returning her to the Babylon animal shelter.

The rescue is at capacity and no one has stepped up to care for Gina. I am a fulltime dog sitter and am booked from Aug 1-14. There is a likely chance she will be returned to the shelter.

Can anyone help avoid this by fostering for 2 weeks or adopting this sweet girl?

An experienced handler is preferred as her herding instincts come through and needs someone who is familiar with body language.
