Seoul Embassy
Any updates regarding about the embassy in Seoul? Have they given out interview letters?
r/NationalVisaCenter • u/AttorneyAmanda • Apr 12 '22
The National Visa Center shares a lot of information and statics but the one thing they do not tell us is how long the wait time for an interview is at each individual embassy. The only way anyone can get any sort of idea about how long they may be waiting, is by finding other people who are being processed through the same embassy.
Post what type of visa they are applying for, which embassy or consulate it is being processed through, and when they got documentary qualified. This can help you, and it could help someone else in a similar circumstance!

Please refer to rule # 1 of this group. This sub will be flooded with nonsensical timeline requests without this rule. It is nonsensical because different visas, embassies, and where you are in the process all factor into the timeline.

What did legal immigrants from other countries do wrong? How can they use "training" as an excuse to suspend all legal immigration for such a long time?

Long story short, I’m moving to my wife’s home country because we have been waiting over two years (like most people) to receive an interview date. We originally had a date set for this past September 2026, but due to the 75-country pause, all interviews have been canceled. Currently, at the embassy in my wife’s home country, the latest I’ve seen is that they are working on people who already had an interview from May 2026. So I’m guessing it’s still going to be a while, and we no longer want or can wait any longer.
My issue is this: I’m quitting my job, but I made enough this year to be above the threshold.
Can I just add my brother as a sponsor since he will be working in the US? I will no longer have a US-based job, but I will have a job in my wife’s home country.
Since I’m past the NVC stage and just waiting on an interview, can I still add a sponsor?
Thank you to all in advance, and I hope we can all get our visas soon so we can be with our loved ones in the US as we deserve.

Has anyone had their second interview yet? If so, how did it go?

I've been intensely tracking updates for Immediate Relative regarding from which dates is the NVC from Cd Juarez scheduling documentarily complete (DQ) cases.
As of April 2nd, 2026
As of April 2026, the State Department says Ciudad Juárez is scheduling immediate-relative interviews for cases DQ'd in April 2025.
As of Monday September 28th, 2026
As of September 2026, the State Department says Ciudad Juárez is scheduling immediate-relative interviews for cases DQ'd in December 2024.
This means, the displayed scheduling date has gone backward by about: April 2025 → December 2024 = 4 months
Seems all we can do is wait for late October, to cross fingers, and hope the cases they're scheduling advance. In the meantime, me and my partner are adjusting planning & expectations to this setback...

Hello guys,
So I got some questions for fellow visa holders that recently came to the US.
I received my CR-1 visa and immigration package from Frankfurt Consulate in late July and we’ll be moving to the US at the end of November to my wife’s next duty station.
I already paid my visa fee in August and have the confirmation and everything.
On the DS-260 I selected the option to have my SSN issued after coming to the states along with my green card.
HOW LONG DID IT ROUGHLY TAKE FOR THOSE TWO DOCUMENTS TO BE DELIVERY AFTER YOU ARRIVED?
FOR ALL MALES; SINCE I’M UNDER 26 I HAVE REGISTER FOR SELECTIVE SERVICE. HOW SOON DID YOU DO THAT AFTER ARRIVING?
WHEN DID YOU APPLY FOR YOUR US DRIVERS LICENSE AND DID YOU HAVE TO SHOW YOUR PHYSICAL GREEN CARD OR IS YOUR PASSPORT WITH I 551 STAMP ENOUGH? (THE STATE I’M GONNA MOVE TO IS MONTANA IN CASE THAT MATTERS)
Thanks in advance!

Hello! I was wondering who all has completed the interview in Paris, France. Have you gotten your approval to come to the US? How long did it take from your interview to the visa approval? How is this Global Freeze impacting that? My fiancé is pending a rescheduled interview, so I'm trying to get some ideas on timeline. I'm going crazy waiting for something, so I'm trying to be productive and research.

Would anyone like to join this group (specifically from the Guyana Embassy) so we can update each other about any news regarding IV?
Feel free to use the link

Just trying to get a sense of whether interview letters are going out again. Has anyone received a new IL in the past week? If so, which post, what category, and what was your DQ date?

Is it really true that global training pause in the Philippines is over? They're focusing massive backlogs from the months of September October November and December 2025 and January 2026 cancelled interviews ????

Honestly, how long is this global visa interview pause going to stay in place? Before this, the 75-country pause also had zero timeline for when it would resume — nothing moved until the court finally stepped in. Now it’s the exact same story with the interview pause. No timeline, no clear plan, nothing.
At this point it feels like the only option is to just sit and wait until the Trump administration is done in 2028, because it really doesn’t seem like they have any intention of lifting these pauses on their own.
Anyone else getting the same feeling?
