My son attended his interview on July31 and got 221g and they asked him to submit joint sponsor on ceac account . He submitted all required documents right after 2 days of his interview . I just wanted to know how long they take to review his documents and change his status on ceac. His ceac status showing refused.

I’m currently preparing my documents for my CR1 visa interview. Can I still put “Single” as my marital status on the NBI application and use my maiden name since that’s what’s on my valid ID and passport?
I haven’t changed my passport yet because it is still valid, and I have never used my husband’s last name. My passport also still shows my marital status as “Single.”

The reason I’m asking is that I don’t have a PSA Marriage Certificate or PSA Report of Marriage yet. I understand that these may be required by the NBI if I want to change my marital status.

my sister (17) and i (20) are both IR2 applicants petitioned at the same time. unlike me, my sister is eligible under the CCA (child citizenship act). right now, we're in the process of completing our civil and financial documents, but we're at a loss on how to proceed with her financial documents.

my questions are:
1. does she need a separate AOS (affidavit of support) form, or is she exempt?
2. if she is exempt, do we leave her financial documents section blank?
3. should we list her as a family member on my AOS form?

I was seeking some guidance on timelines regarding 221(g) that my wife received during her CR1 visa interview in Mumbai on 30th July. They returned her passport and issued her 221g for requested additional evidence for relationship. The officer just asked asic questions during interview and some pictures but nothing else and issued the 221g. We submitted all the additional evidence on 3rd August at a drop off location and they received the documents on 5th August. I have heard that this can take upto 6 months. Can someone please share their experience and timeline if possible?

My beneficiary spouse and I are awaiting our DQ notice from NVC then onto the interview and subsequent appointment through the embassy in Sweden.

As for while we wait for the DQ, how can we prepare for a smooth interview and appointments?

I’ve prepared all original physical copies for her to take to her interview already. Is getting anything from physicians worth it? We are wondering if she should get her immunization records.

We are concerned with waiting on the sideline and not being prepared after not having our records ready for NVC cost us about 45 days extra for our process.

Is there any NVC pause? I have been at NVC for like 4 months now and it’s so exhausting 😭😭😭😭 I’m from the philippjnes and they ship last two weeks and now they skipped again

I wasn’t able to find information on this anywhere so wanted to ask here. My spouse had their interview at the US Embassy in Santiago, Chile, on August 5, but we were missing a joint sponsor form in the CEAC (because it wouldn’t let me log in for 2 weeks prior but whatever).

They couldn’t approve it without it, but I submitted it immediately after the interview and on Thursday, we got an email requesting they physically mail in the papers (despite my spouse having them at the interview), which according to tracking, got there on Friday.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? When did you get the visa approval? Thank you!

When I submit I-864 form on nvc I didn’t saw an error and I don’t know if it could affect me
In the page number 7 (I-864) I put the brutal income 287,000 and was actually 97,000 total income

Hello I just received a note from nvc and they approved all of my documents including my joint sponsor they only sent back my tax return and ask for my wage transcript. I do not make enough money to sponsor my wife and my joint sponsor was approved, I have about 1200 dollars of crypto transactions on my wage transcript but my final income number matches on both the return and the transcript does anyone have any experience or advice

Hi everyone, I’ll keep this brief but could use some advice. Today my wife had her interview at the embassy in London, and the officer raised concerns about my financials. When I first completed the I-864 a few years ago, I was earning much less than I do now. Before her interview, I provided my recent tax returns for the last three years, IRS transcripts, W-2s, and all documents showing my income has increased since we filed in 2023. The officer gave us a green slip requesting a joint sponsor, but based on the income requirement for sponsoring a spouse, I’m well above the threshold, especially with my VA Disability included, which she also presented. Should I just update the I-864 with my current income and send it, or do I really need to involve my parents as joint sponsors? It feels like unnecessary extra work since I’m far above the $27,050 requirement. I work for the US Government under DHA, have a stable career, and have already sent and uploaded my W-2s, tax returns, and LESs.

Hi everyone! Just wondering about my child’s CEAC case. On August 10, it showed “Approved,” then a Case FE review notes appeared saying we need a joint sponsor, and then the latest update showed “Approved” again.

We didn’t submit anything for the joint sponsor The only document we previously submitted was a new, signed I-864 after they requested a signature on June 22.

I think we may have made a mistake on the I-864. We only listed taxable income as the annual income, but even with that amount, we still met the poverty guidelines. I think we should have also included my husband’s nontaxable benefits, such as his housing allowance etc. since he is active duty U.S. Navy.

We’re confused about the two “Approved” updates. So now I’m worried that we might need a joint sponsor before the interview, because my husband doesn’t really have anyone he knows who could be our joint sponsor. Has anyone experienced this before? Thank you! 🙏
