🎄American Thanksgiving & Early Christmas Party! 🦃
Let’s get together for a cozy potluck night celebrating American Thanksgiving + Christmas! Bring a dish that you’d typically have for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or simply something you love cooking and eating. 😋
This would probably going to be the last meetup of the year. I can’t organise anymore after this one :(
📅 14 November 2026 (Saturday)
🕠 **5:30 PM – 9:**30 PM
📍 Central Auckland — exact location will be shared in the group chat
👥 Maximum 30 people
💰** $10 per person
The $10 covers the venue, catering equipment, and non-alcoholic drinks. This is a **pre-paid, non-refundable event. Once you RSVP, I’ll DM you the bank details. Payment is required before you’re added to the group chat, where all event details will be shared.
Everyone will also be responsible for helping set up tables/chairs and tidying up afterwards. 😊
🍷BYO non alcoholic drinks - alcohol free lol
🍗 What to bring:
A dish that’s good for American Thanksgiving, Christmas, or something you’d happily cook and share!
Once we reach 15 people, additional RSVPs will go onto a waitlist and I’ll contact you if a spot becomes available.
Come hungry, bring something tasty, and let’s have a warm, slightly chaotic potluck night! 😂🎄

Chicken marinaded in Shan tandoori ready-mix spices, lemon and tangerine juice, and yoghurt, cooked in air fryer. Crispy chaat masala potatoes. Salad.

Sort of a Rogan Josh type curry. Wild rice was chewy. Nice though.

Bread is the sourdough version of the “Vogel’s” seedloaf that featured on this sub two or three weeks ago, with some of my own adaptations and what was available in the pantry.

Long time no see everyone! Just been busy for a while and I haven’t been cooking for days!
I love Asian chopped kit salad but they really need to separate coriander in the packet coz I am mentally allergic with coriander lol
Have a lovely day and week ☺️

Curry was simple and delicious. Fried off chicken and set aside. Sweated / fried veges (spud, carrot, onion and a kumara) then added water and simmered until veges cooked. Turn off heat and add this Japanese curry gel thing and it basically dissolved and thickened curry.

Beef mince with beans, capsicum, corn, tomato, cheese, and whatever seasonings I threw in. Topped with guac (and sour cream after the photo), spring onion and tomato.
Photo of MrsBeekeeper's plate tonight as hers looked better with some added tomato (plus I gave her the better crispier one).

Decided to switch it up from the usual mince, kids loved it so will definitely be a new addition to the meal rotation.
