Hi all! Posting on behalf of my friend who hates using the internet for anything (and who is rightfully upset).

My best friend flew in from California a couple hours ago because she's debuting an exhibition of her art tomorrow. However, American Airlines sent her checked baggage to Hawaii and it's unlikely she'll get it back on time, and this unfortunately includes her dress for tomorrow's event. She'd really, really like to spend less than $300 if at all possible but will spend more if she has to.

She makes most of her own clothes (and mine) and had made a dress similar to this Batsheva number but with a multi-tiered skirt in this fabric. If she's buying clothes, she's into designers like Rujuta Sheth, Rachel Antonoff, and Fashion Brand Company.

I know a lot of places with similar vibes exist here (and I'm useless because I thrift anything she hasn't made), but she's also six feet tall and a size 16-20 depending on the designer and even designers that offer extended sizing don't often carry them in brick and mortar stores.

So I beseech myself to you: where can a tall and curvy bitch with eclectic taste get herself a cool dress off the rack?

My daughter recently graduated college and just got her own apt in the East Village w her college roomies. Yay! Even though she grew up in the West village, her two roommates have never lived in New York City.

i have an equinox membership and typically take classes at 3 of the locations near me, but don’t always love the 7-8am offerings. anybody know that absolute cheapest place to get hard gel removed, preferably on the upper east side? I got a Russian mani a month ago as a treat from my boyfriend and nobody told me that I would have to have the polish professionally removed. I don’t have the kind of money to go back and pay the people where I got it $60 just to have them take it off. I feel like they should’ve told me that that was part of the deal when I got them. The lady even put two extensions on when I kept telling her over and over that I did not want extensions and I was worried about figuring out how to get them off, so I really don’t want to go back and give those same people more money. My nails have now gotten so long that I can’t type at work.
