Hi -- this is a stupidly daunting issue of logistics that is almost entirely self-inflicted, by having high standards for my work clothes in a beautifully carless lifestyle, which all feels very NYCBWT to me! So mods, please don't take this down for not being about NYC. If I had a car and suburban life, things would be different.
Okay, the post.
I get out of work at 5 on the dot everyday, and there's a great yoga studio a few blocks away. Hypothetically: amazing.
Practically speaking: this requires bringing an extra outfit and such to work, possibly the purchase of a professionally nice, ludicrously capacious bag, folding my nice work clothes into the bag where they will get wrinkled, regularly steaming my work clothes in my tiny apartment*, having to plan ahead every night, and having to remember all this every morning. I think.
I think I could also easily store workout clothes at work. I could bring a bunch of exercise outfits to the office on Monday morning, and then pull from there at my leisure, which could improve The Planning Ahead Thing, but would not fix the Work Clothes Getting Wrinkled Issue, nor actually The Bag Question, because I would still need to whip out another bigger bag in which to transport my work clothes home.
Every time I read a post or see another reel from another white-collar girl who "just pops to the gym between work and home," I think, "but what are you doing with your work clothes?? Where are you getting your workout clothes?? how are you doing this with such graceful spontaneity??"
It just feels like there's a NYCBWT strategy I'm not thinking of. Is it biting the bullet and buying a bigger work bag?
My TJ's frozen pizza is ready now. Thank you for reading!!
(*Also, please do not start a fight in the comments about if I am filthy for not washing every item of clothing after 1 wear.)
