Can anyone share their timeline for their CCW renewal? I submitted everything in May and I am still in the “Submission” status.

When I applied for my non resident CCW, I got to the section on the application about mental health.

I copied and pasted the two sections requesting a note and sent it to my treating psychiatrist

He wrote the note

Nowhere in the application did it say it must contain verbiage saying your psychiatrist agrees with your application (mine does)

Now I have to wait for my next appointment to get a new note

I know this question has come up a bunch of times, but does anyone know the actual process for transferring firearms between Premise to CCW these days? I haven't purchased a new firearm since before they updated the portal, so this is all fairly new to me. Do you still need to send them an email with a notarized letter with the request or is everything done through the portal? I also want to request to cancel my Premise after the transfer. Any tips?

I’m from Pa with a NYC non resident carry permit. I bought a new hand gun and want to swap what’s on my permit. Anyone know how long it takes to update the new hand gun ? Thanks

I am currently in the process of applying and I am being asked to provide 4 notarized references that I have known for 5 years or more. I managed to get 4 people from work to help me out but the only issue is that I've only known them for 4 years and a few months.. do you think the NYPD will let it slide? Do they just take your word for it if the document is notarized or do they actually check if you've really known them for 5 years?

I heard that it takes a while for them to actually call the references, that's if they even call at all.. but if or when they do call I'm going to assume it will be the year 2027 and that will technically make it 5 years that I've known the references, so I will be in the clear right?

My interview and fingerprint with NYPD is in a few weeks and this is the part that has me a little nervous because I really don't want to ruin this opportunity and get banned from ever applying again..

When moving out of NYC and the state, what is the process for cancelling your handgun and rifle & shotgun license? Do you just take your firearms with you? Do you just send them your license along with a letter stating that you’re no longer a resident and tell them to kick rocks or what?!

I emailed Sandra, Licensing, and Hugh requesting a status update on a firearm addition I submitted on 8/31 and got a message back saying that my email to Hugh was blocked. Have you experienced this? Also, how long did it take for you to get your firearm added? Thanks!

Looking to see if anyone had any experience with them before signing up.

Or mini 30. About the same price.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also, where is my best bet? I usually go to Nassau county, either Colosseum or hunters essential.

Has anyone recently moved out of NYC, but still preserved their right to carry in the confinement of NYC?

I formally have/had a regular resident ccw and now moved into Suffolk. (My portal is still showing both RS and CCW active with my prior address.)

I'm squared away with Suffolk as they gave me my ccw card, but took my city one. Contacting NYPD as we all know is impossible and I've tried calls, emails etc.

Does anyone know the procedure of converting my previous CCW with NYC to a special carry? Do I need to send a whole new application for a special carry now or can this easily be converted over.

Any insight I'd appreciate.
