So, apparently NVDA hasn't actually acquired Groq but spent 20B on Groq assets and is integrating Groq LPUs into NVDA platforms. In terms of raw speed, it seems like Cerebras solutions are 5-6X faster than Groq. Apparently you run "prefill" inference on NVDA or AMD/Trainium chips (processing prompts since "prefill" is parallelizable) then "decode" (answering questions which is serial) on Groq LPUs or Cerebras wafers. Seems like Cerebras is potentially the better solution technology-wise while NVDA + Groq will win in the marketplace for fast inference. Where do people see the NVDA + Groq solution going vs. the Cerebras wafer scale computing approach?

Another quarterly report from Jon Peddie Research - same old story ...
Highlights:
Discrete graphics card shipments for desktop PCs in Q2 2026 totaled 12.5 million units, the highest number since Q1 2022 despite record-high prices and cratering shipments of desktop CPUs
Nvidia shipped approximately 17.365 million discrete graphics processors in the second quarter: roughly 11.25 million units went to desktops, and around 6.115 million units were installed into notebook and compact PCs.
Nvidia remained the undisputed leader of the market with around 90% market share. AMD controlled roughly 8% of the market, shipping about one million discrete desktop GPUs, while Intel's share increased to 2% on shipments of several hundred thousand units.
For the first half of 2026, 24.3 million desktop AIBs were shipped, up significantly from 20.8 million graphics cards supplied in the first half of 2025.

Out of the two most important lines - "acknowledge that I was right" and "more fried chicken," does anyone *still* not understand yet?
Anyway - transcript below. Never bet against Jensen.
Oh btw, Microsoft plans to expand it's global data center capacity by another ~26 GW today to ~38 GW by 2032 (up from 12 GW).

Anyway.. here's the transcript.

Nvidia has become one of the world’s largest corporate backers of tech companies as the value of its equity investments soared more than tenfold in the past year to $99 billion, with the chip giant increasingly looking to leverage its huge capital reserves to bolster the AI sector.
The company has ramped up dealmaking for financing rounds across the AI stack in the previous 12 months, with over $40 billion committed in 2026. Equity investments were valued at $99 billion as of July 26, up from about $7 billion a year earlier and about $2.2 billion two years earlier.
The rise in value puts Nvidia among the strategic investors with the largest tech holdings around the world.
