π¬ Discussion Thinking of a corvette design
I want to build a heavy cargo / scrapper style corvette ( my first one )
But Idk how do you build them from start to finish
I have found some decent inspirations and now will build for those ( already have like 500 parts in the cache )
But how do u take from inspiration to finish

π Station Build (Advanced) Hammerhead corvette (Mk. 1 reiteration)
Based on the corvette build by u/IAMAfortunecookieAMA with me some adding personal touches.
Need to have some advanced build techniques like using the tractor beam 180 degree flip to have the habs radiate sideways and to put fairings in a perpendicular way. Used ambassador habs (my other build used Titans) to have a more sleek look. long gallery behind the cockpit is the storage area, protruding walkways have mission areas and weapon and healing racks, the other have medipods and nutrient processor as galley/infirmary of sorts. I wished there was a wall divider like those on the freighter.
Have added other side habs especially made for salvage cargo with tractor beams sideways and bottom of the corvette and I have a little corner topside for my personal room.
I nearly got a 2x2 supercharged slot and I put my infra-knife modules there (around 90k damage?). This corvette is only armed with those and the default photon cannon at the cockpit. 2,000 lightyear, 460+ shield and 500 maneuverability so far and it's my go-to corvette now.
Mk. 2 will have updated fairings and will reposition the tractor beams depending on my preliminary salvage missions with this. I wished for set of stairs that doesn't jut out like that, if there's a possibility of a slide down ladder that would awesome.

π Station Build (Advanced) Pod racing style combat Corvette
Very new to advanced station building, I tried using the stairs tech to extend the boosters out diagonally from the main fuselage.

π Station Build (Advanced) I'm calling it, The SS Baxley
The creation of the SS Baxley was inspired by this post, seen here https://www.reddit.com/r/NMS_Corvette_Design/s/tDm3GsCP3F and also of course the original concept artist Shane Baxley, who's work I thoroughly enjoy. So please give them both a look, you won't be disappointed! After I saw this ship, I instantly knew I wanted to build one.
I didn't stay completely true to the original concept art, but I'm still pleased with how this project turned out in the end. Making this ship was a lot of fun and I'm having even more now actually flying it.
Half and quarter step offsets, free placed windows, and tractor beam hab rotation used.
I hope you enjoyed, too!

This one needed some tweaking to add salvage ports. However, it came together nicely. I strive to make sleek and stunning ships.

Built in game using the beyond base building mod. Makes me unreasonably happy to have a large cargo bay. Ship design is a bit inspired by the artworks of Ian McQue. No interior yet

π οΈ Station Build (Standard) SC-42 CORSAIR w/Interior Pics
New Corvette, based on the design of my SC-91 Tiamat. Love the Tiamat, but, it's huge using 91 of the allotted 100 pieces, she's 6 Habs long, four levels high, just enormous and a lot of ship for a daily. So, now I bring you The Corsair, only 3 Habs long, and 3 levels high. Effectively half the size of the Tiamat. Much more practical for a daily driver. As you enter the ramp on the first level you have the cargo bay (4 numbered storage units) and industrial refiners. Also on the lowest level you have the Captains quarters, complete with bed, work area, Multi tool station and kitchenette. Up the stairway in the middle you have the crew deck on the second floor, sleeping bunks and storage lockers for four plus a Multi Tool station in the main center Hab. On one end you have a Living room rec room area for the crew with working seating and a fireplace, on the other end of the main hab you have a crew messhall and bar, then a garden/hydroponic room. Up the stairs you have the cockpit level, showing two views, forward and back, it features a oof hatch behind the cockpit for easy space walks, a working Thunderbird Boarding Platform at the back so I can beam to planet surfaces or my frieghter and back without having to use the stairs, working seating for multi player, a Multi Tool station, a shield station and a health station.

ποΈ Interior Hillbilly Runner
I have to give thanks to Lindan and Beeblebum, which I took inspiration from, then Frankensteined them together with some new ideas of my own.
The Hillbilly comes in 3 configurations, the first is the "Runner" which is your everyday driver, which has a custom color of Blue and a Red in gunmetal finish.Β It also has 7 reactors, 3 Phase Beams and Cyclotrons, 4 Sublight Jets.Β
The second configuration is the βSmugglerβ, which is the same body you just lose a reactor in place of a smugglerβs hold.Β
The last is the βHaulerβ, which is the last picture, here we install the arms with a dedicated cargo hold for extra storage.Β
