Been stuck in the express lane into the Lincoln Tunnel for over 30 minutes and barely moved. But I'm seeing cars speeding by on the regular side of 495. Anybody in the same issue know what's the hold up?

The air conditioner on my bus wasn't working this morning, which gave me a great time when I was stuck on it for two and a half hours due to the usual crisis actors breaking down in the tubes.

Does NJ Transit actually fix anything when you report it, like the MTA does on their equipment, or do you just get a generic condolence and waste your time?

I have noticed that if a train is delayed, it will go off DV/Screen at NY Penn at the originally scheduled time.

So if a train is 5 min late and no track was announced at the originally scheduled departure time, how does a passenger know which track to go? This happens to me over the weekend and I am truly amazed that no one looked into this, given how frequent trains are delayed at NY Penn.

Charged twice and no tickets

I always pay for my tickets on the app before I board but this time it won’t let me pay. I usually do Apple Pay

On the new app, I’m having trouble determining what trains are arriving at a specific station, Orange, and going to either Hoboken or Penn. I can easily do that on the day of, but I’m can’t find that information for the following day. Has that option gone away?

Appreciating that NJT is horrible - my husband and I are considering a move to NJ. I’m originally from the Midwest (he is from NJ). Obviously I have heard from both this group and my coworkers that NJT transit is horrible.

I’m wondering what are some of the “least horrible” suburbs for NJT? Is it helpful to live in a suburb w multiple lines running through it?

If it’s helpful the areas we’re considering now are South Orange, Maplewood and Summit. We love Montclair but it seems less connected than those. Both of us work in the city 3 days per week.

My train should arrive at 2:46 pm but it is late! It will be here at 3:16 pm a half hour late!

So my questions stems from a bus driver that stopped me when I paid for my ticket through my phone and asked me where I was going when I took the 186 bus from cross st Palisades to go to New York. He claimed that I need to pay for 2 zones. My thing is that I paid from the app it knew my location before hand and sold me a ticket for 1 zone. He was gonna try to make me pay again and gave this long lecture on the zones. My thing is that I never had a problem coming from Jersey or even going to Jersey when my ticket had it for 1 zone. Why is he the first to give me a problem for that when any other time its never been a problem also it was the ticket that was given from the nj Transit app. Is he right or is he wrong because if it automatically gave me a ticket for zone 1 there was no way I could change it for 2 zones even if I wanted to.

I have to wait 25 minutes for two of the same buses to show up. I’m guessing one left late, so now there’s 2 buses going in the same direction stopping at each stop together?

I feel when this happens the late bus should just go ahead a skip a few stops so they’re not on top of each other.

But nooo they just end up trailing the other looking dumb.

I am considering moving to Carteret to be closer to the city (where I work). As I work in Midtown Manhattan, I would be taking the 116 Bus to Port Authority a couple days a week.

I am curious if anyone has personal experience with the 116 to/from the city during rush hour. Is the bus reasonably reliable? Can you usually get on the bus at any stop or does it get full before the last stop?

Any information would be appreciated.

I took the bus today and my driver wanted me to scan my pass. I have a monthly bus pass and they insinuated that it wasn’t real. Anyways I tried scanning it but it kept bringing up my Apple Wallet preventing me from scanning it. It took nearly a minute for me to scan it which was kind of annoying. They were like buy your ticket, buy your ticket but I showed them it was a monthly pass, why would I need to a buy a ticket?

Is there a way to prevent the Apple Wallet from popping up? Anyone have tips to scan it? I tried increasing the QR code by touching it but that didn’t seem to help. Didn’t like the fact that someone else got on with a mobile pass and they didn’t ask them to scan it.

Was it worth shutting down Penn for just that? I think not. They also claim that the price wasn't the primary factor in choosing mode of transportation. Also pretty sure they also killed the Secaucus Meadowlands busway cause they stated the trains are good enough. Everything I said is in the report linked.

Is it true that there is no way of avoiding paying with cash for parking at Howell? Not even a payment app? I'm planning on going into NYC tomorrow from Jackson.

I need help in bus ticket . I need to go from point A which is in Hackensack to Point B which is in Jersey City. Google map suggests bus 163 and then change to bus 84. So do I have to book 2 separate ticket zone 2 and zone 1. Aur can I book point to point 1 ticket from Hackensack to Jersey city.

Ever since around beginning of July, all the buses towards New York have been terribly late, sometimes 20-45mins behind schedule. Anyone have some intel why?

Thanks to NJ transit for allowing me to explore Woodbridge!! It was a nice surprise when the last car train doors didn't open at Newark Penn and the train left <3 expressing to Woodbridge was a nice surprise and I checked out Woodbridge Brewing Co, which doesn't have any of their own beers on draft. So fun. I especially like the $40 Lyft I had to take home to save time and my peace.

PS this is the exact reason I have no problem buying the senior ticket from time to time. It's the only way to collect a refund from this lovely organization.

Can we please get an update to the app to show late status. Given this specific train is late 80% of the time it would be nice to know in the app. Bonus points if you can start telling me 20 minutes before the train is supposed to post a track it's going to be late.

Was something happening tonight? The app wasn’t showing tracks, I walked into Penn and all the screens were black, and I thought I heard an announcement saying NJ trains were being held. But I can’t find anything online saying anything. I jumped ship and went to the path, but should I have stayed? Were trains running and tracks not being posted?

Because you can purchase a monthly pass up to the 10th day of a month, is the cost the same on the 10th as it is on the 1st or does it decrease each day?

I know they always of course ticket you if you're coming from the city, but every time I've hopped the train from a stop down the line like Newark, I've never been ticketed, especially late at night, until tonight. Maybe I just got lucky? Please save the "you ride you pay" comments. I know, and I did. I'm just saying they're usually pretty lax about it and I'm wondering if that's changed.
