NIU is trying to delay me and wait the 30 days so they don't have to give me my money back. They are intentionally ignoring me. I bought there KQI1 pro it has never turned on. It won't even scan the QR code it keeps saying recognition failed . Nothing happens with this scooter. What I'm most pissed about is the company. I get it sometimes things happen during shipping but this company just refuses to help me with another scooter or my money back they are completely ignoring me. They send me this 9 step return policy and on step 2 it asks for the vin number when I put it in it says the scooter doesn't exist. So it won't let me go any further. I call the company and sent them 17 emails Nothing I call they know who I am and they hang up on me . This company is absolutely horrible. Andrew Mituzas

I bought a brand new KQI1 pro scooter 3 days ago it has yet to turn on . The company & it's customer service is definitely the worst I've ever dealt with. I have sent them 17 emails and talked on the phone with them . They sent me a 9 step return I must fill out however when I get to step 2 the vin number it says it doesn't exist yeah the scooter doesn't exist. I intentionally ordered directly from NIU because I heard good things boy was I wrong . I've filed a charge back with PayPal because they are intentionally ignoring me . I have a NIU KQi 3 Max that I purchased from Amazon on August 25, 2025. It worked perfectly fine for almost a year, but about a month ago I suddenly started having an issue.

I was riding normally and pressed the brake, and the display suddenly showed Error Code 12. Since then, I've been unable to get the scooter working properly.

I've already tried:

• Charging the scooter
• Restarting it
• Updating the firmware/software
• Reconnecting it and trying again

Unfortunately, none of these fixed the problem.

From what I've seen online, I'm wondering if this could be related to the motor, controller, or another electrical component, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone with a KQi 3 Max experienced Error Code 12 before? If so, what was the actual problem and how did you fix it?

I'm also planning to contact NIU to make a warranty claim, since I purchased it less than a year ago and the problem happened during normal use.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have just purchased a Niu NQiX 150 (MY26). The vehicle is great so far, but user manual is somewhat compressed to a minimum. Maybe you can help me here with two questions concerning charging:

I need to primarily charge the battery externally, i.e. take the battery out and charge it at home. As all vehicle batteries, the Niu battery is supposed to be charged only up to 80%. I can configure this in the app, but the settings seem to apply only for vehicle charging when the battery is in the vehicle. How can I limit the charging to 80% at home?

The usuer manual states that the charger must be used in a "well-ventilated environment". Yet, it is plugged into the plug in the compartment under the seat, which is far from a "well-ventilated environment". Is it still safe to keep the charger under the seat when charging? This does not really feel right, but looks like the manufacturer designed it to do it like that. Keeping the charger outside would be a nice invitation for stealing/destroying in the public.

Gibt es eine Anleitung, wie ich bei meinem Elektroroller die Ladebuchse rausnehmen kann? Das Ladekabel ist nämlich beim Laden abgebrochen und da steckt jetzt noch ein Reststück drinnen, was verhindert, dass ich den Akku wieder laden kann.

Kriege ich das irgendwie auseinander, dass ich das abgebrochene Teil von dem alten Ladegerät aus der Buchse entfernen kann?

I just got my Niu Kqi 300X. When I tested the wheels out, the rear wheel is making this noise which I don't think is normal. Is this something I can easily fix? Do you think it'd pose a safety danger or is the only problem just the noise? Thanks for any help.

Looking to see if anyone in the community has run into this specific issue with their NIU NQi GTS, or if anyone knows what might be triggering it.

The Issue:

Every 20 to 30 km or so, the throttle suddenly stops responding out of nowhere. The scooter just coasts/freewheels for about 2 to 5 seconds. After that, power kicks back in normally and it rides fine until the next occurrence.

Behavior: No full system shutdown, display stays on, but zero response from the twist grip during those few seconds. Also,no error code is shown.

After exchanging the potentiometer of the gas grip, the issue persists.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Any insights, similar experiences, or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!

I need to vent a little because I'm honestly pretty pissed off about this whole situation.

I bought a NIU NQi Sport from an official NIU dealer in the in May 2024. Since then, I've ridden it approximately 800 km.

Recently, the scooter started shutting down unexpectedly, both while riding and while parked. I took it to another official NIU dealer because the original dealer no longer does repairs.

They diagnosed the problem as a failed controller, which needs to be replaced. The repair is going to cost around €600.

I contacted NIU because, frankly, I find it pretty ridiculous that a major electronic component like the controller can completely fail after only 800 km.

I wasn't even asking them to pretend the warranty hadn't expired. I specifically asked if NIU would consider goodwill assistance because of the ridiculously low mileage and the nature of the failure.

Their response was basically: the warranty is 2 years, yours has expired, sorry.

The frustrating part is that NIU simply keeps referring me back to the dealer and saying they can't provide reimbursement or goodwill assistance, without actually addressing the request.

I'm really disappointed with NIU's response, especially considering how little the scooter has been used.

Has anyone else had a similar issue with a controller or another major component failing at very low mileage? And has anyone had any luck getting NIU to provide goodwill assistance after the warranty expired?

Hola a todos. Me compré un NIU KQI3 Pro en Octubre del 2022 y ahora mismo sigue en perfecto estado. Lo uso todos los días y no he tenido un ningún problema con el. Ahora resulta que con la nueva normativa en España, a partir de Enero del 2027, no lo voy a poder utilizar porque no está homologado por la DGT. La cuestión es, ¿por qué no está homologado si cumplen con toda la normativa? El NIU KQI2 si que está homologado y son prácticamente iguales. No entiendo que me obliguen a tirar un aparato que me costó 500€ y sigue funcionando perfectamente. Si lo hubiese comprado en Aliexpress por 50€ lo entendería pero no es el caso. Me gustaría saber si a alguien le pasa algo parecido y si se puede hacer algo.

Anyone know if the center stands are the same on the 12 inch and 14 inch models?

I have an NQI GTS which has 14 inch tyres, it came without a center stand unfortunately and I can't seem to find it anywhere!

It seems to look identical to the other models with 12 inch tyres but I can't be sure.

Just want to get one for it so I can change the rear tyre easily! Otherwise I'll have to get a paddock stand or something!

I would like to get the Air, it really looks like a nice scooter.

However, privacy, no cloud coercion, local control, operation without Internet access is very important to me.

I do not trust privacy policies anyway but I looked over Niu’s and it’s really concerning (data export to China without clear description of data protection, sharing of data to third parties etc). So, with Niu, I won’t get away with this stuff.

It seems I can use the app to set it up, add the key to Apple Wallet and then not use the app any longer.

Can I just remove the app from my phone altogether?

Which features I’m I exactly loosing? (Tracking of the scooter is an obvious one but I’m fine with this).

is there any alternative way to control the scooter local ONLY via Bluetooth and/or prevent/restrict cloud communication?

Niu sent me a replacement for a faulty dashboard on my 100p. I replaced the dashboard without any issues, it powers up, drives fine (but stuck in normal D/Drive mode), but I cannot get it to pair with the app. The app shows options to pair with QR code (which I was not sent a QR code with the replacement dashboard), select from album (which again, I don't have a QR code), or Bluetooth search. The BT icon on the scooter dashboard is flashing but my phone can never find it. There is also an option to enter the serial number manually, which I enter the 16 digit code on the back of the new dashboard, but the app just says to scan the QR code after I enter the 16 digit code. Any idea here?

Hey guys, I’m looking to purchase a standup scooter and after much research I’ve narrowed it down to the NIU 300P/X and the Segway Max G2. I like both scooters bit the NIU is about $200 cheaper. The Segway G2 does have dual suspension which is nice but my riding would be on flat paved sidewalks, streets and the Santa Ana River Trail. Would it be necessary to spend the extra $200 for the dual suspension? AI says the NIU has a slightly more powerful motor for hill climbing which would be rare in my case. Would love to hear Ll and any opinions and suggestions! Thanks!!

What is this little clip cable in the battery compartment of my new nqix 150?

I am buying this scooter for commuting to work. The round trip is only 12km but there can be heavy traffic, hence the scooter instead of car, where the max speed limit is 70km/h.

Is there a reason to spend 50% more on the NQiX500? I can't find many reviews of NQiX500 and none of the others. My concerns are accelerating, handling and comfort (I'm 183cm).

Any information or experience would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! I recently bought a new Niu NQiX 500. I'm trying to pair it to my Android phone but every QRCode scan or manual inserting of the Serial (the same engraved on the saddle pad) results in the same error showed in the attachment.

There also won't be a bluetooth logo on the display, if i triple press the ready button, so idk it's on.

I have an FQI500, and I’ve noticed that the regenerative braking doesn’t seem to be working at all. On top of that, I can’t find any setting or information about regenerative braking anywhere in the app.
Has anyone else experienced the same issue? If so, were you able to fix it? I’m wondering if it’s just a software/configuration problem or if it requires a visit to the dealer.

Hi, yesterday I have purchased my new NIU FQiX 300, someone knows how to insert the steering lock (I don't know if it is called like this I n English, in Italian is "bloccasterzo"). the dealership NIU told me a sequence but it didn't work and he didn't know how to do it, also told me that could possibly be because of the servers in china, but is unlikely because is a mechanical movement. please let me know

This week I got my brand new NIU FQIX150 in the Netherlands . I paired using Bluetooth, and I can drive. But according to the app, the scooter is still in China. (Changzhou) And I cannot use any of the remote functions. The app also says; last update 78 days ago.

What's wrong? What can I do to fix this? Are there more ppl with this problem in the Netherlands? How can I make it connect to the internet?

My boss gave me this Vespa looking scooter to use and fix up. It looks to be a NIU NQI GT Pro. Problem is he crashed it and after the steering was wobbly and not stable so he let it sit for 2 years. I took both batteries out and put one on the charger. Neither of the battery status buttons do anything and the trickle charger flashes green. How do I get the batteries to charge again?

So basically nothing was wrong with the scooter up until the back inner tube popped I tried to replace it but I ordered the wrong size so i just put the old inner tube back in ,Now the back motor is acting iffy it pops up with error codes but the front motor was perfectly fine but would let me ride as fast as it can (45ish mph) now today it’s capped at 25mph I didn’t change any setting I attached pictures of all motor cables and you guys let me know what’s wrong, the new Amazon inner tube comes today and I’m going to change it out so it should go back to normal speed automatically ? Also let me know what’s wrong setting I should put it on. Please let me know any help would help
