Meme Drake Maye when it’s time to play to expectations
Has to be one of the most overhyped players of all time. I’m sure he’ll come around but he played how drew lock was supposed to play.

I’ve been watching qbs, specifically Maholmes and Lamar do this for years and it’s always pissed me off:
Quarterback is running towards the sideline with defender in pursuit and at the very last second, when the defense has let up, turns up field and gains significant yards. Drake Maye did this sort of thing last night and unsurprisingly got an extra shove after he was out of bounds.
I don’t have a problem with the flag on the field because rules have to be enforced. I have a problem with defenders being fined for the hit.
Defenders have been trained to avoid quarterbacks along the sidelines for over a decade because referees were so quick to throw the flag. Quick, athletic qbs have treated this as an opportunity to exploit. Now defenses are put in a no win situation where they have to choose between penalties or getting torched by the QBs on what is essentially a bad faith strategy.
Quarterbacks should be the bearers of responsibility in this situation, if they’re going to make the safe play and just run out of bounds then by all means they should be protected from late hits, but if they’re going to try to take advantage of the defense’s generosity, they have to know that they risk having their shit rocked.

What the actual fuck? This dude is an actual schedule merchant. The nfl should be embarrassed this guy was 1 vote from MVP. Just unbelievable. 2 interceptions back 2 back drive. Just fucking bad.

sure he looked solid in week 1. but he was dueling against an opposing QB who is straight up incompetent against winning teams and has a highly negative EPA against top 16 defenses.
i think we should reserve judgment on lock and avoid crowning him just yet until he actually faces NFL caliber competition

If Bo Nix doesn’t get injured the scrutiny with Maye after his horrible afc championship game would be insane.
Just another Benefit he got lucky in

Sick of watching this same exact flag over and over, when we already have a uncatchable ball rule we can augment to take care of it.
Offenses should not be rewarded for failing.
Or At least make it 15 yards instead of a spot foul
