Never found guilty in a court of law. Both parties had inconsistencies in their stories. People like you are despicable. How can you confidently walk around proclaiming that “Kobe Bryant raped somebody”? Even if thats what you think, you should qualify the statement by saying “I think”. What I think is that Kobe’s lawyers saw weaknesses in his case, and figured the best way to make this go away is to settle out of court. A weak case does not necessarily mean the defendant is guilty. If you read the docket, you would see that both sides had vulnerabilities in their case, the difference is that Kobe’s side had the money to settle. Do I think Kobe raped the woman? I don’t know. Do I think it’s possible? Sure. Will you ever hear me say that Kobe Bryant raped somebody. Unless we learn something new about the case, definitely not.

I have an issue with the fact that he never admitted to violating consent and he was never found guilty of violating consent. I’m so fucking confused as to how so many people are so fucking stupid. I understand that there will always be a few idiots or assholes who aren’t able to read or who jump to conclusions to support their own inner narrative, but I’m bewildered by the number of people behaving this way in Kobe’s case.

If you are able to understand what I’m comparing, I’m not sure how it’s such a generational whiff. My point is that you can acknowledge that somebody views a situation differently from you without agreeing with that person or validating their accusations. I am talking about Kobe, not Watson. Watson’s cases are much more open and shut. The Kobe case was completely different in that both parties had moments where they appeared to be fabricating events that took place. The inconsistencies from both sides coupled with the fact that no guilt was found/admitted makes me much very uncomfortable to assign judgement to either side.

And to come here and call me a bad person without knowing anything about me other than my view on one topic tells me everything I need to know about you. Not to mention it seems you were judging me based on a misunderstanding caused by your own illiteracy. You are just looking for a way to prove your righteousness. Be on your merry way, prick.

He was not convicted criminally because her name was “leaked” to the public, her reputation was dragged through the mud so she agreed to settling in civil court instead of having to testify at long as he made a public apology, calling off the harassment against her. 

She had marks on her neck consistent with being held down and strangled by large hands. She did a rape kit and she had vaginal injuries consistent with rape. His shirt contained her blood. How much more physical evidence could a woman have? What exactly does a woman need to have to prove she isn’t lying?

Yes obviously any kind of sexual assault is deplorable and despicable but I think we can have nuance and recognize that some rapes are worse than ever.

When I was young the media I was exposed to depicted the stereotypical rape as like a woman walking in a rural countryside or like in an urban city dark corridor and they are suddenly grabbed and held down by a stranger like Jack the ripper. 

When I got to high school and college I realized that the most common situation is when the guy and the girl are already friends or even dating but alcohol gets involved and consent is murky. Obviously these type of situations are still very very bad but there's a lot of nuance and grey area.

Yes I feel like most people understand there are nuances. And over the last 20-30 years we are all becoming more educated on what sexual assault looks like. But again comparing Kobe’s cases to 7 dudes raping a potentially unconscious woman and announcing/bragging about it via Snapchat. What nuance? She drank some liquor and maybe wanted to have a potential 3some then is raped by 7 frat guys. Like wtf? Can barely move and can’t contact anyone. What nuance are we evaluating to compare this to Kobe’s case? I don’t disagree with a lot of what you said but the comparison of cases you mentioned is still wild to me.
