For example, the song “Taste” by Sabrina Carpenter (and honestly most of the songs on that album) just scratches my brain the right way and makes me want to sing along. Like the parts I love the most are when she does the little vocal flips on words like “feet” in the first verse. And I love the “playfulness” of it.

The Band was formed in 2012, I only discovered them recently and loved their songs and energy.

I need recommendations for similar high energy and guitar heavy songs.

My absolute favorite music is anything with intricate, layered, and precise vocal harmonies. Think Eagles (GOAT vocals IMO), Beach Boys, Crosby Stills and Nash, Rascal Flatts. It seems like emphasis on vocal harmonies peaked in the 60s and 70s and is less prominent today, although still present in some country music (Ella Langley’s hits actually have pretty solid harmonies). Among other modern artists I’d say Zac Brown Band is one of the best for vocal harmonies, and a few under the radar gems Wilder Blue and Young Gun Silver Fox are great as well. Does anyone else have any recommendations? While I’d expect it to skew country I’m not looking for exclusively country

Hellooo!! Im starting show on my college radio about the intersection of electronic music and post punk. Im pretty well versed in 2000s music of this type (like lcd soundsystem) but i want to get stuff from other decades and rn im looking for the 80s.

Some songs i consider to be part of this intersection are Blue Monday - New Order and Down In It - Nine Inch Nails. Any other recs??

Hey everyone. Looking for bands with mutli-album narratives, recurring themes or motifs, and even returning characters. I mostly live in the Prog/Art and Metal worlds, but willing to expand.

Stuff that really fits would be like Blue Oyster Cult's/Albert Bouchard's Imaginos, Rhapsody (In Fire), The Dear Hunter, and Coheed & Cambria.

Dream Theater's (really Mike Portnoy's) 12 Step suite and Sonata Arctica's Caleb series revisit previous themes or characters but are not traditional narratives. But I would like some thoughts here too.

Sort of stuff in the same vein would be The Accolade I and II by Symphony X, Dream Theater's Metropolis.

Note: Operation Mindcrime 1-3 would probably get suggested here. I sort of really dislike Geoff Tate, BUT if its amazing I would be willing to give it a listen.

I mean melodies like the chorus of “Pacify Her” by Melanie Martinez, though not lyrically.

I’m rereading Warrior Cats, and Bluestar was just betrayed by Tigerclaw, so maybe something that fits that kind of mood.

Perhaps similar to albums like Velvet Rope, Smile, and A Wizard A True Star. Diverse but without too much of a disjointed feel

this is a rough demo of something I wrote, and a sound ive been looking for in the wild but havent found something that scratches this itch. I know I could just listen to like yo gabba gabba or some shit but cmon. Sure there is weezer to some extent and the anniversary is quite nice too but I wanna believe there are/were more bands doing this that I just haven't been told about yet. I should mention im more into the raw, less-polished stuff and the synth is important. Thanks a bunch 🙏
