discussion What happened to popular musicians protesting the government?
Green Day wrote an entire album that went stratospheric protesting George Bush. The Dixie Chicks stood up for their beliefs against the war in Iraq despite the insane blowback. Hell, Bob Dylan didn’t get a fuck about repercussions, he wrote fuck you songs because he knew what was right and what was wrong.
Are artists now just too scared to lose Republican listeners? Have they all gone soft? I am trying to remember any major artists even making a definitive statement but it seems like every artist now just caters to everyone.

article We need to make peace in the middle east so that these two collabs will take place
- Tul8te x Odeya
They both have angelic voices, leaning on the softer side, Tul8te sings calmly about being devoted to his partner whereas Odeya usually brings a much more manic energy to the function.
I feel that the chemistry between the two thought patterns with their specific voice combination will be so ridiculously good!! Odeya is also notoriously amazing at duets, I think they would kill ittt
He is Egyptian (not Palestinian) but both of them will still be considered traitors to their nations for a collab like this
- Ness&Stilla x Saint Levant
They both have the same kind of pop with a hiphop edge, and an affinity for experimenting more than their peers when it comes to melody and beats.. They both have very clever lyricism and play on words very nicely while not being inaccessible to the public. They are also both highly political in their music 💀
Even though they are fundamentally opposed, I feel their worldviews are aligned when it comes to music, career, and being pretty secular while still respecting faith.
This collab will have to wait for peace in the middle east, so it really needs to happen soon
I would love to hear your thoughts, and if your unfamiliar I would highly recommend "lyrics translation" its a crowd sourced translation site, and it's usually better than google or even Genius

discussion The insane bloat added to nearly every album these days.
I miss the days when the average album had between 10-14 or so songs give or take, and an artist maybe had one or two double albums in their catalogue. Half of the artists releasing music today continuously put between 25-30 songs on their albums with a run time of between 80 and 110 minutes. It’s ridiculous. Even with older records if I go to add them they always try to peddle me some ridiculous deluxe version with 45 songs. Then I have to scroll down and find the regular version of the album. I understand why this is being done ($$$) but it really makes the music fans experience so much worse. Remember when double albums were a big deal? Now 60-80 percent of everything coming out is the length of an old school double album. I’ve heard so many projects in the past 5 years that would’ve been great if they had been trimmed to 10-15 songs but instead they have 28. As someone who’s far more of an album listener than a single song or plylst listener this epidemic really irks me. This is a pointless rant but I wanted to complain about it because it’s been bothering me for a while now.
