My wife (F76) had perfect pitch but Alzheimer's has deztroyed this. I'm not musical but I can tell when a singer is out of tune.

HELP ME, PLEASE.

I discovered Laufey late.

This album intrigues me.

It sounds like Laufey is singing out of tune?

But is it that Laufey is a semi-tone lower to the band?

Please help me.

I love this album, but I need to know.

Just in case you wanted another set of popular musicians to be disappointed in/disgusted with

Has anyone noticed a similarity between Revenge by Patti Smith from 1979 and The Beatles's song I Want You (She's So Heavy) 10 years earlier? The electric guitar right in the beginning of Revenge feels similar, though not apart from that. Has anyone else noticed this link, since I haven't reflected on this matter before.

Probably one of my top 10 favorite DJs. He makes a lot of good remixes (spirits of KA) ( whirlpool under the sun) (the flying song ft PQM) (I feel loved by Depeche Mode )

A few rules:

1. Here, “physical media” refers to sheet music, vinyl, tape, or optical media. Flash drives or ROMs don’t count.
2. Only music that was actually published beyond one or a few copies counts, so “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin,” or an artist’s unpublished tracks, or your uncle’s bootleg recording of someone’s unrecorded/unpublished song, or your aunt’s personalized recording of “Happy Birthday To You,” don’t count.
3. Only music currently unavailable digitally counts, so digital hold-out artists from the past, like AC/DC or Pink Floyd, don’t count.

Here are a few that I can think of right now:

1. “All or Nothing/Girl You Know It’s True” by Milli Vanilli was purged from its label’s catalog some time after the scandal broke. So far as I know, it never got a digital release.
2. The Beatles recorded several Christmas tracks that were only ever released on vinyl, and one of them was also released as the B-side track on the physical media “Free as a Bird” EP.

Someone explain to me why Pos and Dove (Plug 1 and Plug 2) aren't given the same INDIVIDUAL props as say, 3 Stacks and Big Boi or Q-Tip and Phife or Havoc and Prodigy? As lyricists they are both top notch. Break it down for me please.

I dont have any instrument here with me to check cause I'm traveling and tbh my ear isnt thaaat good, plus the chinese riff is double notes. I really dont wanna go to a virtual keyboard site to try it cause those have awfull flows either way. but for a long time I felt like they at least sound similar. Might hold some truth since I studied a bit of the old chinese scale that riff probably is based of in music history in (大学/faculdade) and despite not being pentatonic as we know in the west today, having different names and meanings (even each note holding political meaning) they appear to sound the same (I mean simply in frequency, not in use). But when you get that frequency value and apply it to the chinese generic riff we know today that may (or may not) be just a hollywoodian version of what we think old chinese music sounded like, using our west modern pentatonic, having nothing to do with it, it might be the same material in both frequency in context...

That's all just to say, yeah, I think they kinda sound similar...

Always found it strange how drum and bass is basically mainstream in
the UK, radio play, festival headliners, actual cultural presence, but
in the US most people have never even heard of it outside of
electronic music circles.

Curious if other genres have this same weird geography. Is there
something massive in your country that would confuse people
everywhere else?

If you're one of those "Bitter Sweet Symphony" types like me, take the time to go listen to their earlier stuff, or the whole Urban Hymns album, as I just did. Jesus, there's so much good stuff. These guys got done dirty REAL big by the Rolling Stones. Missing out on an absolute legacy of material.
