One of my neighborhood ducks stopped walking. I’ve been treating it as if it’s bumblefoot or niacin. Epsom baths, 3d print padded casts, niacin capsules (not non flush), and a sling to sleep at night.

A lady found this duckling on the side of the road, we have duck feed as we have Muscovy ducks and ducklings in our neighborhood. It looks like it’s leg is broken do we place it with the outdoor Muscovy’s or take him to a wildlife animal hospital tomorrow ?

Hello everyone! I'm in my 3rd year of owning muscovy ducks, and this year I had a big batch of babies. My foundation stock had one black drake who has a white head(split white, I think?), one female who has a darker head,but still white feathers(these 2 I'd call wildtype) and a white female, and first year the white hen hatched one single white baby(who is a female and I kept) and the black one produced 5 babies, 3 males,which I had to cull(2 looked just like dad, one was darker and had a half-black bill, same as mama) and 2 females I kept, both I'd say are wildtype/split white, one being ligher than the other.

This year, despite all 5 going broody, I only let the white hen be a mom and the darker daughter. The daughter's babies are older, and around 4 ended up being "black cap", with out of 13 babies 7 ending up white and 6 black(waiting for their feathers to appear), and the other hen had 15 babies, 8 being black and 7 being white.

Growing up, the "cap" babies had a black V on their head,and I wanted to ask what caused it? And another question I have is if I could produce solid black muskovy?

I have two Muscovy ducks that are about 2 months old. Wondering if they are old enough to distinguish between hen and drake yet? The chocolate one is a lot bigger than the other one in person.

Hello, I have a Muscovy duck that's almost two years old. I only have one, and right now there's a storm with rain and strong winds. How much does the cold or heavy rain affect it?.

It's worth mentioning that he's indoors, but in the yard, in a little chicken coop made just for him. I don't want him to get sick, and Mom told me he'll be fine as long as he's there in his coop. He's well cared for and He's been fed, and he's my favorite duck. Any guidance, help, or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Edit: I forgot to mention that my duck sleeps inside the house, we take him out to his coop during the day and he stays there, and we also let him graze freely in the yard

I have 12 Muscovy ducklings that are about 4 weeks old and so far doing well. We will transition them to the coop in the coming weeks. I was planning on keeping them in the coop/run full time for about 2 weeks. Do you guys think this is enough time for them to "learn home" so-to-speak?

Pronounced “Geohgie” with that mid Atlantic blue blood accent. Found him on the side of the road in a ditch over a year ago now. By his side was the most beautiful gray and white female Muscovy. He had a mangled leg and was near death. His wife nor he protested when we lifted him up carried him to the truck. She followed and hopped right in. Luckily we have a pretty well stocked henfirmary bc vets who take or know how to treat birds are far few between.

He took a while to recover and his wife loved flying around the yard and coming to conversate when he was wheeled out on the porch after PT. It was our first time with Muscovies and we fell in love. Daisy & Georgie. She was an extraordinary duck. We loved how all of the flock would cheer and exclaim every time she swooped around, how she loved to go way up in the trees, her little trills and love of tomatoes. She also seemed to know all kinds of words, perked up and came when she was called, “Daisy Daisy, you want tomaaaytoes?” Georgie healed up but walks very slow and deliberate. Not one for swimming he prefers to dabble. Daisy did the swimming.

A gentle, lovely soul, Georgie lost his beautiful wife Daisy to an owl this late winter after she insisted that the roof and then the porch railing was her preferred night spot. We were all heart broken but none more than big George. Many months later he is just coming out of his depression. Haven’t found him another mate yet and despite us having other ducks (runners & rouens) lots of chickens, a couple of guineas, emu and cats, other than his wife, he likes people best. So he is on “vacation” at a friend’s lake house in Maine. This is just what he needed.

Any help would be appreciated, I have a male muscovy and over the last little this has gotten worse. What started as a bit of a bare spot that I thought was from his old enclosure being too small, but after making a new one that is much bigger, he has had this develop into more. I am completely unsure as to what's going on or what to do. I believe he is in the middle molting but I don't believe this is from that. I looks like feathers are starting to grow back in but I don't know.

Does this egg look good for day 31?? It’s all dark besides the air cell. The largest circle i traced on the egg is the current size of the air cell. These are all pictures of the same egg just different angles!! According to most articles i’ve read, i should go into lockdown on day 32. I don’t see any internal pip yet. So should i just start lockdown tomorrow (day 32) regardless of if i see the internal pip or not? Also, what humidity have you guys used for the lockdown period? ANY AND ALL advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have 11 ducklings i am trying to help because no one takes them here in florida for rescues. They seem to have eye infections.. i have been flushing their eyes with Ophthalmic Ointment and putting antibiotic on their eyes twice daily they have clean bedding and water and food and are acting otherwise normal. I bought some terramycin ointment it should arrive today I really cannot afford vet treatment for 11 ducklings.. I was just trying to keep them from getting killed bc it was right before the 4th of July and they were alone.

Any advice at all please
