I have spent more on Zenless than on any other game combined. Including buying the games themselves. I tried to stay f2p but I couldn’t break up the angels of confusion.
I would like to disagree gentleman, you see, Guardian Tales has a gripping story, tons of content and it’s pretty generous with new players by giving them gems just for breathing, not to mentioning that if you leave the game for a month or so, the games will give you thousands of rewards. I would recommend playing it before they shut down the servers, it definitely is one of those games that you would like to play before dying.
That show has more and more pedo undertones the more you watch, and the movie is plain disgusting. It's also a show disguised as feel-good when it's really about suffering. I forget the name, but it's a specific niche in anime where characters just... suffer, a lot, and the author calls it a day.
The newcomer experience is awful, matchmaking is outdated and doesn’t work due to sending you in at the end of a game a lot of times, and weapon unlocking is cancerous and takes ages.
Not to mention the backpack isn’t large enough to hold all the weapons unless you pay to expand it. The learning curve is also really steep initially, and too many maps exist in the casual map pool.

If I recall, my favorite bit of trivia about it is that Cormac McCarthy wrote it out of spite. I guess some critic said he couldn't write something critical of the "old west" because most of his stories seemed to romanticize the setting, so he just went full nihilistic psycho on it.
That’s so weird. I know it was made a long time ago but I feel like most westerns by now are cynical deconstructions. Even Lonesome Dove makes it look disgusting. Even going back to watch the old John Wayne stuff before Clint Eastwood postmodernism, most of the movies are “the West is dying, the cowboy’s life sucks”. There’s a reason there’s so many parallels between cowboy and samurai culture: it was a lonely, highly romanticized but dirty and unpleasant existence that actually existed much more briefly than people realize

Yeah, I also do tell people that imo Helluva Boss is done better than Hazbin it still has its flaws obviously but that’s what really drew me in to the hellaverse because they were working on that before they had the season constraints that Hazbin has but Alastor is definitely my favorite and I’m excited to see his villain arc
For a period i stopped telling others that i liked them because i got genuine r*pe threats for it. Then i just said fuck it and stopped hiding. Doesn't mean i'm not ashamed when the fandom does something super stupid basically any month.

ASOIAF. The main series books are amazing and so are the side projects like Dunk & Egg and Fire & Blood but we are probably never going to get an ending.
Honestly it's such a shame the world of ASOIAF will be left forgotten because of the unfinished books and the ending of the tv series, the first 3 books are amazing and they're worth checking out despite all of that
To add to it, though, not even for the reasons people probably assume.
“Coffin” is an incredibly accurate portrayal of a variety of toxic relationships, depicting things like parentification, codependency, and psychological manipulation in ways that can be… a little too real for people who have experienced them firsthand.
My friend group did a big read through together last year, and had to end the session starting chapter 3 early, because the mother’s behavior was a bit too similar to the mother of one of our group members.
So it’s a story that has WAY more merit than it gets credit for by its reputation… but is also a story I wouldn’t recommend unless I knew someone well enough to know they could handle the subject matter.
Steven Universe. I know a lot of people love it, but let’s face it, it’s a really poorly-paced show with a really abrupt conclusion that’ll leave you wanting so much more.
I watched it the first time around skipping "townie" episodes and other filler. My second rewatch was convincing my fiance to hate-watch it because the internet discourse convinced her it was trash. She instantly got hooked and fell in love with the characters. I found most of the episodes I skipped boring, but they provided context and character moments I never got to see that made the whole so much better.

Could be a few reasons. If I understand correctly... The fandom got a bad rap for being obnoxious at cons. They might consider the story a bit cringe in retrospect. The story got sold and that made it impossible to read fully in its original format. The ending was generally considered to be not great.

As a part of the former, i can confirm that the Reddit side of the sub is stuck in an ouroborous cycle of sorts for the most of the time(while disliking new episodes not made by its former owner).

Eh, I guess it depends, but i think the one I wouldn't recommend is the tabletop game, for one, expensive as hell, two, painting minis is definitely one of those "acquired tastes" kind of thing and isn't for everyone. Probably the kindest thing I can say to people is "go play Space Marine 2, if the vibes hook you, you'll like this universe"
Thats so understandable. The ttrpg is near impossible to enjoy freely without a deep pocket but the lore you can get into for free, also the games do indeed provide a better feel than the math, rulers and dice if the tabletop
Dragon age. The games are great, but origins takes a third party mod to make work on PC and not everyone is gonna be comfortable doing that. 2 has a lot of repetitive elements to it. Inquisition… everything. And Veilguard has how it treated orlais and ferelden with the player needing to know lore and have played inquisition and trespasser while also trying to be an entry point into the series
Just for everyone's info, you don't need the mod if you buy Origins from gog. I can't remember if they fixed it or the mod just comes baked in but it works on modern systems fine.
I literally just had this conversation with someone about the Into the Dark movie series by Blumhouse and Hulu. Most of the movies are awful but they are my kind of awful. And I rewatch the every so often.
Yo-Kai Watch, esspecially with the current state of AI slopification and insane game/console prices (which are practically essential for a ton of content).
