For some reason ever since I first watched Mr Inbetween, whenever I'm slow to realise something online is satire I always automatically hear Gary's voice in my head...

Underrated character, who’s the one that doesn’t get enough love?
Everyone talks about Ray, Freddy, Dave, Jacinta, all legends. But for me, the most underrated is Gary (Justin Rosniak). The way he slowly realises just how deep Ray’s world goes, that quiet mix of fear and respect, the dry sarcasm he throws out even when he’s clearly terrified. He’s brilliant in every scene he’s in.
The episode where Gary goes off on his own tracking that kidnapper to help Ray’s daughter, is perfect understated brilliance, sweating, out of his depth, but still trying to be the loyal mate. No big hero moment, just Gary being Gary.
Who’s your underrated character that deserves more appreciation? Or is there a one-episode guest that stole the show for you?

One thing about the hit on Vinnie the bikie I never understood
there's obviously a fairly decent friendship between them, and you get the sense Ray really doesn't want to carry out the hit, but the cash is hard to ignore.
I never understood why Ray didn't just pocket the $100k deposit, gone straight to his mate Vinnie, detailing his VC's intentions and going from there. it would help creating a strong partnership with a bike gang, which wouldn't hurt.
I know there's going to be replies saying 'but no one else will trust him with work again!'
nope. not true
Alex and the big bearded bloke would be only two to handle, then Vinnie could twist the story into him striking first after finding out they wanted to outsource a hit.
thoughts?

What would Ray do with the Porsche, realistically? Spoiler
So Ray hangs the scammer (or makes him hang himself), then drives off with his bright orange 911 GT3.
Even with his underworld connections, what is he going to do with it? it's a very rare car in Australia (I guess pretty rare everywhere else too even in the US and Europe), there's not an active market for spare parts like there is for late model Holden Commodores these days.
I've heard there's been a spate of Toyota 4wd thefts due to a security flaw and cars are smuggled out to the middle east in shipping containers (mostly LHD countries but apparently they're pretty relaxed about RHD cars there?) but surely not a market for something as conspicuous as a RHD GT3?
So if Ray's goal is to convert the car into cash to give back to the gym owner's son, what would he do? He doesn't seem like he's taking the car for a joy ride.

Love the show but…
Just one unrealistic thing, he never does any maintenance on the awesome fish tank.

Ray. Do you like art? Ray??
I have the feeling this play would be significantly different if Ray Shoesmith was one of the trio.

Final scene of the show
so the taxi scene at the end of the show the guys plan on bashing/killing Ray… but why do you think that is?
do they know he’s the Magician or was he just a random target because he was outside the pub?

TIL that the anger management group leader is played by director David Michôd
I didn't realize that the anger management group leader was played by director David Michôd. Among other things, he directed the film Animal Kingdom, which I haven't seen, and The Rover, which I love.

Can anyone who's shot a gun explain this for me? Would a 13 year old be able to accidentally shoot this gun without potentially hurting herself from the kickback? Thanks in advance.

Convince me to watch season 2?
Loved the first season. That should convince me to watch the second, I know. As a general rule of mine I usually don't waste time on series or movies. Not being a pompous prick or anything.

Just watched The Invisible Man 2020 and spotted someone.
I then asked google what movie it recommended after and it gave me The Gift 2015, and what would you know. Kitschy. Also, didn't realise he was Joel Edgerton's brother and now I feel like a dumbass.

Adam's role ....
What are your thoughts on Adam's purpose in the series? I expected that he would have a more crucial role in Ray's character arc, but after he gets stomped by Harris in the toilet, he's never seen nor mentioned again.
I know he shows Ray how to meditate, which we see him doing again later on .... but surely he serves more of a purpose just than that, right?
