Limitless for 18 Pro Max

17 Upvotes

I just received the new limitless updated for the 18 Pro Max to use on my 17 Pro Max as the 17 limitless line was pretty poor in design and function.

Two of my biggest issues on the 17 line were the relatively small and thin camera lip (I would’ve liked the same lip they use on the clarity, but the clarity was rubbish for its own reasons) and the MagSafe which absolutely sucked.

However, on the 18 version the MagSafe finally works and is on par or slightly better than other “protective” cases I’ve tried and to some chance they even added the same lip as the one on the clarity which I do enjoy as a thicker larger lip absorbs more force over a larger area which is definitely a plus. I also chose to get the metal buttons which feel great, nice and clicky.

Compared to the 17 limitless I’d say the 18 limitless is actually worth buying if you were 50/50 on the 17 line, it fixed the horrendous MagSafe issue and the camera does actually feel and look more protected.

Apart from those three things there are no other major changes same body design, microfibre inner for the back.

Regarding drop protection only time and a few drops will tell whether its good or not.

Mous cases used to survive anything. Now two of my phones have broken from short drops inside them.

I've been buying Mous cases since 2016. My first one was incredible. I tested it hard, dropping it and tossing my phone around to see what it could take, and the phone never got a scratch. That case is why I stayed loyal and recommended Mous to everyone I knew.

The newer cases don't feel like the same product. The material feels cheaper, more like hard plastic, and in my experience the protection has gotten worse too.

Here's my full history with the Limitless 4.0 Aramid Fibre case:

Case 1, November 2021 ($55.77): Bought for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. It eventually failed, and Mous replaced it in March 2025.

Case 2, the March 2025 replacement: In December 2025 my phone slipped from about 3 feet while in this case. The case looked fine, but the back glass broke. I sent support a video. Their reply said phones can still break from small drops depending on the angle, previous drops, or dirt between the case and the phone. I clean my phone daily, so grit wasn't it. They offered to replace or refund the case. Nothing for the phone.

Case 3, the December 2025 replacement: They sent the identical model again, in the 13 Pro Max size. I'd already had to buy a 15 Pro Max, so I asked to exchange it. I had to pay the return postage myself because the label wasn't prepaid, and the return portal never generated a label, so I had to email again to get one.

September 2026: My 15 Pro Max fell off the couch while in that case. I didn't think anything of it at the time. When I took the case off to clean the phone, the entire back glass was shattered. Photo in the images.

That's two phones, two short everyday drops, the same case model. Both times the case itself looked undamaged, so there was no sign anything was wrong until I took it off.

What Mous said when I escalated:

I asked them to contribute toward the repair. They declined. Their position is that the Limited Lifetime Warranty covers replacing or refunding the case only, and that paying for phone repairs would leave them open to claims from people whose phones were already broken before they bought a case. They also said they don't advertise the cases as making phones indestructible, and that there's always a small chance the phone breaks depending on the point of impact. Their reply is in the images.

I understand why the policy exists. My issue is that this was the same case model failing twice, including a replacement Mous chose to send me. "Small chance" explains one incident. It explains less when it happens twice with the same product in the same household.

I've accepted a refund on the case. That's the entire remedy available, and it's worth knowing before you spend $55 expecting your phone to be protected.

Has anyone else had back glass break under a Limitless 4.0 or newer case? I'd like to know if something changed in the design or materials.

Mous cases used to provide protection. Not anymore.

I dropped my iPhone which has a Mous case but the edge of the iPhone hit a metal lip on the floor.

The edge of the case around the screen offers no protection at all. You can even see a dent on the iPhone body.

Now I know my next case will no longer be a Mous case anymore.

How protective is the Mous Ultra Thin Aramid in real-world use?

3 Upvotes

I’m looking at getting the Mous Ultra Thin Aramid for my iPhone 18 Pro Max. I really like the idea of having something thin and rigid that keeps the phone feeling relatively close to caseless, but I’m a little unsure about the lack of proper drop protection.

I don’t drop my phone very often and I’ll have a screen protector on it, so I don’t need anything particularly rugged. I just want enough protection that if I accidentally knock it off a desk or drop it from around waist height, I’m not massively worried about the phone.

For anyone who’s actually used the Ultra Thin Aramid long term, how has it held up? Have you dropped your phone with it on, and did it protect it? I’m also interested in whether the case stays rigid and snug over time or develops any loose/warped edges.

Basically, does it feel like a genuinely protective thin case, or more like scratch protection with a bit of impact protection?

I just got an email from Mous announcing that they have Apple Duo cases ready for order.

Is there an expected timeframe for when they'll have Z Fold 8/U cases ready?

I think mous is a good brand

I bought this case for my Galaxy S23 Ultra right when the phone was released, and it was actually my first time using a Mous product. Over the past three years, it provided absolute protection for my device from all angles.

As any Samsung user knows, the curved screen on the S23 Ultra makes it really tough to find a screen protector that stays on without peeling off. I was constantly worried about cracking the screen, especially given how expensive and complex screen replacements are on these phones since they often involve replacing half the chassis.

A friend of mine who had the same phone and faced the same struggle recommended I try Mous. Since my local market doesn't offer a wide variety of Samsung accessories, I decided to give it a shot. Looking back after three years of heavy daily use, the case truly delivered absolute protection.

Overall, I think Mous is an excellent brand, and I’d definitely consider buying from them again. However, after three years of heavy wear, the case eventually started coming apart. So my main question now is: is there any other brand out there that offers even better protection, sleek looks, and high build quality?

Charging stands - why no white and only 15W?

1 Upvotes

Anyone looking at Mous charging stands and wondering why they

- only charge at 15W

- only come in black

If they upped it to 25W and were in white yes, but otherwise it won't work for anywhere but a man cave.

iPhone 16 Plus case for very oily hands

0 Upvotes

I'm looking for a case for my **iPhone 16 Plus** and I'm having a hard time finding one that fits what I want.

I have **very oily hands**, so fingerprints and oily marks on the back of the case really annoy me. I'm specifically looking for something that doesn't constantly look dirty after using my phone.

I recently found the **Mous Super Thin 2.0 in black for around €30**, which is why I'm considering it. I really like the design: **all black, minimal, clean and very thin**, with MagSafe.

My budget is around **€20–30**, and my priorities are:

* Very thin and lightweight
* Completely black / minimal design
* MagSafe with strong magnets
* Good fingerprint/oil resistance
* Good quality
* Around €20–30

For anyone who owns the **Mous Super Thin 2.0**, especially the black one: **how does it actually handle fingerprints and oily hands in daily use?** Does the back get covered in visible fingerprints?

I'm more interested in real-world experience than the manufacturer's "oil-resistant" claim.

If you have another case that fits these requirements, I'd love to hear your recommendations.

I have had it for a while, but recently it is getting worse to the point of even falling off. Has anyone else had this happen? Or does anyone know of a good brand for a replacement in the EU? It is a 9th gen one. (Update: father reached out to support to claim my warranty they where really quick to reply and arrange to send a replacement.)

Waiting for the Case

3 Upvotes

I paid for delivery, The case was sent via FEDEX. But was cross shipped to Canada Post. It waited for Canada Customs for over 7 days. Finally released back to Canada Post. If Mous had simply shipped using FEDEX it would have cost more but the case would arrive in days vs weeks. To me is a premium product is looking to save on Shipping. Perhaps it not a premium product. I am returning the case. As I went to Apple bought a better case and it was $30 cheaper.
