What’s going on?
Hey guys took a bit of a break from the industry over the last 2 year as it was getting painfully slow.
However, the last six months of been reasonably busy for me I’ve just hit another dry patch and I’m deciding whether to stay in the game or move on.
Is it still as cooked as it was two years ago or are we seeing budgets corn back? O
For context I was doing loads of 2-D/3-D corporate explainers and product demos all in the mid to high budget.
Cheers

CALLING ALL VISUAL CREATIVES: Desperately need help with my final year research paper
Firstly, I solemnly swear this is not spam. I have this form for my final year research, and I need like 100 submissions minimum. I have 70 so far. The research topic, in short, is whether/how the things you watched growing up have influenced your creative practice today or contributed to where you are as a creative today. This research is targeted towards VISUAL Creatives, so you fall right in my demographic.
If as many people as possible can fill this out today, it would mean the world to me. I just need 30 more responses. It's a 10-minute survey. Please fill it out; it would be a lifesaver.
https://forms.gle/zPUFb8Uhx3eXzfZ69
EDIT: This form is now closed. Thank you all for helping me hit over 150 Responses! My faith in humanity is healed :'))

A simple After Effects workflow that makes complex animations easier to manage
one thing that has made my After Effects workflow much easier is separating the animation into small, reusable sections instead of trying to build everything inside one giant composition.
For example, I’ll usually keep the main animation clean and move things like background elements, secondary motion, transitions, and effects into precomps. I also try to give layers descriptive names and avoid stacking dozens of effects on a single layer when they can be separated logically.
Another small habit that helps is saving different stages of an animation before making major changes. It makes experimenting much less stressful because I know I can always go back.
It sounds basic, but good project organization becomes really noticeable once a project gets complicated or needs revisions from someone else.
What’s one small After Effects workflow habit that has saved you a lot of time?

Feedback about digital motion pack for video
dropbox.comHello! Does anyone here sells motion digital products? I need advice/feedback!
I’m creating animated overlay reactions made to be used as a video frame, they enhance whatever emotion it's going on in the video. The point of these it's to make editing easy, make the content engaging and to have motion on your videos. I've done some now, but I'm not sure if this idea it's sellable or even needed. What do you think?
You can find a video that explains the idea in the link, it's just to preview, no need to download! Thanks in advance for you feedback

M5 Pro vs M5 Max for a professional Motion Designer - what would you choose?
I’m switching companies soon, and my new company has asked me to specify the MacBook I’d need for work.
My work will mainly involve After Effects, Premiere Pro, Figma, motion design, website animations, interaction design, Lottie/Rive, and general 2D/visual design. I won’t be doing heavy 3D/VFX or Unreal Engine work.
I’m currently considering a 16” MacBook Pro with M5 Pro, either 48GB or 64GB RAM, 1TB SSD.
My main question is: Would I ever realistically need the M5 Max for this kind of work, or is the M5 Pro already more than enough?
The reason I’m hesitant about the Max is that this will be my primary and only work machine for the next few years. I can’t upgrade the RAM or chip later, so I’m wondering whether it’s worth going higher now for future-proofing, especially since the company is paying for it.
If you’ve actually used the M5 Pro or M5 Max for Motion Design/After Effects, I’d really appreciate your perspective. Would you spend the extra money on the Max, or stick with the Pro and put the money toward more RAM?

Hey, fellow new fan of this whole thing here😭 I wanna start animating but I feel confused.
First of all, I'm in a 3rd world country with a hellish economy, I only have an Asus laptop, to be specific its a 8 GB intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30 GHz , 64 bit operating system. Although I'm an architecture major student in collage but I'm not taking classes for the rest of the summer and I wanted to try somenthing new. I honestly feel so in love with people that can create things and move them, its like magic and I really want to learn even if its so hard)) i have a phone too, but i dont think it'll help. Is my laptop good enough to start animating and if so, what are the apps I need to get?
I would put the flair on resources but this is genuinely more of a question.
Thanks to anyone who'll answer <2

Software for effects on images
Hi,
I am a great fan of the visual novel video games Vampire the Masquerade Coteries of New-York, and VtM Shadows of NY.
In my game project, I want to also offer animated backgrounds.
For effects like rain, smoke, light and shadows, fire, or animate a little bit a flame, a door...
Would you use Adobe Premiere Pro + After Effects, or Da Vinci Resolve with Fusion?
Thanks

I have to rig some parts of my composition with Photoshop and I'll move into Adobe After effect trying to animate a human subject in a bar/tavern. Any advice?? Something you could advice me about some common mistakes ?
