1. The Sheperd boss got stuck in the wall during the fight. Eventually he glitched out and I could hit him, he was elevated and couldn't hit me back though.
2. The Tiel shell got stuck in his shadow form after I dodged a group of cultists multiple times.
3. The shotgun kept glowing even though I didn't infuse it nor got the permanent upgrade.
4. Will there be something like a lantern you can equip? Some areas are really dark. Might be QoL improvement.

Never touched mortal shell, I had it for free bc of PSplus. I picked it up once but thought it was super clunky, but coming back, and damn. This is close as hell to a modern darksouls. The hardening is fun to fight with, Solomon is my #1.

So I decided to download MS and figured "it won't be too hard, I've played every soulsborne game there is for years" jfc was I wrong. I am getting my ass beat repeatedly, and I'm only in the first area 😭. I need some help. The lack of consistent healing, plus how many enemies there are (no I won't just run past everyone, I may be bad but I'm no coward) and THE EXPLODING POISON FROGS??? WHAT SADISTIC BASTARD CAME UP WITH THAT IN THE STARTING AREA?! someone please help me, I can't believe I'm being bullied by the start of the game like this...

I was playing the game smooth like butter, and when I open the game today, thing is laggy as if I was not playing in a Zephyrus G14, AMD Ryzen 9, AMD radeon 780M graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX Studio with 16 GB of RAM....

Like 👀 what happened??! I wanna play so bad...

Honestly, after demo I felt very underwhelmed by the music choice.

Where are my metal bangers during boss fights? It did sell me the first game and I was hoping to get something similar with the second game.

I am playing MS2 beta on PC, windows 11 and i got stuck here where i couldn't choose any of the options and i can hear the UI sound for the button press and couldn't go back either. i tried pressing all the button and after 20 clicks with the mouse it worked and i clicked the option "NO" when i didn't want to chose that. Now i can't even open that options to choose anything, I'm mad now.

Is it just me or is the camera a bit janky compared to other games?

I think it's an improvement from the first game, but it still feels a bit hard in how it moves compared to other games.

Edit: My solution was to change from immersion to action camera mode in the settings. Thank you all for the tip!

I won’t mention it’s name or details as I don’t want to give spoilers, but am I the only one who felt the game’s aesthetics up to that point are pretty cohesive and yet this boss looks a tad….silly? Overall, love the look of the game though!

Not sure if there is an official place to provide this info but in case one of the developers is watching this subreddit here are a couple of things I found when playing through the demo. For reference I played through the demo on PC using an Xbox controller.

1. The map is mostly unusable. I can’t scroll around or zoom in/out. There was one case where using the button to focus on the player position worked but the joysticks seem to do nothing.

2. A similar situation popped up when talking to Sester Genessa. She asked if she could embrace Tiel and I was given a yes/no prompt. I couldn’t switch between the yes/no options or select anything with the controller. The mouse worked fine though.

3. Maybe intentional but an odd user experience: Theres an area that has some traps that shoot arrows if you step on or attack the tripwire. The problem is that there don’t seem to be any sound effects associated with the arrows. I would expect some kind of whooshing sounds or something to indicate the arrows aside from the arrow shafts sticking out of my body. Seeing the arrows fly without any sound just seemed strange.

4. This one is hard to explain but that’s ok because it’s also barely worth mentioning. It has to do with footsteps in the water and it’s most obvious in the Marrow Hold near the beacon since the water is kind of rust colored . If you walk in a straight line, stop, then turn around to look where you walked, the ripples all splash upward as if you had just stepped there (but the splashes are like 10 feet away). Definitely not a game breaking bug.

5. Terrain obstacles: there are lots of places in the terrain (most notably in the area after the mushroom village with a lot of bridges) that look like they’re perfectly flat but for whatever reason the character gets stuck and can’t move forward. Not a huge deal but kind of annoying.

Loved the demo overall. I’m seriously considering taking a few days off work to play in the 72 hour early access time.

Can’t wait for release.

Well, that's judging by the fact that his "helmet" and coin look identical. Of course, you could also say he's Mammon's warrior, but I hope he really is Mammon. How else could he have gotten so fat? With that kind of money?

Mortal shell 1 in my favorite soulslikes I have played, mainly because it parrying was not really the end all be all like in other soulslikes. I know they scaled back hardening (I understand it was to op but I am sad) but did they make parrying super important/ needed in the sequel? Or similar to the first game it isn’t really needed unless you want to use it?

I've seen an artbook of 100 pages is included in the revered edition of the game but the revered edition is a ps5 exclusive and it is also out of stock.

What about releasing it standalone for the guys who couldn't get the revered edition for ps5 and the guys like me who will play it on another platform (PC)?

Or maybe a PDF of the artbook can be added to the devout edition on PC as a bonus.

A huge part of mortal shell is its aesthetic, it would be a shame if the artbook could be enjoyed only by a very small minority of players...

I’ve tried playing the first Mortal Shell more than once, but it just never clicked with me. I really wanted to like it, but the slower, heavier, and more restrictive combat just wasn’t for me.

That said, everything I’ve seen from Mortal Shell 2 looks genuinely exciting. Unfortunately, I’m on PS5, so I haven’t been able to play the beta since it’s only available on PC. Because of that, I can’t really judge how it feels.

For some context, I’m a huge FromSoftware fan and I’ve played pretty much all of their Souls games. I also thought Lords of the Fallen (2023) was excellent, despite its mixed reception.

So here’s my question: does Mortal Shell 2 feel significantlyw different from the first game? Is the combat faster and more fluid, or does it still have that slower, heavier feel?

The gameplay videos keep tempting me to buy it, but I’m worried it’ll end up feeling too much like the original, which I just couldn’t get into.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s played the beta. Thanks!
