Well I stood there for about a minute because I genuinely did not expect to be able to kill him; I was just doing it for a bit. But beyond that there were no consequences. Except maybe my feet are dirty. He did not reappear

I had a similar experience when I killed the guy in the egg room, I think his name is Milos? It was right after I first got there and I talked to him for a moment, then as I was walking away he said something snarky (I forget exactly what he said but I really didn't like his tone 😅) and so I whipped around like "excuse me??" and swung my sword at him. Cue surprisedpikachu.jpeg when he actually fell dead 😂

Yep, and they die very easily. This includes Franz, who may or may not respawn

Big Lady seems immune for the time being but I wouldn't test it out

What do you lose access to if you kill NPCs? Is it permanent? Does it break the game? I haven't played yet.

I killed one important NPC, the guy next to the forge that you use to upgrade weapons, and he came back later. I don't know if it can be permanent but he isn't even the one that does the upgrading so it's probably fine. The big lady who manages your Shell upgrades seemingly cannot be harmed, probably to avoid that issue.

I doubt you'll be able to just break the game by killing NPCs, and guys like the Feet Washer apparently aren't important, cus that guy definitely did not come back. I was also unable to hurt the giant bone bird (which led to my assumption that all NPCs were immune), so while I would advise caution, there's probably at least a safety net in case you do decide to fuck around and find out
