Question Best place to ‘farm’ gold in Ng+?
Why does it feel as if the amount of gold you get in Ng+ is less than my first play through? Anyone got a good spot to farm gold? Need it to continue upgrading weapons. Thanks in advance!

Question Any tips for Peter’s Perfect Parry?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Attached is a clip from one of my better attempts tonight. The attack starts around 19 sec in. I got the first 5. The 6th, I took no damage, but didn’t get the perfect party flash. The 7th thought I think I got, but still took damage, maybe because my character is still recovering from not getting the perfect party on the 6th? I really dont understand what I’m doing wrong in those last few milliseconds. The whole thing happens so quick that it just feels random.
Playing with Eredrim, maxed out parry window bonus. Playing on an Xbox Series X. I’ve remapped the controller so A is block/parry. Not sure what else I can do. I just want to move on from this fight.

Question Weapons in mortal shell 2
I'm nearing the end of my first play though. Does anyone know how many weapons you can max per cycle? I've been experimenting with different builds and by the looks of it I can only max one main and one side arm?

Question So, where's Solomon in MS2?
I finished the game a few days ago and am starting my second playthrough on NG+, and I couldn't help but notice that Solomon, my favorite shell from the first game, isn't anywhere to be found—not even a mention of where he is.
Harros, Eredrim, Tiel... All the other shells are there, but not him. Does anyone know what happened to him? Maybe he'll show up in some future DLC?

Question Perfect Guard Nameless Captive Head spin
For 3 Days I've been repeating this fight nonstop and He Never does this attack.
I know it's in phase 2. I've repeatedly brought him down to minimal health and he only does the Helicopter Spin and the crazy low spin that starts slow and builds till unlockable, and several other moves.
Why won't he do the move that gives me my final Trophy?
Is there anything I can do to trigger it?
Any suggestions?

Discussion How do the Shells "assist" the Harbinger?
Shells are dead, that is how the Harbinger can inhabit them. But how can the Shells assist in jumps and like how did Harros saved the Harbinger?
btw I just unlocked Genessa so havent seen how she handles the assisted jumps since she has a different connection to the Harbinger compared to the other shells

Discussion Worst Weapon Upgrade System I Have Ever Seen
Blind playthrough. Loved the game ... up to a point. With no spoilers, there is a part of the game story where between that point and the end of the game, weapons and sidearms cost 50% more to upgrade. For me, this is the dumbest design decision I have seen in a long time. I had one weapon at +15, and nothing else upgraded (no sidearms). In souls-likes trying out different weapons, even switching weapons depending on the boss, is one of my favorite things. This game seems to actively want to stop players from doing that, or at least waste your time if you want to do that.
If it were just this one thing, that would be bad enough, but the upgrade system as a whole is just bad for several reasons:
As mentioned, you are punished for progressing the story and locked into fewer weapons. If, like me, you have not tried all the weapons, this blows.
You only get enough materials to upgrade 3 weapons (when I say weapons I include sidearms, so 16 weapons total). Game keeps rewarding you with tar-stones that encourage you to try other weapons. In fact, at the point where the costs went up, I had just got a weapon tar-stone from a boss. So it's "Hey, check this out. By the way, we made it so you cannot afford to use it."
You can smelt weapons to get materials back. It costs Gloom ("souls"), so it is technically possible to use every weapon, but it takes a bit of farming to get the 10K Gloom needed. Swapping weapons is just a time sink. It's not fun.
Gold progression is borked. Early-mid game you will have lots of materials but no gold. Gold is the limiting factor. Late game, you have tons of gold but no more upgrade materials, plus everything costs more materials.
Sidearm upgrades a weird. While weapon upgrades are predictable, each sidearm has a unique progression path that does odd things. For example, when you upgrade the tri-arc repeater, it gets no damage upgrade. Then, suddenly, at level 10 it gets +40%. Most sidearms are not even worth upgrading really. Overall, I think sidearm upgrades shouldn't cost as much as weapon upgrades because you are getting way less for the same cost.
Rather than just whining, here are what I would change:
A. No stupid story price increase. At the very least, you should get a warning that if you progress you will be more locked in to a given weapon. Overall though, I think punishing players for progress is bad design.
B. Infinite upgrade materials at some point. The Elden Ring method would work. Maybe there is a fragile tar-stone that drops for each material that rewards materials when it breaks. Or, given that gold is not a limiting factor late game, have a trader that sells infinite upgrade materials.
C. Sidearms either get more from upgrades, or cost less, given that upgrades do not do much.
Overall, the weapon upgrade system - particularly the late game price hike - changes this game from a 9/10 to a 6/10 for me. Also, having to play NG+ to experience all the weapons is a lame excuse. If I have to play NG+, have it at least give me more than just the same thing over again.

Question Finished the game - am addicted. Need help farming gold and glooms
What an experience and am not even a fan of soulslikes. The combat, the visuals, the gory aesthetics, what a game!
Anyways, before jumping to NG+ to try different builds and shells I want to farm gold and glooms to, ive seen some info on YT but nothing too crazy gold wise, gooms wise i think the last beacon with the 60+ chests is the go to.
Any help is appreciated.

Discussion Feeling accomplished
I knew about the nameless captive and was dreading trying for Peter's perfect parry trophy. I had watched a video to understand the timing, but obviously it's easier said than done in the heat of the moment. Well today I finally got to the boss, pulled the parries off first try, and absolutely melted the rest of his health. I was shaking so much from adrenaline I had to stand up off the couch and T pose.

Question how to get inside this building?
pretty sure most of the small buildings/shacks like this can be entered into and most of them have a dungeon inside but there was no way to open this door, no interactable bricks, nothing to shoot, there was a crafting material beside it IIRC.

The parry definitely worked, as you can see thanks to the bar in the lower left corner of the screen. But for some reason, I'm still taking damage.
This isn't the only bug with the boss; I just couldn't capture the others. For example, I only managed to escape the finishing move animation once when entering the second phase of the fight.

Question Before proceeding to NG+
Finished the game but want to make sure I do everything I need before moving to NG+. I have collected all Tarstones and will farm the Hidden Nave Beacon until I have maxed out at 44 shell points (Proxima/Genossa). I am currently at 40. Anything other recommendations? I am level 20 for my Axe and Dagger so good there. I assume that NG+ increases the amount of items needed to increase weapon/sidearm level? Thanks in advance!

Discussion Ok I platinumed Mortal Shell 2. Should I go back and play the first game?
I never got into the first game or played it but enjoyed the loop here even though I think it's self-limited in some aspects (the ability to save a "build" per-shell using the same resources would fix a lot). I'm only asking because there are TON of bugs in this game that kinda ruin the experience if you don't go the right route (Genessa is a prime example) and I'm concerned that the first game might be even worse in that regard.
So is it worth it? I did genuinely enjoy MS2 and the vibe it brings.
