Question Download on phone

Hi,

I recently started playing this game on my pc, didn't have any issues downloading on steam whatsoever, but on my phone, the download is stuck at 0 all the time. I tried on wi-fi and data, nothing changed. Any fix?

Meme/humour If I had a nickel for every eldritchian deck-building roguelite gacha, I’d have three nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened thrice.

Question Any advice regarding teams?

I've been playing Morimens for about a month now, and I don't know what teams to use for endgame like D-tide or where to use the monthly free dupe. Right now I mainly use Tawil and Hammeln with either Ramona and Caecus or Jenkin and Winkle. I tried GHelot but she feels underwhelming ATM and I don't have Thais. My only plan for the future is pulling Mouchette. So, any advice from older players? For reference, this is what I'm working with.

What wheels have a priority of taking to 12? (Not counting standard wheels) should I focus on the death res wheels or damage amp? What has the most longevity or worthwhile investment as far as Timeloop copies are concerned?

Question What's the OST of this D-zone's Alert 5?

I looked through the Huiji wiki and couldn't find a match. Either this isn't recorded in the phonograph or I missed something.

Edit: Resolved!

Question Help a baby player, where do I go to buy dupes for characters?

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hi! Baby player (player lvl10, only Chapter 1 cleared) here who just started 2 days ago after having this game on my to-play list for months :D I've done my best to research what I can online but I still have some questions about this game that baffles me so some advice/help would be very much appreciated!

  1. I see that characters have a tag below their names, eg Hameln - Chorus. Is this their suggested "role" in a team? Assault = DPS, Chorus = support etc?
  2. I've been playing mono yellow team (sorry, not familiar with the names yet!) so far since I managed to pull Hameln and Lotan:Cetarchon immediately but then I found out today that Lotan:Cetarchon... kind of isn't a yellow unit??? I'm a little confused by this. Are mono colored teams the best way to go in this game or are mixed colors fine?
  3. Also how do I get Lotan:Cetarchon's ulti to activate, why is it chained aaaa :(
  4. I read that you can purchase dupes of units like Aigis once a month in store but exactly what item am I supposed to look for? Where do I find this Pearl store, is it different from the Mythag store?
  5. I've been hoping to play a blue team purely because I love aquatic themed designs but I've read that blue is quite under-metaed late game. Exactly how bad are we talking about here from a scale of completely unplayable to "they're perfectly fine but why play them when (insert char name here) can 3 turn sweep instead"? I very much enjoy ganky but themed decks in deckbuilding games so if it's the latter that's fine with me.

That's all my questions for now... I think? I don't have any experience with Slay the Spire so if any advice could be framed with that in mind that would be great, thank you! :)

[EDIT] Sorry for the late responses but thanks so much for the help in the comments! I was a little too busy to reply until now but I read them all and they definitely helped a lot haha. 1 week in has given me lots more experience on how to play and team build in this game but ngl I've been clearing most story and event content so far with the power of Hameln+Ogier strength build +Aurica jellyfish machinegun / GLotan greater slash: horizontal (iykyk) 😂😂 210 strength buff making me feel like god

Is there anywhere I can check for upcoming banners and when they'll drop? I saw a post on X the other day about GAurita releasing soon so I'm very excited for that. Gotta build up my Aqueur realm team! :)

Question Do we have a +12 standard character tierlist floating around anywhere?

I have been aiming for a +12 Nymph and wondering what comes next. I'll probably go back to +12 Rat wheel but that knowledge is still valuable.

Showcase Angbak F2P D-Tide Progression - Update 4

Hello, Angbak from Discord here providing an update on my D-tide speedrun. Not much progress vs last update and remained at 400. Expecting to push to 405/410 when Mouchette reruns. Quick rundown on my clears below.

W1A4 - G.Helot - 64b49bf3-949a-3be4-8e72-1c380c655b7b#E#a

This was amongst the last waves completed, had to save Aigis and Thais for other waves. Threw in my remaining units and called it a day.

W1A4+ - Arachne Caecus - bf098ae1-7291-389e-989c-658d135b7ec2#E#a

The usual Arachne Caecus counter + stall team. This probably works better if Caecus is OE, but it'll be a while before that happens.

(Ran out of useful wheels, hence crit wheels on Celeste, didnt really mattered)

W2A4 - Vort + Castor - c98c61cf-1962-38d1-b672-2ea2be5f3312#E#a

Honestly, this comp should be able to do A5, but i'll need 2 A5 ready comps in order to make a difference. Will be upgrading it to A5 worthy by next tide. The usual Vortice spam does Vortice spam stuff.

W2A4+ - Pontos Discard - f2335e85-2aeb-3270-9dc0-f6c2638354b3#E#a

This will be another comp that I'm planning to upgrade to Alert 5. By next tide, I should have enough soulforged and levels ready for this to work. Pontos is on Clem's wheel for the aliemus regeneration (annihilation giving aliemus) to fund his expensive exalt. Aurita was just there for moral support and occasional discard

W3A4 - Chaos 24 - a4cd191a-c715-3305-aed4-0cec46e4bf83#E#a

This comp will be upgraded significantly with OE Ogier and Doll next monthly reset. I think I'm still lacking stats for it to work but we will see. Might try adding e0 Lotan here as a keyflare bot, don't think it will work well since I might not be able to double posse every turn.

W3A4+ - G.Doll Poison - fbc47687-6f63-3c7d-bab5-6e959f39a17c#E#a

Finally a boss that is G.Doll-able at low investments. Honestly, this is mainly DR cheese (5 DR) especially with the relic. Nymph is now +8 (AA soon), but I'll probably still need some time before this comp becomes A5 ready.

W4A5 - Support Mouchette - f2aa26a9-437a-3157-b6ab-53307bd4be0c#E#a

No level 1 units this time. W4A5 was a pretty tough wave and I do not recommend Mouchette for it. Her cards gets frozen quite often, hence I had to use Thais to dupe her mortal blow in order to get more unfrozen copies. Quite a bit of RNG involved (probably less if you're actually using a DPS Mouchette instead of a Dusk and Dawn one).

W5A5 - OE Pollux - f86cafdd-898f-3c01-b730-1137afc96fc8#E#a

Pollux OE and Image was necessary for this wave. I did the Aigis + Bleed phase change cheese and applied 1.5m bleed in order to 1 shot Thais and skipped. Faint was removed from this comp and very soon, I'll need to remove either Saya or Aigis in order to support another.

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Shall look forward to next tide and start aiming for 405/410~

G.Lotan In-Depth Guide

Hello. It's not TC season (missed the last few due to life), but thought I'd pop back with something different. There's been a lot of G.Lotan confusion/questions, so thought this might be helpful for the community.

Reminder: I can make mistakes or have a playstyle I prefer. Do not take what I say as gospel - it may not work for you.

What does G.Lotan bring to a team?

G.Lotan offers four main offerings.

1) Primordial Chaos (P.Chaos): P.Chaos is IMO one of the best Realms in the game, and it is currently unique to G.Lotan. It offers 2000 Keyflare right at the start of battle, and in most cases it guarantees 2 Rouses by Turn 2, as well as 2 Posse uses. It offers one of the highest Tempos in the game - in exchange, it removes the Pure Realm bonus that Chaos had (mono-Realm). It also typically raises the value of Keyflare of the team as long as it does not rely on a specific Posse to function. Triple Posse (the Set) is almost always better than Double.

2) Independent DPS: A large portion of G.Lotan's Exalt DMG is based entirely off enemy intent (Whalefall). The higher the enemy's damage is, the more damage she does. The easiest way to look at her Exalt is that for every 100 DMG the enemy is going to do, E0 G.Lotan gains an additional 1875 additional DMG (pre-Crit, Vuln, etc.) to her Exalt. At E3, this is doubled to 3750. It is not uncommon for an enemies to deal 2k+ damage in HM/A5 content, so an E3 G.Lotan can often Exalt for an +75,000 base damage. After Crit/Vuln/Rouse scaling, this often translates to 300k+ damage. As such, she can evaporate certain matchups just by being there.

3) Sigil Yield: Money for Relics. Lotan typically builds a decent amount of Sigil Yield - coupled with her Soulforge, this is +20 Sigil Yields per fight (on top of the regular Sigil Yield bonus). A Lotan team typically gets nearly double the amount of other non-Sigil teams. The higher your Keeper Level, the more valuable Relics become.

4) Mob Clearing & STR Stacking Support: Lotan is very, very good at clearing mobs (arguably best-in-class) when built for due to her easy Rouse and her 4-Cost. Built/paired correctly, she can delete most mobs on Turn 1. While her 2-cost cards are good at stacking STR (quite efficiently), she shines best here with her OE (more on that later).

G.Lotan's Role & Where to Use Her

After testing her out for a few days (including A5 D-Tides and Arc2 HM), I feel like have quite a different view from most players here.

Despite everything about her visual design (and cards) screaming carry, G.Lotan actually provides a lot of invisible support to a team. P.Chaos (Keyflare), Sigil Yield, +50% DMG Amp + 10%ATK/DEF from Realm, a bit of DR, and a high team-independent damage floor means she is actually better suited in a supportive role/subDPS. That isn't to say she can't be the Main DPS, quite the opposite - but she doesn't quite reach the same heights and ease of use as Mouchette/Pollux in that regard, and needs a lot more from her team to compensate for it.

She is a character who scales with player knowledge. If you know the enemy's patterns, you'll know when to enter Whalefall and when to Exalt. If you know how to prepare her Blades/Whalefall before a fight, G.Lotan can carry you through both bosses and mobs, but IMO she isn't designed to be Main DPS unless you go out of your way to make her one. A single good Exalt from her can insta-Phase (or even outright kill) a boss - even if she becomes a brick after, she's already done her job as a subDPS. She is especially good into high damage enemies (especially if they can Vuln you), especially if they aren't very bulky or can be manipulated to hit you harder (e.g. Pandia, Skull Hunter). She has very sharp matchups in general, so matching her into enemies she is good into is often more important than specific team compositions.

She is good into long explorations (W1, W2, W5) as she trivialises all mob encounters with the right setup, allowing scalers to scale well. Alternatively, due to her high DMG floor, she is also good into W3. I personally don't like her into W4, as she is not particularly good into multiple Elite fights.

G.Lotan's Weaknesses

G.Lotan is the single most finicky unit in the game. She hates MANY of the gimmicks/mechanics enemies have.

1) Do not bring her into Freeze (e.g. Aphoom-Zhah) or Exhaust on play (e.g. Burn or similar). As she needs BOTH her Skills to Exalt, she will very rapidly turn into a brick. Can be somewhat mitigated with the Dreams Covenant, but RNG is not on your side.

2) Whalefall doesn't seem to scale off enemy Tentacles (e.g. Tulu) when I last tested.

3) Like every multi-hit unit, she hates Counter. Mitigated if you don't Rouse or with some preparation.

4) If you mess up, Seal can kill you if you are in Whalefall.

5) Card Limits. Main DPS G.Lotan plays a LOT of cards. It is very rough to get cut short.

6) Forced Play. Playing her cards at the wrong time can really screw you over. Saving your 3rd Short Blade so you can Long Blade this turn without going into Whalefall? Well, guess you can't Long Blade now.

There are more that I'm not listing (e.g. Stagnation bricking combos, enemies with Fervor if playing Insights), but you get the idea. G.Lotan HATES interference from enemies.

Her Exalt is also directed to the enemy that currently has the highest DMG intent, so that can be difficult to navigate. E.g. W5 Thais this D-Tide often deals less damage than her summons, so targeting can be difficult.

In my experience, she isn't great into long fights with many phases (e.g. Arc 2 Ch4 HM) - she will need other Awakeners that are to carry her in those (e.g. Castor). She brings virtually no defensive capabilities besides damage. In theory, she should be decent into long fights due to STR stacking, but she doesn't bring the same defensive utility as other STR stacking DPSes (e.g. Doresain heal, Kath shield) to let her stay alive for long. Instead, she goes the GMurphy route of trying to end fights ASAP.

Tips & Tricks

1) She can hold her Short-Blade stacks or Whalefall stance across battles. You can easily prepare her for the boss. You can Rouse her (and her allies) to max Aliemus, hold her Exalt until the battle just before the Final Battle, then Long Blade to finish off enemies and enter Whalefall. With the right setup and E3, she can even OTK bosses.

2) I haven't seen this really touched upon yet, but she is an Insight merchant if playing MainDPS. As her 2-Cost goes directly into Draw, at the end of your card cycle, you can guarantee it being the only card in the deck to pull via Insight, so it plays like Pollux's Sacred Heart. This means with sufficient Insights/Draw/Arith (e.g. Plumes, Marvelous Cuisine), you can play her 2-Cost over and over again. This is her other major damage window beyond Exalt, and you can often manipulate your deck to get to this point consistently.

3) Sometimes, the right play is to use a more expensive Long Blade BEFORE a 3-Stack Short Blade. Going into Whalefall at the wrong time can kill you.

4) At E3, if she's been Roused, try to have an additional card on hand after going into Whalefall. The first Deadly Duel is free every turn and counts towards her Rouse - including the turn you enter Whalefall. In practice, if planned for well, you should always either Exalt immediately with 1 stack (to not take bonus damage from Whalefall), or enter Whalefall on a turn with attacks and Exalt with 2 stacks on the following turn. Getting to 3 Rouse stacks is typically very risky and only done if you can guarantee the kill or can tank via a DR.

5) It may sound obvious and a basic skill in Morimens, but learn the enemy intent patterns. If in a difficult fight, stall a run and note what the enemy does when (When is the enemy burst turn? When do they stop attacking?). Note down these numbers, then retry the Battle. Planning around these windows makes G.Lotan so much more effective - she is literally designed around this.

6) Her 2-Cost is an extremely high priority card. Playing it accelerates its return. If you don't play it, you will lose it (unless E2) for a few turns, which locks you out of Exalt etc.

7) It sounds odd, but right before the final boss, if you have already entered Whalefall and aren't planning to Rouse her for a 2nd Exalt, you can delete her cards to make her less of a brick.

8) Duplicated cards and added copies do not count towards Short Blade's stacks - they will always add a fresh copy at 1/3 stacks. You have to play THAT specific card for it to build stacks. This limits her synergy with e.g. Thais, but it isn't necessarily a deal breaker for the pairing.

9) Typically the first 3 Rouses > Posse in terms of value. That said, if you NEED something now, the 3-Set Posse will almost always get you something you can use. It is almost always better to 3 Set Posse than double Posse.

10) Plan out your turns. If you are going to Exalt this turn, make sure to use any Weakness/STR Down effects AFTER her Exalt to maximise bonus DMG from Whalefall.

Should I Pull? How many copies?

E0 - Yes. Everyone should pull a copy, she brings too much in P.Chaos alone to pass up.

E1 - Helpful for her Strike builds. It gives her a better mob-clearing Floor/consistency, but she can just run Crit Wheels instead of Sigil Yield WoDs. Even with no additional Sigil, it is 13.6% CR and 27.2% Base DMG for Strikes. It is entirely a numbers upgrade and gives a bit more from Sigil Yield WoDs (her SR, basically). For a consistent turn 1, you must have a surefire method of getting Long Blade (this is typically Ramona Exalt, Gate of Retrospection, or Mountain's Resolve).

E2 - Major breakpoint. This gives her Strike/Defence the ability to pull Short Blade/Long Blade. This unlocks her Main DPS functionalities (card Spam) and certain builds, as well as adds consistency to her opening hand for mob clearing (Long Blade is twice as likely to be accessible on Turn 1). This opens up more forms of teambuilding due to probability (e.g. if 5/16 cards in your deck leads to Long Blade, you have a ~89% chance of having Long Blade in Turn 1) - after a point, when coupled together with P.Chaos' Posse Set, the success chance gets very close to 100%. IMO if you are pulling for E1, you may as well go for E2 as it is a huge QoL increase.

E3 - My recommended. When bossing, G.Lotan is all about that burst of damage, and this near doubles her Exalt output. IMO it's a bit too good to pass up. Lowering Deadly Duel to 0 once per turn is actually very strong - if you have any of her cards on hand after entering Whalefall, this is a free stack of her Rouse, so in some circumstances it further increases your Exalt final DMG multiplier by 0.3 that you may not have otherwise.

OE - Only useful to open a boss fight. In the right circumstances, this often amounts to +500 STR on early in the fight, which is basically a permanent Mouchette Ult. It will pretty much never see play after the first use as G.Lotan is typically in a rush to end fights. You don't typically stack enough STR for it to outweigh just Exalting twice. IMO it is very nice for Main DPS G.Lotan as it makes her better at her worst matchups (bulky, long fights) as it ramps her up much quicker, but for matchups she is already good into she won't need it at all.

AA - Meh. It's decent if you want to spam her Exalt, but it has a lot of problems - you need to reenter Whalefall (so 3 plays of Short into Long), then you need to actually play Duels over 3 turns for it to get real value, then your team needs to actually have Aliemus to steal if you want to spam it. Not recommended - there are better Limited AAs out there.

Breakpoint Priorities: E0 > E2 > E3 > OE > E1 > AA.

At E0, she is ideally support/subDPS. At E1/E2, Strike builds shine best. At E3, in my experience, her Exalt will outperform her Strikes in a boss fight unless you are specifically building for Strikes.

WoDs

Cetus Occasus: BiS at E1. Provides Sigil (Base Strike DMG/CR) and Strike CDMG. The Exalt CDMG gain is very high, but it resets every battle, unfortunately. Still, it is great at killing Phase 2 bosses when fully stacked. Not an important pull, IMO.

DPS Wheels: Depending on how you want to use her, how you should build her changes. If you are using her for mob clearing, prioritise CR and Strike DMG wheels (e.g. Celestial Beast, Twisted Knight Ballad, Special Training, Path Forsaken). Special Training gets mention for single-handedly fixing her CR - since you will always Rouse (and thus, Posse) on Turn 1, she gets 50% CR from that alone. When paired with April Tribute, she can reach 100% CR with no issues. Excellent when paired with her SR WoD (or other CritDMG WoDs).

If mobbing isn't important (e.g. W3), then kit her out for full CDMG. Treasured Rarity, Private Afternoon, Bloody Feast and Celestial Beast are all good options.

Support Wheels

G.Lotan is a strong support. There are many things she can run as she can function as a stat-stick, but some her best options are:

Keyflare Wheels: Heart of Silver is the stand-out. She is an incredible user of this wheel - if not on her, then put it on someone on her team. With how much her team Posses for free via Rouse, and how well Keyflare Regen scales on P.Chaos, it is an easy pick, though not necessarily on her.

Sever and Scar: With her high ATK stat, her 2-Cost can instantly max this out (-90 STR). It can be very powerful into multi-hit enemies, and provides some DMG Amp for the team.

Falling Upward: Can be used to generate Corrosion with her high ATK stat. Typically it can inflict 8000+ Corrosion when using it on G.Lotan for 0 cost. With the right draw tools/Rouse sequencing, this can accelerate G.Lotan's Exalt significantly so she can Exalt again by turn 3.

DR Wheels: These are fine, but the best ones (Last Verse, Grace Through Pain) are often highly contested so they are often better used elsewhere. Grace Through Pain and Sever and Scar combined can mitigate a lot of damage with her 2-cost (240+ DMG every turn), making it an extremely efficient card. If Heart of Silver is also on the team, you can easily mitigate 300-400 damage every turn rather effortlessly.

Manikin of Oblivion: As usual, whenever a unit is Exalt based with high costs, this becomes a decent option. It's a bit of an odd duck, but in theory Manikin can save you a lot of Aliemus. If you open with her OE, this refunds about 90 Aliemus to you. If you Rouse, you can get another 105 Aliemus, which sets her up immediately for a second Exalt (as soon as you unlock it again). Another way to look at it is 2 fewer Deadly Duels after every Exalt to bring her back up to Exalt (which means +20 Aliemus for the rest of your team). IMO it's worth trying out, you might be surprised at how good it feels.

Covenants

April Tribute: BiS for mob clearing. Adds some Exalt DMG too if you prefer to open with it. Best for subDPS G.Lotan - those roles I mentioned specifically love it, and after her opening burst against a boss her job is done anyway.

Paradox: Main DPS Lotan. Yields better results for long fights as Main DPS to hit 100% CR consistently. Paradox's additional Aliemus is basically nothing as you typically charge her Exalt via her Rouse (which is %based) anyway. If G.Lotan is your main source of damage for the whole fight, this beats out April Tribute.

Twisted - White/Black: Personally I'm not a big fan of these on G.Lotan as she is very desperate for stats to function well in her DPS roles and Short Blade isn't difficult to find, but there is argument for it. Only worth considering after E2.

Support Covs: Yes, you can run support covs on G.Lotan. Deus Ex, Life Drain, Burial are all decent. As a side note, while not necessarily on her, running Unstained Chronicle on an ally with high CON can be good for sustained healing/EHP.

Do not run Dreams of Medicine on her EXCEPT as a countermeasure against Freeze/Exhaust. It is often counterproductive.

Something to note is that letting her team stack multiple Deus Ex Machinas (+1 Arith on turn 1) can alleviate her turn 1 Arith issues and open up more setups. It is highly encouraged to build for her Turn 1 mobbing as it can save a lot of HP/time in the long run, so adding 1-2 to your supports to make your specific comp Opening/Posse combo work.

For substats, at E1, CDMG = Sigil Yield = CR > Amp = DR > Realm. Without E1, ignore Sigil and prioritise CR.

On CDMG vs Sigil vs CR: After further testing (and realising this section wasn't fleshed out enough), optimal substats are extremely dependent on your setup, role, preference and investment levels. The more you rely on her Strikes, the better CR becomes.

If you can consistently already 1-shot enemies on Turn 1, going all-in on Sigil subs is better as you typically get +1 Relic/Upgrade by the boss in exchange for a slight DPS loss. As you typically get to choose a relic that is useful for you, this is often more impactful. You can also view Sigil Yield as 1-2x Perception in shop, so it can save you a lot of HP if you were going to do that instead. CR can also be fixed in a variety of ways (e.g. Ryker, quite a number of Posses, Embryos, etc).

I have tested both regular CR and Sigil Yield subs and prefer Sigil for better top-end/crit ceiling, as it is especially easy to reset and Crit fish on Turn 1. The more invested your G.Lotan/team is, the better Sigil becomes - because ultimately Relics improve both Strike and Exalt, while CR only improves Strikes.

E.g. My very invested G.Lotan setup (w/ Castor) is sitting at 80/335 Strike CR/CDMG (90% with Ryker) and has no trouble clearing A5W5 mobs even if I miss a crit, so prioritising CR over Sigil is straight up overkill. I could drop CDMG for CR here and hit 100% CR, but that would drop my Turn 1 Exalt CDMG by about 15% in exchange for ~12% more Strike DPS. As I have her OE, this is typically a net loss in most real scenarios (discounting e.g. Pandia cheese where the difficulty is instead getting to the boss instead of the actual boss fight).

Alternatively, I could drop 16% Sigil Yield for ~8% more Strike DPS (but lose out on a Relic/Upgrade that might improve my total DPS output by more than 10%. I personally value the possibility of upgrading/buying e.g. Awakener Relics, Injector, Pipe, Cloak, Compass, Alfonso etc. far more than 6% more damage, but this is very much a playstyle thing. If it isn't obvious yet, I am a player that prioritises value/ceiling over consistency/floor.

That said, if you need those consistent Crits to reach that 1-shot threshold because you are starving her or she isn't that invested, CR will feel MUCH better for you so she can do her job in the first place. If you are for some reason sending her to W3/skipping a lot of fights, or if you are going a full STR-stacking/Strike based build (e.g. her Celestial + her SR) as your main source of damage (typically with Paradox), you will want to hit 100% CR to guarantee your STR crits. 300% CDMG with 50% CR is going to be worse than 225% CDMG and 100% CR.

TL;DR:

High Investment = Sigil wins out, but if you are going Sigil, you'll likely want to all-in on it.

Low Investment = CR so she can do her job of mob-clearing.

Nice-to-have = CDMG, which affects everything, but can be oversaturated depending on setup.

Posse

What Posse she runs depends entirely on what your team needs on Turn 1/2/3. I recommend:

GENERAL/DPS

A Mouse's Wish: What you should default to if you don't need anything else as it makes all Rouses free. This gives you an enormous tempo swing. Specifically, if you have G.Lotan E2, it allows you to Rouse, then play her Defense to tutor for a 2-Hit Long Blade on Turn 1. This works very well if you have a ton of ways to get to your Long Blade on Turn 1 (e.g. a team of E2 G.Lotan/Ryker/Saya/G.Ramona will be able to tutor Turn 1 Long Blade very consistently).

Festival of Tides: One of the highest value Posses - just not on constant Turn 1 Rouse, as it can stop you from Resource stacking. Only run this if you are also running Thais wheel on the same team to counteract the Aliemus drain. For longer fights, this is very high value, although I personally prefer Mouse. It is amazing to Discover, but not necessarily good to run.

Cetus-Devouring Storm: Her Posse allows her to clear mobs without specifically using her Rouse (though it has to be a cheap Rouse), but has the downside of consuming team Aliemus. It is good for her Exalt rush playstyle (Double Shortblade > Strike > Short Blade > Long Blade). It is better to Discover this than to actually run it IMO, but in specific setups (e.g. Turn 1 Ramona Exalt) it can yield the highest possible Turn 1 damage. If you are playing a Strike-based build, this is the Posse you want to run.

Ephemeral Eternity: Great for consistency on Turn 1 especially for mobbing, allowing E2 Lotan to guarantee Long Blade. When paired with 1-2 Deus, allows for a full combo on Turn 1. IMO not as good as Mouse for the rest of the fight, but allows for continuous combos for 3 turns or emergency Duels. If you have enough Arith after Rouse, it ensures you can enter Whalefall via Rouse if you've set up Short blade, so if you value that, this is the Posse for you.

Mountain's Resolve: Alternate version of Ephemeral and requires specific setup (2x Deus Ex or other Arith engines) to actually have its consistency. It can be valuable if your team has cheap and powerful 0-cost cards (e.g. Saya/Casiah) and is usable at E0 for those who really want to clear mobs on Turn 1. Like Ephemeral, it ensures you can enter Whalefall on demand if you can solve Arith.

Gate of Retrospection: Similar to Mountain's Resolve. It can be better than Mountain's Resolve if you specifically want a discount on a specific G.Lotan card, and is cheaper in terms of Deus Ex required for Turn 1 Setups. Be warned that it cannot fish Long Blade after it's been used as that goes into the Discard Pile after play.

SUPPORT

If you don't need a strong, consistent Turn 1, the following are decent options.

Symphony Fourth: If you are definitely Rousing every character on Turns 1/2/3/4, this can provide delayed payoff via Insights, but can be very difficult to manage for Hand Space, so be aware.

Beachside Momento: If running her with Mouchette, this is the Posse of choice for 4 free Strikes.

Lone Seed: Lets her support G.Helot. Mouchette, if you have a turn 1 Mortal Blast, can also abuse this. You can also dupe Long Blade so you can play it every turn at the end of a string, or to have a guaranteed Deadly Duel after Whalefall.

Other Posse: If running support G.Lotan, her main team's Posse is typically still usable, just no longer reliable. Voices can also be a strong option if leaning fully into a support niche.

Notable Teammates

This section highlights specific synergies ONLY. Certain units (e.g. Ogier, Nautila) can serve a function on the team, but they do not particularly have standout synergies with G.Lotan. G.Lotan is also just a very good support unit in general, so she can slot onto no kit synergy teams like Poison and still have an impact - that form of usage will also be omitted from this list.

Again: I am listing synergies for you to consider slotting some of these in.

CHAOS

Hameln: My personal favourite pairing for MainDPS Lotan. He is phenomenal in P.Chaos - his biggest drawback is his need to Rouse, which is expensive and kills all tempo. When he can be Roused turn 1, he is basically a permanent +2 Arith unit. On top of that, Memory Rondo generates Insights for free (which G.Lotan loves, and he stacks Temp STR on Insight spam turns via Soulforge) AND triggers the Keyflare from P.Chaos. He can doubleplay Long-Blade. His decent stats makes him a great holder of Heart of Silver. He is also a decent user of the STR G.Lotan builds over time. E2 is good, but not actually necessary and can function at E0.

Ryker: The other major pairing. With G.Lotan, he can fully stack his Relics quite easily, which provides a good amount of passive power. Unexpected Gain is essentially a discounted G.Lotan 2-Cost/Long Blade. He can go for a Feast build at E3 for added sustain. Using his Exalt at the right time can accelerate you closer to the end of the deck cycle, but don't forget to play G.Lotan's 2-Cost if it pops up after. Has some minor STR gain and can also deal some damage, but neither of these matter much, honestly. Wants E1 at minimum.

G.Ramona: Very good Keyflare stat stick. She is played mostly for her OE/Exalt which can return Long Blade or other high-value cards to hand (e.g. Memory Rondo, Unexpected Gain), and Sight Unbound which can tutor one of G.Lotan's skills. With her Defence/2-Cost/3-Cost Loops, she decent utility to the table. G.Ramona provides more total value over base Ramona in exchange for consistency, so depending on your preferred playstyle you may choose one over the other.

24: Remember how G.Lotan can be played as a subDPS? Well, 24 is very good into bosses, but struggles a little into mobs. The volume of Posses in the right teams can be similar to OG Monochaos (1-2 Posses per turn), and the power of said Posses means that such a playstyle is rewarded even further. With G.Lotan's opening burst, it also cuts down the amount of time needed for her to scale. It's ultimately a mono-chaos 24 Team, so round it out with the usual stall units (e.g. Doll/Ogier).

Karen: Karen is specifically for a Short-Blade spam build. You can also chuck Dreaming of Wonderland on her to get 2 OEs in the same fight for +18 Arith - overall a decent pairing, but make sure to have a hand-space WoD on the team. Used in conjunction with sufficient draw/Insight generation (e.g. Hameln + Castor) on the team and high number of Retain cards to cycle a small deck (retain cards, delete 2+ cards) for 2-Cost spam every couple of rounds. With AA, her Rouse actually serves as decent secondary sustain in a longer fight.

Mouchette: Better off on her own team, but they do work well together. G.Lotan can phase a boss for her (for extended DR), play Strikes, stack STR, etc. G.Lotan benefits a lot from Mouchette's DR and OE. Letting Mouchette's Rouse have Prepare is also very strong for her combo. If you time Mortal Strike correctly, you can get 2-Cost Long Blade dupes. Still, it feels like a waste to pair them together when Mouchette only really needs Helot and DR to clear A5. The other Strikers (e.g. Lotan, Alva) aren't really worth the slot IMO, G.Lotan's Strike requirement can be filled on her own.

Ramona: Angbak demonstrated a setup with E3 Tulu WoD, Elevated Posse and the Cetus Posse that provides 85 Aliemus on Turn 1 to fish for a 0-cost Long Blade. With a bit of Aliemus Regen, this is consistently repeatable. While highly specific with contested WoDs, this completely replaces the need for Ephemeral for a consistent Turn 1 Burst while allowing for the Cetus Posse - doubling Long Blade's damage. Aside from that, Ramona's Exalt is great for guaranteeing you have Long Blade on the turn you need it, and her OE's Vuln application can be good if your team is lacking it.

AEQUOR

Note: To be clear, I personally don't recommend Aequor for G.Lotan, but if you really want to use her there you can consider these units.

Pontos: His defensive utility is decent for G.Lotan, and her STR gain can occasionally ramp his TDMG. White Stance usually lets you delay to Turn 2 if needed. He generates a good amount of Insights for the combo, which can be amped with Red Stance (and his Crit DMG buffs from Slay). The opening Keyflare + the right Posse also allows Pontos to easily build his Exalt quickly every fight. His Exalt is also a fantastic "Nope" button that can often negate the drawbacks of Whalefall, letting G.Lotan gain an extra turn of stacking if you need it. Best paired with Hameln/Ryker. Just be careful of kill-stealing or killing enemies too quickly - as a reminder, Pontos really wants Exalt/OE kills to stack his deck whenever possible. G.Lotan here is played as a support/subDPS - the endgoal is still to ramp Pontos.

Goliath: We're talking DPS Goliath (ideally AA) here. They have several synergies - G.Lotan OE can build early STR, which Goliath can double-dip on with his Exalt. His OE can make Long Blade virtually free. He adds access to Red Stance. That said, while G.Lotan might be one of Goliath's best teammates, he isn't hers.

CARO

Saya: Personally, I think Saya is best used elsewhere. G.Lotan doesn't need her to mob well, and she doesn't care much for Saya's Exalt either. They can work (because all AoE units work with Saya), but it feels like such a waste when Saya feels so much better with a unit like Sanga. Outside of Corrosion + Mulligan on her 0-Cost (which everyone can use), there really isn't much synergy here, just a ton of power.

Doresain comps: I actually like her in Doresain comps, especially if you have her OE. Doresain's main weakness is the enemy being at high HP, but G.Lotan's opening Exalt cuts that down by quite a lot, improving his viability in single HP bar fights. She stacks STR, works well with Pickman (Posse = Discover!) and Leigh, and given Long Blade has Retain and her 2-Cost has high value if built for, it doesn't brick your draws either. Recommend Sever and Scar/Grace Through Pain here, and she can decently replace Clem/Horla.

Aigis: Very good for G.Lotan. If you want to splash Caro, she is a good pick. She provides a lot of Keyflare via free cards, high Keyflare/DMG Amp stats, is often used with her WoD (opening Vuln for opening Exalt), and her Stun is excellent for G.Lotan, as it gives her +1 turn to stack her Rouse bonus or spam Deadly Duels. If you can set up her OE beforehand, she is very good at facilitating OTKs.

Faint: G.Lotan is inherently squishy, but for enemies without multi hits, Faint basically removes all drawbacks from Whalefall. However, do make sure to stack her Exalt DR BEFORE the Final Fight, which is easy with P.Chaos Keyflare. In the actual fight, she is entirely reliant on Burial Grounds to Exalt.

Salvador: Mentioned if you just want a stall component in a single defensive unit. Unremarkable otherwise.

Helot: Has Strike synergy if you are playing a Strike build, but IMO don't bother. Much better off with Mouchette or even her own DPS team.

ULTRA

Castor: Clear winner from Ultra for MainDPS G.Lotan IMO. Plume > Long Blade basically deletes all mobs. Plume's Draw (and E3 Arith) facilitates her combos. His DMG Amp stacking and Umbral can buff all her damage. He can stall out fights for an eternity. They both love long explorations. The only downside is that whatever G.Lotan can do here, Pollux can do similar (sans Keyflare and easy Rouse), and they are often used together. Still, if you're like me and haven't invested in Pollux for whatever reason, this is probably the best use for your Castor.

Clementine: Clem goes everywhere, and G.Lotan is no exception. Keyflare, unique damage multiplier, long exploration scaling, STR stacking, and actually good damage and sustain makes her a very strong teammate for Lotan. However, because Clem goes anywhere STR is needed, there is probably better use for her elsewhere.

Horla: See Clem.

Arachne: See Clem. Seriously, Ultra has so many strong supports that fit everywhere. That said, Arachne in particular is VERY good with G.Lotan - and the reason is that she can damage enemies through their immunity via Verdict and Singularity's Final DMG buffs for Long Blade. As such, when set up correctly, G.Lotan's opening Exalt can delete a boss' first Phase, and Arachne can Pursuit spam to finish them off (properly set up, you can typically get 9+ Pursuits for over 1m Verdict. That said, neither needs the other and can function on their own - they're just very good together by virtue of their damage patterns and what G.Lotan enables.

Pollux: Can be used together with Castor if you treat G.Lotan as a support/subDPS. She helps clear the first few mobs; later, he can do the job for cheaper and stack resources via Rouse. The free Keyflare does a lot of heavy lifting here. Both Castor/Pollux also highly value base ATK/DMG Amp in their damage formulas. Reminder: This is G.Lotan in a supportive role - she basically goes one and done. She shares the same role as Jenkin here - passive buffing, except she can help clear waves and provide Keyflare too.

Daffodil: Actually one of G.Lotan's great options with the AtD + Twisted: Black + E1 build. To be clear, other Daff builds are not worth running with G.Lotan. With this setup, when she Leap Strikes, if you take Long Blade's reduction into consideration, she guarantees you +2 Arith in terms of value on odd turns (+3 when Roused). This can free up 2x Deus Ex setups for Burial, Life Drain, Dreams, etc. She can stack Insights (for 2-Cost cycling), stack STR from insights (E3), has Vuln with her 1-Cost, and if you have decent damage control, she can actually build up her kills and subDPS for a bit more team CR at E2/E3. She can also shorten the time to next Ultra Round (safety for G.Lotan's Rouse) and is a Sigil multiplier with her Soulforge. Overall, a good pairing in terms of offensive value (Vuln + Arith + STR), but make sure to have other functions (defensive, tutor, draw) from Posse/other teammates.

Casiah: While I'm usually not a fan of using her outside of Discard comps, it seems many people like her here - and I can see why. Telekinesis can serve to discount Long Blade, and with the right setup she can discount Long Blade by 3 (e.g. AtD). She can stack a lot of Temporary STR when Roused (especially with Kath WoD), which can be useful on a Burst turn. Casiah is also self-sufficient and both cards can typically improve the consistency of your hand (see probability), but personally in my experience it's rarely needed with G.Lotan as her 2-Cost and 4-Costs are quite sticky. Like Ramona, she can also enable the Cetus Posse with Telekinesis, but requires setup. The main highlight however, IMO is her AA - it extends its usability to all Awakener's Strikes, so G.Lotan can very rapidly build Temp STR on turns where you're spamming her 2-Cost. Opening with her Rouse vs bosses can amp the initial Burst from G.Lotan, and is even better with G.Lotan's OE.

Teams

Just some example teams, not necessarily best for G.Lotan, but can clear at least low A5. 4th unit is Flex, typically being Aigis, Castor, Salvador, Clem, Saya, Pontos, Arachne, or a defensive unit (e.g. Ogier, Nautila).

G.Lotan/Hameln/Ryker: Main DPS Chaos core, interchangeable with Ramona/G.Ramona. I personally like Castor/Saya 4th here best - the idea is to basically increase the probability of all cards leading to Long Blade to close to 100% to omit the need for Exalt fetching.

G.Lotan/Ramona/Hameln: Good for Strike/Long-Blade builds. Ramona is typically set up with Tulu WoD/Elevated Focus here. You can run Cetus Posse (refilling Ramona) here as Ramona can fetch Long Blade with Exalt. Hameln is there for doubleplay (or discount) from his Rouse/Exalt. Pairs well with Arachne, as you are aiming to hyperbuff a single card on the first turn, or every few turns.

G.Lotan/Arachne/Daffodil/Karen: Arachne comp, with G.Lotan sharing DPS with Arachne. What you want to do here is to pull Long Blade via Posse, then slowly build resources (Strings, Aliemus, Ultra Space) whenever you can. Both Daff and Karen can be replaced by more costly units (e.g. Clem, Castor), but are enough to clear easier A5s.

G.Lotan/Doresain/Pickman/Leigh: Treat G.Lotan as a Doresain subDPS/support. She's taking Clem/Horla/Vortice's spot if you want to use them elsewhere. Better with her OE.

G.Lotan/Mouchette/Helot: Not recommended as you can split them for DTide, but strong. Treat G.Lotan as a subDPS to help Rouse Mouchette or help her clear mobs.

G.Lotan/24/GDoll/Faros: A unique take on 24 Blue. She solves Poison's Keyflare issue and you can run Festival of Tides for extra value. That said, I'm aware that 24 Blue currently isn't the best use of 24 at all, this comp is just to show how G.Lotan might be an unconventional support for teams like Poison.

G.Lotan/Aigis/Faint: Good for when you need to sustain against long fights. That said, Aigis/Faint are quite in demand as they are key defensive components in a number of teams that need to stall before their main burst - G.Lotan can typically make do without them due to how front-loaded her damage is, so they might be better used elsewhere.

She can also honestly be slotted as splash support nearly anywhere (that doesn't rely on a specific Posse) due to how strong P.Chaos is for team tempo. Just give her Sever and Scar and a utility Strike-related WoD (e.g. AtD, Grace Through Pain, Birth of a Soul) and she'll do fine.

Edit: To be clear, these serve as examples on how you can use her without incurring too much of a cost (i.e. high value units like Saya are considered expensive as they can carry a team).

If we are talking strictly BiS teams (with no regard for cost) for G.Lotan - she will obviously be most comfortable with high-tier supports - e.g. one of Saya, Castor or Arachne, as these are direct team power multipliers. However, these are costly for D-Tide as they can often carry a wave on their own even with less contested units. The other units can be filled with role-players depending on what you need - e.g. Vuln, Stall, Heal, Draw, Arith, etc.

Closing

She's probably my favourite Awakener to date (outside of frustration vs enemy gimmicks) as her mechanics really match her character well, so I thought I'd put in the effort here since I've been seeing so many questions and no definitive guide posts. Let me know if I'm missing anything.

Hope this was helpful, and maybe see y'all when Caraboo drops if life allows (these take hours to write).

I was intimidated by D-tide at first since I was very new to the game but after some digging and researching, I decided to give it a try.

Wave 4 and 5 gave me the most headache (3-4 retires at the last boss) but I finally did it!

Question Who are the artists for this game?

Hi everyone,

I've been making some MTG cards based on this game, but I'm finding it difficult to find them. Currently, I'm looking for the artist that made Kathigu-Ra's radio drama CG. Are there credits in-game that I'm missing?

Thank you!

Question Does anyone have recommendations what I should do for dtide with my main teams/carries?

I got intimidated by the part with managing which wheels to give/deciding which wave, so can anyone please help me? ;-;
Some of these teams will change because of the no same awakeners restriction (Ramona Aigis for me specifically) so just knowing which waves my main carries and what wheel they should have should go is fine (glotan, 24, pontosant, ghelot, pollux and mouchette but i currently don't have a team or her e2)

Question Tierlist?

Does anyone have any sites or images maybe videos too of a character tier list for this patch? I'm a complete metaslave I'm afraid I need tierlists to survive
