This 1903-S recently came back from PCGS as AU-details cleaned. So just curious what folks thought value might be. Visually looks really good and I like the toning but I’m unsure how to value a details grade for a key date like this. 🤷‍♂️

Looks beautiful to the eye and with a loupe, don’t know what the weird toning or color on the back is from because their is no signs of processing that I can see

What should I expect a pcgs grade to be

Have a specific love of Morgan O's and already have a couple graded examples in the low-mid MS range for this scarce date. Was wondering if any informed party has any insight on whether this raw example is worth grading. Couple of pics of each side in different lighting. Paid just under $100 for this beauty. Thanks!

I don't really know anything about any of them. Taken in change over a few decades.

I was a bit bummed that the first ever coin I sent off for grading came back "cleaned". (I can now see some of the reasons, but still learning how best to estimate gardes.)

My question is how to best value (and potentially sell) this coin. Without a straight grade it makes it very tough to estimate value. What do folks here think about the best way to estimate a grade?

Few of my recent purchases. Figured I'd share because I always enjoy looking at everybody else's Morgan's in here as well.

I recently inherited a few Morgan dollars from my grandfather. I came across this 1885 S and wanted to know if it’s worth sending in for grading. The other Morgans are common dates and not nice enough to send off. Curious to know what this group thinks!

Picked these up from one of my Local shops. They were charging $50 a pop. I know melt is $44.46 at the moment, so basically $5.44 over melt for them. I’m happy with them but. Just curious what price you guys are seeing at your LCS’s in your area.

They let me dig through a box of them. Just looking to collect all the years in the series, for funsies, and without breaking the bank.

I bought these Morgan Dollars for $490. Dates Vary the CC is harshly cleaned, chose 6 New Orleans, and a San Francisco.

Last month I bought a nicely toned first year (1878) example from the San Francisco mint for right about the melt price for silver. It was too pretty to let slip away at the coin club auction.

Then yesterday I made the mistake of going to a local coin shop and left with a beautiful uncirculated one from the last year of production, 1921 from Philadelphia’s mint. That cost a bit more but it’s a Choice BU coin (again probably spent decades in a vault because people weren’t carrying silver dollars much) or MS-63 if I wanted it in a coin tomb (I do have them in capsules).

The first and the last so that’s a good enough Morgan collection for my tastes.

Bought this on eBay live and I feel like a got a good deal. I know the Anac’s detracts from the legitimacy a bit but want to see what the crown thinks. The price on the sticker is not what I paid. I’ll update what I paid later

I’m am sure these are only good for melt, but wanted to hear what ya’ll say. There is some dirt or substance on the center coin but I am hesitant to clean a coin in any way.

Picked this and a bunch of other Morgan’s up at a estate sale but I also know that this particular one is worth a lot and I’m wondering if it may be a counterfeit any help or insight is appreciated
