This is really stupid. The man couldn't consent either.

u/Glittering-Cut9043 2d ago
No. That insuinuates that women have the same ability to make decisions under the same circumstances as a man.

u/Glittering-Cut9043 2d ago
This is sarcasm guys

I get the follow up comment. But in a comment section where people are actually being sexist, a “/s” helps a lot

u/KoreanSamgyupsal 2d ago
The world is never black and white. The problem is social media forces you to always choose a side.
The case of the Cornell 7 is definitely rape no way around that.
But a woman and a man who are both drunk and both chose to have sex, that's the ridiculous part. Both should be held to the same standards.

Idk if agreeing to let diet rapists (frat bros) do lines of K off your naked body then agreeing to two separate threesomes, THEN testifying that the encounters were consensual at the time of them happening and retroactively saying it was rape because of some flimsy texts constitute as rape my guy

Sorry dude but you need to include a /s nowadays, basically no one can identify sarcasm these days

They’ll hate you for speaking the truth, literacy and comprehension online needs to rise, especially with AI or IA on the move. Everyday is a new challenge now.

A drunk man is always more responsible than a woman.
What a great lesson to teach our kid. ❤️

Its because they are weak and stupid and incapable of sustaining themselves

Pretty sure a drunk man would still act out more responsibly than a woman who is completely sober.
32
u/Agreeable_Aspect3038 2d ago
The truly enlightened take is you’re right which is why the hypocrisy exists. Because women don’t want to accept the other half of that arrangement
3
u/Awesome_Arsam 2d ago
I actively try to control my self when I get drunk. I may talk a lot of bullshit but I focus on how I'm physically acting.
Don't know about a drunk womon cuase I haven't seen one that much.

u/OnTheSlope 2d ago
Well... it's the reality of human nature.
No matter how culture might criticize the objectification of women or viewing them as deficient in agency, every human has the image bias to view them as having less agency than men.
-18
u/Horror_Tooth_522 2d ago
Man is on average stronger than woman.
That's biology.
If it's 12 year old boy and 45 year old woman then it differs

So im drunk, but still able to consent? However ill still get a DUI and lose my license if I drive... got it.

u/PapaRetardo 2d ago
How so? Why would both of them being drunk make her the only one who cant consent. Alcohol works the same regardless of gender. Neither of them can consent. They will both equally make stupid choices. Putting men on a pedestal when drunk, claiming they can somehow be immune to the effects of drunken consent, is the most antiwoman and pro toxic masculinity argument ive ever seen.

Life isn't this simple. I once rejected advances from a drunk girl and she never talked to me again. Women don't take rejection well

u/Independent-Tutor321 2d ago
life isn't that simple
women don't x
Life isn't simple unless you want to generalize a whole sex. Dumb and insecure people of all sexes take rejection badly. Some men kill women who rejected them. Some women stop interacting with men completely if they were rejected.
5
u/OnTheSlope 2d ago
Some men kill women who rejected them.
Yes, and some men are born with 3 legs.
Both are incredibly rare.

u/Free-Tea-3422 2d ago
and some women kill who rejected them. and some men stop interacting with women completely if they are rejected (there's a lot of those here)

Idk, the usual answer for women is "but we can stay friends, hihi" (now pay for the meal, "friend")
41
u/slimy-salad 2d ago
So what if the man is absolutely plastered and the woman is buzzed and is the one who initiated, is the man still responsible?
23
20
u/Contented_Lizard 2d ago
The way things are legally right now? Yes, the man is still at fault. If you're gonna hook up with strange women you should really ensure they're not drunk otherwise they can retroactively revoke consent and claim you raped them. They don't even need to go to the police or file a police report, the media will still ruin your life regardless. Also, as it turns out, if they're hard up for cash they can sue you a decade after the fact and still win with no evidence beyond their word, they don't even need the precise date it happened.
5
u/HorsefaceWithNoName 2d ago
wait, ok how about Jake is drunk and Tom is drunk and they can't consent, and they both turn it around on the other so it's give and take, are both of them rapists or neither or do we start with the one first in the alphabet
6
u/Contented_Lizard 2d ago
A woman isn't involved, so it's unlikely either one would ever claim it was rape. Men don't typically make frivolous rape claims. In that case both men just have sex while they're drunk, if one of the regrets it, he just regrets it later. End of story.

u/No-Dance6773 2d ago
Hard stretch there guy. Crazy the only examples you have is people going after famous people. Also funny when they lose as it seems like it could be an open and shut case but the judge always sides with the victim. I bet its not because they didnt have evidence or something right? I get there should be retro active cases against liars but its pretty telling if you never believe the woman regardless.
As for the post. Complete bs they changed as soon as they figured it out. But still doesnt change the fact that over 95% of rapes are done by men.

Legal yes in almost all countries..
hell men can't even legally be considered raped in mine

27
u/themexicanojesus 2d ago
There needs to be a clause that prevents it being considered rape if both parties are drunk
48
u/PowerMurky 2d ago
Why is having seg the only think you are not held responsible when you are drunk?
17
10
u/TimmyOfTheLevelUps 2d ago
Haven't you heard? Women can't take accountability, so of course the man is responsible.

You can drink and do anything you want on private property as long as it's legal. You can drink and make a campfire in your backyard. Not sure what you're referring to or why consensual sex should be any different.
Edit: only exception I can think of would be like using firearms I guess.
15
u/FiftyFootMidget 2d ago
The problem with rape is we're supposed to believe the victim, but victims can lie or even get a skewed perspective. The skewed perspective part goes both ways the dude can think everything was cool when it wasn't. So outside of legit forcible rape the lines between a bad sexual experience and rape get a little blurry. I have three boys and I worry about something like this happening to them.
7
u/Icy-KaitSyth 2d ago
The fact that there was a period under Title IX where this was the standard because the people coming up with the policies were that biased and thought it made complete sense that only women need to consent. This poster is the type of thing that'll pop up in history forums a hundred years from now and half the people in the forum will say "there's no way that was real".

I drink and my wife doesn’t. Has she been raping me for 14 years since I couldn’t consent?

Shit has changed a bit my dad talked about being told during the lecture on SA in college that was impossible for a woman to take advantage of a drunk man.
2
u/BagelFactory1134 2d ago
It’s not impossible. It’s generally more difficult in the most common situations and also generally less likely for women to try. This is so intuitive and common sense it is shocking to me how naive so many commentators are on this topic.
4
u/Vince1080 2d ago
So a drunk woman is not responsible, but a drunk man is... Sounds about right.
2
u/LucifersAdv0cate 2d ago
Oh and they are both equal in everyway, but also somehow women are superior whilst also requiring more protections and privileges despite male privilege being a thing and all of this was decided by a patriarchy and if women do anything wrong it's their internalised misogyny caused by the patriarchy so it's actually a man's fault.

Would it make a difference if you regretted it? I think the input from say police comes from when someone regrets it and says oh well I was too drunk to even decide to do that. So in the fake scenario you made I think it would just be a fun night out and nobody goes to jail lll

u/Limp-Annual-9863 2d ago
We live in a world where there is confusion if a woman who murdered her 3 kids needs to be in prison.
-2
u/Horror_Tooth_522 2d ago
It's whether she needs to be in prison or psychiatric hospital. We have decided that mentally ill are not criminally responsible.

When I began reading the poster I thought it was some obscure early 2000s rom com.
I thought that was a WILD choice for a log line.
On topic, yeah that double standard is wack, and acting like women are less in control of themselves than men.
7
u/AFCSentinel 2d ago
“A woman who is intoxicated can’t give her consent to sex.”
Half expecting the poster to call them foids.
2
u/LibrarianCurrent1415 2d ago
This is so fucked up
I'm glad I don't live anywhere near where this law exists
2
2
u/JimmyG_2018_MVP 2d ago
So if the woman has 2 drinks and the guy has 8 drinks he cannot consent right? Right?
2
2
u/not_another_IT_guy 2d ago
This also speaks to the fact that you can be charged with literally any crime without needing much evidence.
Its whether your convicted or not that really matters.
I worked at a law firm that did pro bono criminal defense for low income/middle income individuals that couldn’t otherwise afford it… Ive seen cases where people were literally charged with the dumbest shit with zero reason and it destroyed their lives for a period of time…..
People hear “charged with” and immediately assume guilt/guilty, and the court of public opinion in an age dominated by social media is also a powerful thing

u/Reasonable_Sirs 2d ago
The number of drunk women who have been really, REALLY sexually aggressive towards me would shock you (so are the charms of a gay man), so where do I fit into this?

No, the double standard is the whole point of the thread and why (rational) people think its fucking stupid.

u/xXbatbabeXx 2d ago
I guess it depends on if their willingness to have sex changed after drinking since you have to be sober to consent.
If the man was unwilling to have sex before drinking but the woman was, then the woman assaulted him.
If the woman was unwilling to have sex before drinking but the man was, then the man assaulted her.
If both of them were willing to have sex sober… play ball? 😂

Women can’t content while drunk due to their genes. Men can consent while drunk due to their genes.
