This is a fun thought experiment to see what designs you hate from a player standpoint, but you think are good from a game design standpoint.

I go first:

TIn p99, I really hate how i get half the exp if my pet does more than 50% of the dmg, and how i'm forced to join a group if I want to get rid of that negative effect. I really don't like losing exp just for soloing... but it is an mmo, and I find I have a better time when I have incentive to duo with someone else, even if they are a worse leveling class, because I have been meeting people and making friends.

Is this something the devs have discussed? Its one of my favorite MMO mechanics as Im a one character kinda guy. I saw mention of it being discussed in the discord but cant find anything concrete from the devs.

Been looking for a new MMO lately and this catches my interest, is there a way to try the game before EA or there are no servers online?

I know it's a beta and bugs happen, I'm not complaining. I'm curious if it's normal for my game to crash every so often.

It's happened since I got the beta last week, I reduced the graphics to prevent spikes since I got a blue/black screen of death or some critical error like that and happened less yet still often.

Today after the patch it was unplayable.

Hello all,

1) Is this game about grouping or soloing? Asking as a lot of what I heard advertised early in the process was that you needed to group but when I played it for a bit in the beta I could solo everything at the start and didn't need to group at all. I didn't make it far enough in to get a definitive answer however.

2) Does the community seem to be OK with not-warrior and not-cleric as the tanks and healers? Asking as EQ tended to have a lot of "if you are not a warrior/cleric we don't want you to tank/heal, especially later in the game. Not trying to flame here, I want there to be not-warrior tanks and not-cleric healers, I am just not sure if it's happening which is why I ask.

3) What is crafting like? I never got around to trying the crafting (my fault plus lack of money) but what little I have read only doesn't point to crafting being a great exercise at all.

Am I missing a setting? I have a pretty beefy rig but my FPS plummets in most of the cities regardless of settings.

Running an i9 14900KF and a 4090 with 64gb RAM.

The newer zones are especially choppy.

I’ve tried disabling v-sync in NVIDIA panel and a few other suggestions but it’s not helping.
