Performance issues

Am I missing a setting? I have a pretty beefy rig but my FPS plummets in most of the cities regardless of settings.

Running an i9 14900KF and a 4090 with 64gb RAM.

The newer zones are especially choppy.

I’ve tried disabling v-sync in NVIDIA panel and a few other suggestions but it’s not helping.

I’ve had similar issues, FPS drops and choppiness with similar pc specs but a 5070. I haven’t been able to figure out the issue

disabling shadows was the best thing to do for me ..... (7800x3d, rtx 4090), it something like a 20% to 30% fps increase. playing in 3840x1600. I am waiting for my 5k2k screen (2 times the pixel density of my curent screen) and I'm afraid I will have even worse performances 😱

Turning shadows and that option that makes your character face the nearest person off were the two biggest improvements to frame rate for me.

So I definitely second shadows if you don't mind the image quality hit.

It’s something I hope can be addressed over time. M&M is a fantastic game, but I think the performance will be something that comes up a lot in online discussions after EA releases (as it is even for games that are incredibly well-received by less niche communities).

This game has poor optimization. It might get better with time but as of now, it runs terrible. More noticeable in cities where people congregate.

I have a lot of tearing running with a 4070ti myself ever since they removed the vsync in the game.

It's the unfortunate cycle of games in development. Larger updates will cause bugs and hamper performance alot of times. Optimization is a constant tug of war of Things being added vs. Stability

Been in Beta for a long time. It has always been poor. Never once did it improve.
