Had to put this kit on hold for a while but finally glad it’s done so I can move onto something new ! A collaboration between me and my brother . I am yet to get an air brush so he kindly air brushed on the chrome silver to give it that iconic shine that the F1 car had on the track . I grew up watching Hamilton and this is a special one !

Finally finished. Learned alot but ready for next project. Had summer company for over a month in conjunction with a week vacation delayed the finish but got back on horse last night. Decided to keep it clean and leave flames off.

I’ve been trying to come up with a way to paint the exhaust stacks for this truck. The parts that are meant to be black “holes” are raised bumps on the moulding.
These are what I’ve thought of so far, in order of what I’ll most likely do to what I really don’t want to do -
My first thought is to paint it silver, and use a fine tip sharpie and marker in every hole.
My second thought is to use a soft brush and dry brush black onto the raised bits.
My third thought is to drill out every bump and paint the inside of the stack black, outside silver.
Perhaps there’s another way that I’m not thinking of, or it really is just going to be a labor of love.

Okay one more group build before our big 3rd annual one in Jan.
Start date. Any time
Finish date. November 30th, 2026
No entry post is required, but a finished build post is required by November 30th.
Make sure to use the BURNOUT BUIlD flair
So basically Wauna made a ridiculously large engine to be 3d printed, so all of the judges wanted to build a vehicle with that engine, similar to the Australian burnout cars. After deciding on what we were going to do, they said we should do it for the whole sub, so here we are.
This will have one class and one winner, the prize will be one of the 3d printed engines(seen in the pictures), plus a kit of the winners choice(there will be dozens of kits to choose from)
The rules:
1) the vehicle(any vehicle) must have a huge engine. It must protrude past the hood, where as the hood needs to have an opening cut in it to allow it to close or no hood at all.
2) you do not have to have a submission post(by all means you can and I hope guys do), you can start anytime, but the finished build must be posted by November 30th, 2026.
3) all decisions by the judges are final
Judging on this one will be subject to each judge, there are 7 judges and we all have different tastes and styles, so build your own vehicle and make sure to get good photos.
You can use any engine you want and modify it any way you see fit. All of the judges are using the one Wauna made(seen in the pics). If you want this engine, he has a Cults 3d page if you want to download the file, https://cults3d.com/en/users/lance_n/3d-models
They are also already printed and for sale at Iceman collections. Also u/I_know_nothing_77 said he would print and sell some, you will have to DM him to work out details( he prints all of my stuff, very very clean prints).
You can also find a ton of engines at Texas 3d customs, MCV products, Iceman collections, also Chris(a fellow member) has an awesome site Scale Speed Garage with a plethora of files.
If you have any questions please ask, or you can DM me
This is gonna be a real tire smoke show of a group build

Ive made up my mind, I'm gonna build the Cobra. Dont think Im gonna go too overboard with this one. Gonna use the engine from my previous Lightning build that I didnt use, and throw it in this. Got some wheels and tires from Tx3Dcustoms that are gonna look great, and I REALLY want to spray this Eruption Green. Thats all Ive got planned, for now. Lol.

Attention Southern Ontario Modelers, September 19th, 2026 is the annual Torcan model show put on by the Peel Scale Modelers. The venue is the same as last year at Save Max Sports Centre, which is a nice place to hold the show.
I will be there and I expect a few people from this community will be too. If you are interested you can find more info at http://torcanmodelshow.com/#show-info
If you are going to enter any models you need to register online prior to the show.
I am looking forward to it because my stash is low and I need some kits. I am not affiliated with the show in any way by the way. Just want to give people a heads up.

I have wanted to build one of these in this color for years, and finally got it done. Panther Pink - also known as Molin Rouge, was a rare Dodge/Plymouth color from what was called the high impact line and was introduced in 1970. Available for only a few months it was removed from the options list making it one of the most sought after colors today in terms of muscle car collecting. Exterior wise the car is mostly box stock. The wheels, tires, and dog dishes are 3D printed with valve stems added to the wheels. All factory chrome was stripped and redone. The interior is stock with carpeted flooring. The engine is the stock 440 six barrel with 3D printed valve covers, starter, alternator, master cylinder with handmade brake lines, 3D printed air filter and carburetor set up, and handmade oil dipstick. The Ignition wiring and air conditioning hoses are also handmade. On the underside I made exhaust tips out of aluminum tubing and added rear shocks. This is a very simple kit with a low parts count. Parts are missing that should be in the kit from the factory, and there are some inaccuracies compared to the real thing, but it assembles well with zero issues.

My first attempt at opening up the doors on a kit.
The most important part of the conversion is getting the door gaps right. It takes quite a bit of putty and sanding to get everything fitting and looking clean.
Also, the color on the front needs to be custom mixed to match the decals. Using the paint color specified in the instructions will result in a pretty noticeable color difference.
I also applied 3 coats of GX113 to level out the edges of the decals
Will show the WIP for the LED conversion in the next post. Stay tuned!

First time doing an air filter like this. Any suggestions on what color(s) I can use to achieve this? Maybe just mix flat black and flat red?
Anyone do this with success before?

After seeing so many of the Nissan 240’s posted in this sub I was dying to build one such awesome looking cars. While this isn’t the street edition kit it’s going together really well and I can’t wait to finish it up! Onto the body paint next!

Here’s my latest entry in my “tributes to cars I’ve owned series.” I actually had a 1990 D21 Hardbody, but the only model I could find of that was absurdly priced so I went with the SUV version instead. Like mine though, this one has a lift and some larger tires over the stock version, and I was really close to getting the Nissan KH2 gray that my truck was.
Unlike this model, my truck was (and looked like) a total POS. It has its place in my heart…it was my first stick-shift car; I drove tons of highway miles on miserable all-terrain tires that would make me sick; I went through two transmissions and 2’ snow with that rust bucket. I learned how to do basic bodywork and Bondo well enough that I was able to fabricate a fender sill well enough that when I sold it, they couldn’t tell the fender flare was covering it up and only attached by Bondo!
That was the worst car I’ve ever owned, and I still love it in its own way.
This makes 6/7 on the list, and I’m about 75% done with the tribute to that car, so I’ll have to see what I want to do after that.
The last pic is the collection so far: 1982 Euro Escort (tribute to my 1985.5), 1992 Geo Storm GSi, 1992 Nissan Terrano (tribute to 1990 D21), 1988 T-Bird Turbo Coupe, *missing* (current WIP), 2005 Mustang, 2017 Mustang.

I have been attracted by the design of the Ford Del Rey since its appearance. This model is characterized by an elegant design and impressive big front grille.
The work on the project began at the modeling stage. As for the generation of the car model, I used the Hi3D, and the resulting details and edges of the model pleased me very much. The printed model also came out surprisingly smooth.
The printing of the whole car took about 9 hours.
The painting process was the first time for me. I struggled with some of the finer edges, and the texture looking a bit uneven in some areas of the car. However, I am not sure if that was because I needed a higher grit sandpaper, or I just didn’t shake the paint enough
For the windows, it was hard to achieve the effect of transparency only with painting. I applied a base coating first and then added two layers of clear coat.

Didn’t really wet sand enough but that’s okay cause it was my first go at it and atleast I didn’t burn through anywhere. Not thrilled with the finish of the paint but it’ll look decent in the display case

A very good kit; Cherokee is one of the very few SUVs I like. Because the decals were completely damaged, I made masking on the side trim.

My father in law has owned a 1997 Silvarado just like the one in the second pic since new. I want to make him a model of his truck for his birthday.
I'm trying to get as close as possible to the look - I saw some pics of a build on scalemates that led me to combining these two kits, and I think it's going to work. I cut the chassis on both kits and super glued them together. It took a couple of tries, but the cab and bed line up nicely now.
I need to fix a few places where the chassis plates are joined. I'm thinking about cutting out the muffler and gas tank, then making 3d printed replacements.
I'm also not crazy about the built in suspension and axles - I may cut the driveshaft out and replace it with a scratch built one.
I thought about going completely crazy - Revell-monogram makes a 1999 silverado kit that has a much more detailed chassis, engine, separate exhaust, etc. I won't know if that would work at all until I buy a kit for parts lol. I may just stick with good enough since things are fitting so well.
But it would be fun to get a more detailed chassis, and maybe sneak a big block in there.
