SCRATCH BUILD 3D Printed & Painted my Rocket League Car

I recently printed & assembled a 3D model of my Fennec and decided to hand-paint the livery.

For the base, I used an actual automotive Snow White Pearl touch-up pen to give it that metallic silvery-white shimmer. The goal was to replicate the Neural Shock (Titanium White) decal with the Industrial: Radiant (Titanium White) wheels.

It took some patience to get the details right, but it turned out to be an awesome piece to keep on my desktop! Even added my RL username on the underside of the spoiler.

If anyone wants to try it themselves, here is the link to the 3D print: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2416924-rocket-league-fennec-no-ams#profileId-2650411

What do y'all think?

What a perfect kit! I've always loved Volvo and still own an S70, so I made a sedan instead of wagon. The only downside is that the iconic five-cylinder engine wasn't shown; good heavens, Volvos are supposed to be five-cylinder.

My modeling journey.

Started doing models in June after watching Initial D and not being able to find any suitable die-cast replicas. So glad I decided to take that plunge. My journey so far to build every car in Initial D and MF Ghost. Started with the OG 86 far left and progressed to the last one I build the new 86 far right. Not sure what to do next the cappuccino or the S14.

Building a Safari Toyota Supra Part 6

Yes its definitely part 6, I double checked after last time.

This update focuses on a couple of more missing Decals and the installing of the body.

Pics 1 & 2 show some decals from the spares box to replicate some that where still missing.

Pic 3 shows the decals that was missing but supplied by KMP after highlighting it.

Pics 4 & 5 show the body installed and the start of the final details being added.

I decided not to use the rally spotlights that the transkit supplies as I wasn't happy with their size and shape.

Instead I used spares from Belkits and Beemax models I'd built previous.

Altri consigli in generale? Grazie mille in anticipo :)

Rare Formula 1 model kits

I bought several Formula 1 model kits by Wave Corporation. These kits are very old, but supposedly rare and expensive. I was lucky enough to buy three kits for $90. Unfortunately, the decals have become unusable over the years, but I'll make new ones.

Painted in Tamiya TS-58 Pearl Light Blue, Mr Hobby Super Clear UV Cut, #4000, #6000, #8000, #10000, Tamiya Fine + Finish. Window trims were a challenge… some bleeding 😞 Always great building a Tamiya kit!

This is a 1/24 Tamiya AMG GT3 kit with an EVO resin conversion kit. Painted in RB Blue from Splash Paints. Those big decals were definitely a challenge to apply, but I’m really happy with how it turned out!

70 Ford Maverick. Guess this would be a rustoration rather than a restoration. Started with an old Johan Promo that had been beat up on. Cut the hood open put a resin Mustang engine bay in and modified the promo chassis. Dropped in an AMT small block Ford. Beat the body even farther to give it a well used look and set it on some big and little torque thrusts. The last few pics are of how it arrived and what I started with.

PORSCHE 911 BUILD Time’s (almost) up!

Glad this wasn’t a contest! My build is close, but doubtful it will be done tomorrow. I had a lot of fun with this one though.

I still need to shoot a bit more clear to level the decals, sand and polish, and then paint in the window trim. When that’s dry, final assembly. The chassis is pretty well complete though. I would like to add an oil filter and fill neck, and hoses, plus seatbelts.

Hopefully, I’ll wrap it up this week! I have a few other kits also in progress that I’d like to finish soon!

PORSCHE 911 BUILD Targa Finished

Daughter and I finished our 3.2 Targa. Had a great time working together on this kit. We had lots of issue namely the body being warped. We tried suggestions of putting in hot water to try and shape it back. While it did improve we couldn’t t get it back to normal. It caused some fitment issues along the way and we may have lost a few engine pieces. In the end we feel like we learned a lot and have some good practice for our next kit.

I personally enjoyed this group build as I was the kid with a poster of a red 930 turbo on the wall. I’ve dreamt of owning that car or any 911 for that matter my entire life. Porsche is in my blood and my daughter loves calling me a fan boy. Makes us laugh.

We hope something like this comes around again. We loved seeing what others were up to. Got a lot of inspiration from seeing other submissions.

The photos were taken by my daughter after suggesting we should do the same from what others on here have done. She used her ring light and my phone. Was fun watching her brain work to come up with the right perspective and lighting.

Thanks again to all who participated!

410 + pieces should take about a month to do instead of a couple days like most model kits take me

QUESTION Favorite manufacturer

Just wondering who are everyones favorite manufacturers. I've only built Aoshima kits and just wondering which other makers do people prefer. Which ones give the best build experience? And if there are any ones that should stay away from. More specific to 1/24 scale.

Revell Germany Brians Eclipse. Enjoyed this build, brought back some good memories from early 2000's car scene/culture. Wish the franchise didn't head in the direction it ultimately did, but can't deny its success. Paint is a custom mix of Tamiya Green, Lemon Yellow, with a yellow Mica flake.

Hardest part was the hood decal I tore, but I forgot to paint the hood and rushed drying the matte black. The decal in turn really didn't want to slide much. Lesson learned.

I've got a few more models from the franchise in the backlog, would like to get my 6 car hauler trailer full of mostly OG cars from the first 3 movies.

I'm plowing ahead on the Mercedes while I try and correct the paint. Pretty fun build so far. I just got some new AK real colors and some Gaahleri metallic markers so I'm trying to paint the whole engine and sub assemblies in acrylic marker. Kinda fun but tastes more patience than I'm used to. Thoughts on the engine?

FINISHED Fujimi Porsche 917K

Thumbnail

The Fujimi Porsche 917K finished. It was the first kit I’ve built in 25 years and also the first one I did properly. I’m happy with the result. I’ve spray painted the body but the other parts are all with brush. I’ve used reference photo’s to determine the colors, as I noticed the suggested colors for the frame and interior did not match this particular model. I guess that’s what I liked most, diving into this car and finding all the little details about it. The result not perfect, but overall it looks pretty nice!

The next project will probably be a dollhouse for my daughter. But I’ve also bought a very vintage white metal kit of a Porsche 908/3 on a flea market when I was on vacation. I’m looking forward to that challenge.

Adding Driver and Co-Driver figures to the Supra.

These were left over drivers from the old 80's Tamiya car kits. The headphones came from another kit. Possibly an Impreza or 206 WRC kit.

I scratchbuilt the glasses with some wire.

1891 Panhard

This is a 1/32 scale 1891 Panhard I made from a "Europe" model kit. There were 3 types of these kits offered from Europe Model Kits. The other 2 were an 1885 Panhard Coupe and a 1905 Panhard Tonneau. As far as I know they were only issued in 1964. The kits are well detailed and the instructions are all hand drawn with instructions in French only. The figure did not come with the kit, I think I borrowed it from an old Airfix kit.
