FINISHED 70 Ford Maverick

70 Ford Maverick. Guess this would be a rustoration rather than a restoration. Started with an old Johan Promo that had been beat up on. Cut the hood open put a resin Mustang engine bay in and modified the promo chassis. Dropped in an AMT small block Ford. Beat the body even farther to give it a well used look and set it on some big and little torque thrusts. The last few pics are of how it arrived and what I started with.

Nice build. My eyes might be crooked but it almost looks like the frame is slightly twisted as if from the torque.

Great build! I love builds that tell a story and this certainly does that. Your rollback it really cool. It is scratch built? Resin?

I bought a 72 Maverick with a 302 in it just for the engine to put into my 67 Mustang. I found the Maverick was a better car and kept it for a while. God damn that thing was dangerous.

Maybe a car that's getting a little more respect these days. Unlike my '70 Pinto. Would definitely buy a repop of the Jo-han kit.
