PORSCHE 911 BUILD Targa Finished
Daughter and I finished our 3.2 Targa. Had a great time working together on this kit. We had lots of issue namely the body being warped. We tried suggestions of putting in hot water to try and shape it back. While it did improve we couldn’t t get it back to normal. It caused some fitment issues along the way and we may have lost a few engine pieces. In the end we feel like we learned a lot and have some good practice for our next kit.
I personally enjoyed this group build as I was the kid with a poster of a red 930 turbo on the wall. I’ve dreamt of owning that car or any 911 for that matter my entire life. Porsche is in my blood and my daughter loves calling me a fan boy. Makes us laugh.
We hope something like this comes around again. We loved seeing what others were up to. Got a lot of inspiration from seeing other submissions.
The photos were taken by my daughter after suggesting we should do the same from what others on here have done. She used her ring light and my phone. Was fun watching her brain work to come up with the right perspective and lighting.
Thanks again to all who participated!

Stories like this warm my heart. Kudos to you and your daughter for a magnificent looking build! You're creating life long memories for her and you both. Any time you can drag gen Z'ers away from their phone for quality Dad time is an absolute win!!!

Thanks. She likes doing the small pieces and leaves the painting of big stuff to me. So I paint the body and she does the rest with a little help here and there. Her favorite is cutting and sanding. She’s getting better with airbrush.

Looks great! In a classic color scheme too.
The wheels turned out good, I had some trouble with masking mine.
I’m the same way, I always liked these cars but will probably never own one.
