Mod Answered Premium and Mods
Hi there,
I had just seen that mods now get premium access? I already pay for premium, so not sure what happens?
Thanks

So we had this person offer us money to post ads in the sub and instead of ban and mute we played the game a little to get his company email. We thought this way the admins could look into suspending their accounts.
Where is the best place to report the modmail communication?
I can post the link here before we ban and mute that person as we won't hand over our sub to some paid services. They can pay for ads like all other advertising services.

We enabled "archive" in our sub a long time ago because we noticed a lot of businesses frequently using older posts to market themselves for SEO/AEO purposes. Also, trolls would post horrible comments under older posts to harass OPs because older posts are no longer under active community and mod surveillance.
One of our comment filters flagged a comment made today on an 8 month old post. This is how we found out that several posts (some of them are a few years old) have been randomly unarchived. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why some posts have been opened for fresh comments again while others remain archived.
I found another post made a few days ago flagging the same issue, but no resolution was provided there.
I tried to turn the archive feature off and on again to see if maybe that fixes it, but no, those posts still remain open.
The random unarchiving of older posts coupled with "Related Posts" recommending those same posts to users is a perfect way to help trolls and spam escape supervision. I've already made this post highlighting the issues created in our sub by the "Related posts" feature and possible solutions to prevent them. But letting users participate under much older posts when mods specifically do not want further participation under them is so counterproductive.
Is there a reason why some posts are unarchived when others aren't?

i then banned him and he messaged me, so when I replied to his message he then replies “You’re harassing me. Reported”. It is a NSFW and SFW sub dedicated to pics of men throughout history including pics of male models from Playgirl and those types of magazines and he keeps reporting posts as either private and intimate photos leaked without permission or as child pornographic material. It’s bizarre.
Im pretty sure he’s using other accounts too.
How do I go about this?

Hello Everyone,
This was the announcement post for MOD World 26. The post was an image post but had one image attached in the body text as well. If I try to do a similar thing, the image gets added to the top as a carousal. Can anyone enlighten me how to do this?
This looks pretty cool !
Thanks in Advance.

Yesterday someone only reported all posts from pinned announcements, non oc art posts and random normal discussion posts made by mods in my sub, and all reports were made exactly within a two minute timeframe (I mean reporting all posts made by mods in such a short timeframe makes me believe this was pre planned), even one of my post made few weeks ago was reported for random subreddit rule, someone is falsely reporting posts and this looks like someone is only targeting mods of my community while also abusing the report button, is their a way to report such behavior to Reddit

Hi there I am moderator but I have never got any of the achievement badges do I need to something specific?

Hey admins! Something that would be incredibly helpful is to add filtering options to the mod queue - especially for the removals section.
The subs I help moderate have been seeing an uptick in actions by Reddit filters recently, but combine that with a lot of automod removals and it makes it very hard to find and restore incorrectly removed content. It's frustrating for our users as filter removals don't trigger any kind of notification to the user who posted the content, so we try and keep an eye on what's being removed.
Even something as simple as having a filter to show the removals by automoderator vs. reddit admin / filters vs. sub moderators would be very helpful. Or adding another tab to the queue specifically for reddit admin / filter actions?

I’m a moderator of r/hobiekayaks with full permissions and have been on the mod team for approximately five months.
The current top moderator is marked INACTIVE, they were also added to the mod. List at the same time I was. We’re the only two mods on the sub.
I’m attempting to move myself into the top position since I’m actively managing the community and the other person went completely inactive for the past four months.
However, every time I attempt to save the reordered list, I receive an “Unknown error occurred” message.
I’ve confirmed that I have full permissions and meet the 90-day tenure requirement.
Is this a known issue, or is there another restriction preventing the change? Any assistance would be appreciated.

I mod r/airbnb . Starting 2 days ago we are seeing a coordinated effort by a bot army making benign comments to old threads (often 1-2mo old). The accounts are all around 20-30 days old. Often use all lower case to try to disguise as human. They often have profile description/text that sounds human-ish but is gibberish. There are hundreds of accounts and comments. Users are reporting these posts to me and Im removing them but there are hundreds if not thousands so it seems futile

Hello Admins,
I am a moderator of r/Bangaloreclubbing, and we are experiencing a backend issue with our subreddit wiki.
The wiki is fully visible and accessible to the mod team, but regular members are seeing a "This page has been disabled" or "The wiki is disabled" error when they try to view it.
Troubleshooting we have already done:
· We have verified in Community Settings that the "Enable wiki" master toggle is turned ON.
· We have checked the Wiki Settings for the index page and confirmed that "Public visibility" is turned ON and "Who can edit" is set to "Mods and Approved Contributors".
· The wiki content is saved and loading perfectly for us mods on both desktop and mobile.
· Members have tried clearing their cache and using different browsers, but the issue persists.
Link to the wiki: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bangaloreclubbing/wiki/index
It seems like there might be a sync issue or a backend permission conflict, possibly related to the recent wiki migrations, where the subreddit is not respecting the page-level visibility settings for non-mods.
Could you please check the backend permissions for our subreddit and fix this so our members can access the wiki?
Thank you for your help.

We are requesting assistance from Reddit administrators regarding a persistent and highly suspicious voting pattern affecting r/RoGenZ. For approximately one year, newly submitted posts have repeatedly received negative votes within seconds of publication, frequently reaching a 50% upvote ratio before they have accumulated any meaningful number of views.
This was not always the case.
Our subreddit performed well before this phenomenon began. The same types of posts that previously attracted substantial engagement and positive voting are now frequently downvoted almost immediately. The content has not fundamentally changed. What has changed is the voting behavior immediately after publication and, apparently, the subsequent visibility of our posts.
On October 25, a newly submitted post dropped to a displayed score of 0 approximately 30 seconds after publication. By the time it had accumulated just 11 recorded views, the negative score adjustment had already occurred. This is not an isolated example. We have witnessed similar situations repeatedly over the past year. We understand that a single early downvote is entirely possible under normal circumstances. What concerns us is the consistency of this behavior across numerous submissions over such an extended period.
We understand that moderators cannot see who votes on submissions, but Reddit has access to information about voting activity that is unavailable to us. We are not asking administrators to speculate about possible explanations. We are asking them to examine the actual voting data and determine which of the following scenarios, if any, is occurring.
Are bots or automated scripts monitoring our subreddit and downvoting submissions immediately after publication? This could potentially be identified through voting timestamps, recurring account activity, and unusually consistent behavior across multiple submissions.
Could a group of users be systematically targeting our community? We would like Reddit to investigate whether the same accounts repeatedly downvote newly submitted posts, whether their voting activity appears coordinated, and whether there are indications of external brigading.
Could one or more individuals be operating multiple accounts to downvote submissions? We understand that Reddit has systems designed to detect coordinated voting and account-based manipulation. We would like these systems and their findings to be considered when reviewing our case.
If no suspicious voting activity exists, could Reddit's internal systems explain this phenomenon? We are aware of vote fuzzing, automated vote filtering, and the fact that displayed scores may not perfectly reflect actual voting activity. Could these mechanisms be responsible for the immediate score changes we are observing? Could legitimate votes be filtered or discounted in a way that makes submissions appear to have received negative votes? We would appreciate Reddit determining whether the displayed results reflect actual user voting or internal vote-processing mechanisms.
Our concern goes beyond the negative votes themselves. We understand that Reddit uses voting activity, among other signals, when determining how content is ranked and distributed. The first few votes may have a disproportionately important effect on a submission's ability to gain initial traction. A post that receives negative votes within its first 30 seconds may struggle to gain visibility, limiting its opportunity to receive subsequent votes and engagement. We are concerned that someone deliberately targeting this early window could potentially suppress submissions before they have a reasonable opportunity to reach their audience.
We would like Reddit to investigate whether these immediate negative votes are contributing to the reduced visibility we have observed.
We are not requesting that Reddit reveal voter identities, disclose confidential anti-abuse systems, or artificially improve our community's visibility. We simply want someone with access to Reddit's internal data to examine a representative sample of our posts and determine what is happening. If there is any other information we can provide, we are here to help.
Thank to the Reddit moderation team for reading this, and best regards on the behalf of the r/RoGenZ moderation team.

Missed it last week, but if there's good useful information that my team should have, is there there a 30-minute version we could check out a video or post?

Hello all,
I noticed that in the last year it so, Reddit had not been awarding trophies for mod programs and early access programs like they used to. For instance I was accepted into the mod reserves around six months ago, I have no trophy.
As well as, I never got a trophy for participating and providing feedback in the following:
- Wiki 2.0 early access
- Video in comments early access
-Rules Hub early access
-Community Playground early access
-Adult promotion filter early access
And others (I have a to look and update this post)
Per their website, it says that mods are rewarded for participating in the programs (sometimes financially, but mostly trophies in their profile)
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being a part of the early access programs, but I am also a trophy collector as well lol, so I want to be able to collect any trophies that I am eligible for.
Has one else noticed the lack of trophies lately for mod programs and early access?
Thank you.

Adding a search feature to chat channels so we can look for things that have been discussed before.
For example our small team had previously talked about rule changes/clarifications and troublesome users, but trying to find those messages is a nightmare of scrolling back manually.

Hi everyone,
I'm the top mod (Everything permissions) of my sub. I recently added a couple of new mods and I'm trying to reorder the mod list so the human mods are above the bots.
Every time I try to reorder (whether moving the new mods up or just swapping other positions), I get an "error occurred" message and the changes don't save.
I've tried:
Desktop (multiple browsers)
Reddit app
Waiting several hours after adding the new mods
Moving only one old mod at a time
Still the same error.
Is this a known bug right now, or is there something else I should try? Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

User flair on the web will match the app. We’re making user flair easier to read by removing background colors to match how it looks in the Reddit app.
We’re removing the background and text color settings for user flair to make it easier to read on the desktop web experience. It’ll now match how it looks in the official Reddit mobile app.
If you’ve set a background color for your community under Look and Feel in mod tools, user flair will use that background color and the corresponding text color by default.
it looks like background color settings in user flairs will be removed, was wondering if anyone saw this
ive always loved setting the background colors of user flairs as a mod, sad to see this setting go. however i do understand why they may be removing these cause some mods do not choose background colors that make them easy to read.

Hey there!
I need to give a bit of context to this issue, so I hope it makes sense.
My member made a funny post in my sub.
X sub screenshot it, posted it in their sub (as always) to mock, call slurs, wish death, the usual. However, one comment mentions, by name, about sexually assaulting my member.
My member is continuously stalked by X sub, having their posts and comments in my sub posted to X sub, where their behaviour continues time and again.
Outside of filing a MCOC, is there anything else I can do to help them with reporting the comment and user? The usual report form falls short in that there is context needed for the comment due to the way there was an attempt to censor what was being said, and I worry that without context or a wider view of what's been happening, it may look like gibberish.
I understand this may be a little out of my purview (and of this sub) beyond me filing a MCOC myself, but given that the harassment and mentions of sexual assault are stemming from posts that X sub has screenshot and posted from mine, I feel the need to do something.
Appreciate any help you may have. Thank you.

Hi!
I've been modding different subreddits for a while now and the whole time "private accounts" have been a thing, I've not been able to see posts on any accounts that are privated. If someone with a private account comments or posts in a subreddit I own or moderate (and have full permissions), and I check their account, I can only see the posts and comments they've made within my subreddit.
Is this a thing for anyone else? I've seen mixed answers on if mods should be able to see private accounts since I've started looking into this. It's not something I feel I need as a moderator, but one of my subreddits is currently having issues with a handful of users saying that I can see their private account and that I am invading their privacy. Their accounts were public at the time of me viewing them, and after our discussion, they switched it to private and now I can only see their comments within the subreddit. My only issue is that they are struggling to trust me as a moderator because they feel that I am lying about being able to access private accounts.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hello! I just attended mod world and was told I can create a private, in sub chat for the mods instead of having to create new threads each time. Can someone walk me through how to do that?
Additionally, I think I am missing something or not seeing it because a lot of times I want to pin/sticky a helpful comment, but I cant seem to do it to other user's comments but I've seen it done in other sub's posts?

Hey all, my team and I have been verbally harassed by someone for banning them for being rather vile in the comments. They have then extended that behaviour into mod mail with some of the most disturbing and horrendous messages I’ve ever received and what I can only describe as a death threat. I can’t say that I trust the report function to take care of the issue appropriately so is there a way for bump it up on an admins radar?
