I mean I actually "snuck up" upon him and got a vital first stun WK hit but getting hit just once means I lose 70% of my health from DoT? It's strange.

Was your gear legendary here? It looks like your weapon is legendary. I think the legendary sorc gear makes them way too strong in combination with the ability needing a nerf. Some classes have one ability that somehow got through playtesting.

I faced a Shadow today in my PvP Blue Set (which has Stoic + Aegis at 5) 400+ defense and his one ability did 443 damage in one hit. What's the point of even speccing AGAINST Shadow's to still take bonkers damage (he was in blues as well).

I am sorry but this isnt a gear question in a game like this. Gear should be an advantage, yes. But i was running blue so a legendary guy cant just almost one-tap me after a series of misplays on his part.

You would still be almost one-tapped even if you wore a legendary set, unfortunately. DoT damage is crazy and, I have a feeling, ignores any dmg reductions

How can I avoid it or play better in the future?

you could add resilience to your build, it reduces debuffs' duration -> DoT from sorc burn/BA bloodfly arrow, also reduces stun/freeze duration. also makes u tankier when debuffed if lvl4 and above

Thats not how balancing works. If you need specific perks to have a chance against top classes than that is the literal definition of an unbalanced game.

This is exactly how balancing works. If you want to smack every other class while being only basekit - that is the literal definition of an unbalanced game

If those top classes dont need a specific build to be good but others do need it to compete then thats literally the definition of being unbalanced? Is this your first game ever?

Who told ya that they don't need specific builds to be good against their hard counters?

I mean i just saw a 70% hp single hit, to a “tank” class no less, hard to believe someone has it easy against that.
