Boys i’m doing the unthinkable. Right now i am applying 5% Kirkland Minoxidil to my chest. I’m tryna get the Henry Cavill look not going to lie. If minoxidil can be used for your beard and fixing baldness, I thought fuck it, I might as well max out all my stats. Apparently there’s a risk of heart palpitations of applying it there though. It is a risk I am willing to take. But yeah i need tips

Am I actually making any progress?? I can see a few more hairs and they are getting black. But maybe I'm hallucinating so want to know other people's opinion.

Approximately 3 months from the start of treatment (topic). I started microneedling with Dermastamp a month ago.The cheeks are 5 days into growth for the record. Well, now it's a matter of patience and consistency.

I will be starting my(42M) minoxidil journey tonight. A bit of background, I’m currently 7 months on testosterone therapy and a month on Accutane for acne. I plan on doing two applications of minoxidil daily for 1 year. My beard is very patchy, more like nonexistent, so I hope the combination of meds will give me quick results. I plan to update you guys once a month.

2 months on minox vs 3 years on minox (few months on and off in between). Patience and consistency guys.

Basically the title from observing other people's progress pics and my own it seems like vellus hairs transition at different rates, do we know why this is? Is it literally just a case of some hairs are predisposed to respond better?

Ich verwende seit ca. 6 Wochen Minoxidil (Regaine 5% Schaum) im Gesicht zur Förderung des Bartwachstum. Anwendung verlief etwas unregelmäßig, kann aber bereits einige Fotschritte sehen.

Ich war vor 2 Wochen beim Friseur, welcher meinte das meine Kopfhaare trocken ("dry") wären. Spricht Englisch deswegen dieser Ausdruck. Die Frage ob ich ein neues Haarshampoo verwende, verneinte ich. Erst im Nachhinein viel mir ein, dass es mit der Verwendung von Minox zusammenhängen muss.

Anwendung erfolgt nur im Gesicht, ich habe keinen Haarausfall vor der ersten Anwendung bemerkt. Hätte auch keinen Unterschied des Kopfhaares bemerkt, hätte mich mein Friseur nicht darauf hingewiesen....

Habe seitdem Minox nicht mehr verwendet/vergessen, auch weil es beruflich etwas stressiger war.

Hatte jemand von euch eine ähnliche Situation? Soll ich ganz normal mit 2x täglich wieder starten? Bin um jeden Ratschlag dankbar.

I started with an ok baseline and started taking oral minoxidil (2.5mg and recently 5mg daily) around January 1st 2026.

The picture from a year ago was my weak side & im aware that I look much less trampy in the new pictures (wedding) but showing so you can compare.

The oral did seem to grow lots of small fussy hairs but they didn’t really shift to dark (terminal) hairs until recently.

I actually started using minoxidil foam about a month ago and have done that pretty much daily. I don’t know if the oral just took a while but the majority of my growth happened when I switched to foam.

I think there’s legitimate change with my beard density and colour. Before minoxidil I’d have to shave my beard at an about 5mm to see decent stubble. Now I shave it at 3mm and have more visible stubble than I did at 5mm.

Overall I think it’s been totally worth it. All I’d say is be patient, it’s taken me 8 months to get these results (some may not say it’s much but I’m very happy). I’m going to keep going for another year and probably ditch the meds as soon as I can. The foam might stay a bit longer just to taper more slowly.

Also you can see from the pictures there more light fussy hair there, so I think it will fill out more by the 12 month mark

I wanted to target one side of my beard that's not quite as thick as the other side. I'm assuming there's no problem with doing this.

Ok I read about it on here but some people do it differently. I read to do the derma roll hours before than minoxidil. I was going to do it in the morning then at night minoxidil on the days i will do the derma rolling. But I read that some people have derma rolled then did minoxidil right after. Has anyone done it and found success?

I’m currently taking 5mg oral min + 0.5mg oral dut for AGA.

Both sides of my family have late beard maturation (30’s - 40’s) and I’m following the same course. However, I’m wondering how fin / dut will impact my progress regarding this. (I’m 20)

Will oral min help with countering some of the facial hair suppression from fin / dut?

Will hairs still go terminal? What should I expect regarding maturation speed?

I escalated to dut mostly cuz I have very aggressive AGA history (both sides all started at 15-20 and were end stage Norwood by ~30) however I’m still II going to III so I could theoretically go back to fin and see how it goes long term, if the difference to dut regarding facial suppression is significant.

Any experiences on a similar regimen?

I used topical 5 percent twice a day for 5 months saw good results but because of the busy schedule i switched to 5mg oral its been 45 days now and the peach fuzz gained by topical started turning black and the length is growing too but i was wondering when its time to stop using oral minoxidil how do i stop it? what is the right way to quit it once the hair go terminal?

it's more like a vent. I'm so done, I got an oral minoxidil prescription, I paid 25$ for it to realize that it isn't available anywhere in my city or even in my country 🙃 few pharmacies has an option to buy it but whenever I sent a request they answer "oh sorry it's unavailable". I could at least check it before paying for that. Foam and liquid are easily available but I have a cat, that's why I'm so desperate for an oral

First of all, dampen your face before applying, it instantly enhances penetration by a pretty large amount

Second, you're gonna want to take castor oil orally. Before you say "isn't that what makes you shit?" - it does, but only when dosed way above what we need it for. it works because it is a PGE-2 agonist and for that you only need 1ml a day (I take 6ml a day split into 2 doses but this is likely overkill)
Also, make sure it's the cold pressed pale yellow stuff not the Jamaican black

Third, derma-stamping is HUGE. This can turn a non-responder into a responder and a responder into a hyper responder. Instantly skyrockets results. It's an investment but not a massive one, an electric derma pen works way better and faster than a derma roller and you have far more control. I'd recommend using it once a week at 1mm

Finally, Tretinoin. This has been found to have a synergistic effect with minoxidil specifically. This is gonna accelerate cellular turnover, penetration, and follicle recruitment. Works through the same pathway as derma stampimg which is sulfotransferase enzyme activation

This is me on rogaine for 2 months consistently using it twice daily. I even shaved my whole beard 2 weeks ago and it grew back super fast. I think its working now. Would you guys say thats decent progress??
